Very interesting interview.. and I especially enjoyed his reminiscing about the scene between Barnabas and Burke Devlin (Anthony George) in which they very politely discuss a duel to the death and their mutual but disguised antagonism. It was a great, well-written and well-performed scene (I just watched it again after seeing this interview) and I can understand why Jonathan Frid singled it out.
Thank you for putting this up....My friends and I use to run home from school to watch this show. Mind you, I was in elementary school......I've never seen an interview with Johnathan Frid. OMG!!!! Thank you!!!!
Your Welcome, I'll post more interviews soon but think I have all the Great Jonathan Frid (R.I.P.) posted all ready, I'll dbl check, Thanks for comment.
Frid made a Big Mistake---he refused to play Barnabas Collins on the show Anymore. So..All those Characters were dropped and Frid become BRAMWELL, which was interesting but Weak Tea and DS went out with a whimper.
Are you serious? The was a huge mistake. This had potential. The '91 version did as well. It's like they get it going and cut the legs out from under it???? Bramwell was stupid. He will always be Barnabas! Glad Frid & Parker finally got together, but the end was terrible. Eh tu' Brutus?
Could this interview have been shot any worse?? Almost his entire face is in a shadow at a terrible angle - with such a cheesy background color. The man was an icon with so many hours before a TV camera - and whoever set up this interview just could Not get it right??? Gee, "good job", whoever!

What a great interview the camera stayed on him and the good interviewer did not interrupt..

And Barnabas had experience with dueling.

Yes, but the show was done. Even Curtis said he wanted to end it and move on.

Maybe some new writers could have brought in some fresh ideas.
