Pretty nice. I have an order and hope it shows up soon. The last (and my first) rack grade ended up being my favorite in my collection. PS: those 'dots' on the on the rear of the stock are from tapping a loaded clip to seat the cartridges. Definitely well used stock and I love the looks of these. I vote clean it up with some BLO and enjoy it as is. Hope its a good shooter for you and enjoy it!
Very nice and congratulations! My late Dad trained w/one of these at Camp Wolters/Mineral Wells, TX and then was issued an M1 Carbine when he deployed to the PTO with the 11th Airborne Division in 1945.
Congrats! Their rack grades are towards the bottom of their ratings typically with re-parked receivers these days as well as higher barrel wear readings, but that one looks awesome! I've purchased all of my M1 Garands from the CMP. Nice old SN too...that's always a bonus. As far as ammo, only shoot ammo for your Garand, not typical .30-06. You can also get an adjustable gas plug that you can dial in for any ammo. Anyways, really cool man! Need to take one of mine out for some shooting...it's been a hot minute.
Sweet! Now hit up the gunshows for a bayonet, sling, bandoliers & spare pingies. Did they provide at least one pingy with it? High priority if they didn't, you can also get modified pingies to hold 5 rds. for hunting if that's your thing too.
Mario. nice M1 Garand. Mine is an H&R barrel dated 1954. The Hornady reloading manuals have a specific section on reloading data for the Garand. Other manuals do as well. Enjoy your new rifle. Please, don't refinish the stock. I would keep it original..
We all gotta start somewhere with the knowledge/history of firearms like this
Heck yeah and those dings are history. 🇺🇸

Dude that thing looks awesome. It is in very good shape. I call them Love Marks. The research is the fun part.
That rifle is just cool as can be! I'm with you on leaving it as is. Thanks for sharing Mario!

That’s awesome not sure if you knew but the Army recently activated the 11th Airborne Division.
@@mario3804 I did. I think Dad would be happy. He passed away in March 2021 and never got to see it.
Great looking M1 Mario, nice case too. Good stuff 👍👍
Thats very nice compared to most of the recent rack grades i've seen. Glad you got a good one.
The Hornady 11th edition manual has M1Gerand specific load data .

Dont soak the wood in oil. It will cause the wood to break down.
