For me It's the support from Ali. Thanks for being human. I actually watched this coz Ali recommended it in this weeks sunday snippets, and as a staunch follower of Ali, i never saw some things like you described them. You made it even simpler for me to understand all that happens in one video and the preparation that goes into it and what actually makes it a great video. Let the light shine on you too.
Here's my notes on this excellent video by validation. Taking Ali as an inspiration, I've grown to 2k subs. Now this video just turbocharged my creative ideas. As we know, good artists copy, great artists steal. So onto the notes: 1:44 Ali's look- Vibe is positive, bright, vibrant, inviting, plant 2:23 outfit- relatable 3:09 Lighting: High key lighting - creates upbeat moods. Make sure background is lit well cuz we don't want too much contrast with the subject. 4:44 anti reflective glasses 5:54 practical lighting- Lamps/decorative lights/computer screen 6:17 Bright background 6:36 body takes up most of the video space. Video is not a super close up shot. It looks like he's sitting across from you at the table. Ali sits in front of the table to be able to keep elbow on. 7:54 Blurry background achieved by low aperture lens. If everything is in focus, video looks flat. 8:22 Make background less boring - lamps, plants, bookshelves. amber and teal 9:01 top down shot of a desk: Two stands, put a bar across, use manfrotto arm. Helps add visual interest to the video instead of just the speaker's face. 9:50 speaking style. Speak through a smile, add hand movements. Relate the stories to personal anecdotes. 11:14 Structure: opening statement, welcome, outline of the video 11:43 Editing. Involve zoom ins for emphasis. 12:28 B-roll. Holding a book, reading a book, top-down shot 12:52 Bubble of him speaking while B-roll video plays behind him + glow 13:53 Title cards and icon popups- Flaticon. Free with attribution. Ali's exact style of icons: Lineal color: www.flaticon.com/search?author_id=1&style_id=15 14:10 gets templates for his title cards from Envato. 14:43 transitions: Simple RGB color shift transition- Bunch of adjustment layers and channel mixer effect. Or can buy from Envato. Also the text on video is achieved by writing on an iPad over a blank page background with apple pencil, import the video into editing software, apply chroma key and overlay onto the video. 15:34 music- epidemic sound. Instrumental beats/soft piano. Helps to create that peaceful welcoming vibe. 16:01 Whoosh when something slides in, pop sound, typing sound as text appears on screen, highlighter sound (this adds another point of interest on the title cards), cash sound when money icon appears. 16:29 marketing through title and thumbnails. Photo of torso, blurry background, smiley face. Not a close up of face. Uses a lot of numbered lists.
THIS is insane. What an amazing high-quality video. The amount off effort this guy probably put into research, scripting, recording and editing is just inspiring. Keep up the good work.
I'm part of his PTYA last Cohort 8 now and this video is literally the most condensed tutorial breaking down the psychology as well as the practical application of what he does! Love it, 11/10 on effort, quality and communication style! Keep it up!
Time is not far when you'll be counted as the big RUclipsrs if you keep up the consistency!👌 Great content as always. I guess minimizing the intro can get better viewership.
Thank you Hamza! :) I really appreciate what you said and your feedback. I’ll be trying out different intro techniques in the future. It’s all a big learning process for me 😃
Just helped my wife start her RUclips channel and planning my own - came across your video and I'm subbing just for the quality and execution (same thing I focus on) - excellent work and rooting for you!
WOW. This was SO in-depth - I was literally NOT expecting SO MUCH value from this and amazing content - Thank you so much for creating this - so useful as a New RUclipsr to understand better lighting, editing ect!
Oh wow! I have been watching Ali’s videos and always loving his vibe but only get to know everything he has done behind-the-scenes to achieve that vibe! Awesome breakdown. Looking forward to your breakdown on Alex Hormozi’s videos as well. You have amazing insights ❤️🔥
Really good video, mate. I tend to observe a lot; I noticed all the small details and that burglar shot of you stealing his videos from his monitor. Top class 👌Keep it up, I subbed ♥
Thank you so much! Glad you noticed that haha took a lot of effort to create that one lol had to create the animation in after effects then time it when filming to make it look realistic
great video Brandon! loved the robbery scene. and great way of explaining ali's style how if effects the viewers. Also the Thumbnail is an absolute cracker too. Cant wait to see what you will post in the future
This is such an amazing video, I just visited your channel and you've earned yourself a new sub. The only thing I'd suggest is the music. It felt a bit monotonous. Hoping to see you get huge :))
Excellent breakdown. I loved how you kept saying. it was EASY to do.. sort of some mental subliminal psychology there. Just one note: It seems to me you can achieve this background with a Fake background. Sadly , many of us don't have the ability to recreate all of this stuff. but just using a Virtual Background achieves all this rather quickly.
Wtf why youtube don't promote your channel...you build concept of whole video editing+background+sound effects and all I need to create an video.. thanks guy , keep hustle...I am definitely sure you will get success in near future...❤️
This is such an incredible video! I edit my own videos and use Final Cut Pro X. I have been telling myself(for months) that I need to learn Premiere Pro and After Effects. This is the video that came up on my search when I was looking on how to get that cool square shape highlighted effect that Ali has in his videos and I am so glad the algorithm pushed your channel/video to the forefront. Thank you so much for putting in so much effort into this video and also for motivating me to learn Premiere Poo and AE this weekend. Wuhooo!
Dude I am REALLY impressed by the quality of editing and presentation you put into these videos, it's something I aspire to. If I'm being constructive in my criticism I'd say you could up the pace and put a little more of your own personality into these - but then I can hardly talk, considering the views I typically get :)
Thanks Joel! I definitely agree with your feedback and I'm constantly working to improve my videos. Glad to have you around, and great job on the 2 million + view video you have!
Wow, what a video. From this, you realise that youtubers don't start making high quality content when they get big - they get big when they've already been making high-quality content. I can tell he's going to blow up soon. And I can say I was one of of his first subscribers :)
Thanks!! It’s one of the things I believe strongly too, focus on making better videos and eventually you’ll see the growth you deserve. Luckily it’s starting to happen for this channel. I just need to post more 😂
Hey Brandon, just stumpled upon your video while trying to figure out how to add a "wiggle" effect to my icons in final cut 😀. Keep up the grind I was looking through some of your videos and enjoyed them a lot, your time will come! I am currently upping my editing game as I have some things planned for my channel in the near future 🙂
Beyond any reasonable doubt, you're a fast growing iconic RUclipsr. Keep it up bro. I wish I could get to this level soon. A question pls: Do I memorize script or read it off some screen, how did you do it in this video. Thanks.
Lovely video!!!!! Can you please do an elaborate video on the way to create his bubble? Please please please Especially the neon glowing line on the cutout 😢😢

Thanks so much Ali! You’re so welcome & I genuinely thank you for inspiring so many of us creators
I watched it a year ago and here i am again👏👏
Steal like an Artist :) ….. ?
Ali you have won my heart just by posting here on his channel when he has only 10k subscribers this time .
Same, only discovering the video, love it
I just got recommended this, I can’t believe how much quality there is on such a small channel. The spotlight will shine on you soon!

Great video! Got some handy tips out of this breakdown.
You are absolutely talented 👏
Thank you so much! Lot's of hard work to get here. And a lot more still to come ;)
This video was recommended to me by ali abdal just now and I really loved this video. Thankyou for your helpful tips and ''ALI'' hacks
Wow, what a video. From this, you realise that youtubers don't start making high quality content when they get big - they get big when they've already been making high-quality content. I can tell he's going to blow up soon. And I can say I was one of of his first subscribers :)
I know this cos I've seen it happen before. I was there when Jack Gordon www.youtube.com/@JackGordon had 20k subs but was making amazing videos.
Thanks!! It’s one of the things I believe strongly too, focus on making better videos and eventually you’ll see the growth you deserve.
Luckily it’s starting to happen for this channel. I just need to post more 😂
I’m looking for an editor. Are you available?
Thanks for the comment! Unfortunately not at the moment
Great video I will definitely be implementing some of this knowledge but making it my own. I can respect the style a lot though.
I love your channel goals and the quality of your footage and edits!
New sub+😁👌🏾
Thanks so much!! Glad to have you here 😁
What an awesome video! Love it, man!
Glad i discovered you brother! This is very insightful
I just could not stop smiling. You completely nailed it.
Great video! It’s fantastic how you break it down so simply. Any ideas on how Ali produces those animated shorts?
Thanks! A lot of effort I’d say. I’ll look into it more though :)
Great breakdown
Never mind Ali… YOUR videos are 🔥🔥🔥 keep going. Very informative and well presented. Loved the intro 👌
Amazing and detailed breakdown 🎉 Great work!
Thank you!
Beyond any reasonable doubt, you're a fast growing iconic RUclipsr. Keep it up bro.
I wish I could get to this level soon.
A question pls: Do I memorize script or read it off some screen, how did you do it in this video. Thanks.
Thanks so much! I hope your predictive skills prove true ;)
Great video- you're really talented and will go far! I can't believe you only have 1,000 subs- you'll go far!

Hi i am from India your videos are really really awesome.. please make it.. its really helpful..❤️ keep working hard. And yes i am your 71th subscriber
Thanks for this comment ❤️ & I’m so glad you subscribed before 100!
Bro. What a GREAT work!! Thank you so much. Wow
Wow. Masha Allah this video was amazing ❤ you show me all what Ali abdaal does 😊
You didn't mention the highlight(texture) that he uses in his videos, that's look hella good too.
Yeah it does!
You deserve a lot more attention! 💯
Good job man, loved this video. I can see how much effort you've put in!
Keep it up, I really liked this video!
This is the best video i have seen in 2024, the only issue i have is how to achieve that backgroud .. shelves , lightining and stuff like that, it costly in nigeria and my capcup cant edit some of those thing you mentioned
Thank you so much!! Yeah I understand all of that can be costly. Work with what you got and you’ll get there :)
your video deserve a like and subscribe. Love the effort you put into video. Stay blessed bro
Thanks so much! 😀 glad to have you here
This video is sooooo goood. Holy cow. Def earned a sub!
I'm a huge fan of Ali and it's really nice to see his style breakdown!! Came from his Sunday Snippet newsletter :) good job and I enjoy this video a lot 🤍
typo at 2:18 bro hehe. Great content!
Really?! Damn haha
The way I needed this thank you man
Hi Brandon! I really like your video!! Thank you so much for explaining. Ali is such an inspiration for me, and I really enjoy his style. I also really liked your effect on 0:54 when you "steal" Ali's videos into the bag. Can you break this effect down?
Please make an update to the editing style. More in-depth tutorial. thanks
Just discovered this video and I must say it is very helpful
Very good video! I think wearing plain T-shirt doesn’t interfere with the text/subtitles in the video. If the was wearing a pattern shirt the text wouldn’t be so visible in my opinion
