Can you share link for where you got the absorbent mats? I'd love to give diaper free time but am scared of ruining my couch/mattress

Sure thing. I got them off Amazon. I have the blue and the white. The blue is thicker and firmer.

From a grandma’s perspective. As my mother told me when I was raising my kids, by the time they get to college they will be potty trained, able to feed themselves, speak coherently, dressing themselves, and might even clean up after themselves. The parenting journey is more about building a healthy child than ensuring they meet the goals set by other people. IMO relaxed, responsible parents raise responsible, calm children.

My dad used to say this. "They won't be wearing diapers in college "😂😂

Yes, external goals don't serve anyone :) Thank you for sharing.

Thank you so much for all your experience and tips. My baby is 6 months and I wish I would’ve known about it before but I am determined to try now and stay consistent. Thank you

I think it is beautiful to start whenever we become aware and are ready. Good luck!

Appreciate you giving details! This is all so helpful! Thank you as you are my encouragement. I just started with my almost 3 month old today. I am wondering how can I do this without encouragement of others around me? If you have any videos about how to keep going and find encouragement or how to do it with other kids in the future I would be interested! Thanks! Btw I caught one poop today which was so exciting!

      That is so exciting!
In future when I have more kids I will detail how to do it with more kiddies, but I assume it will be the same and maybe involve my other kids in looking for baby's communication, saying potty, etc.
In terms of encouragement - I've found that several people around me have started doing EC after seeing us do it and it resonating with them since they already knew more less when their babies were going (usually poop). But even when I knew no one doing it - I just keep doing what I think is best for me & Elba :)
Thank you for your comment. I will ponder it more and make a video about keeping the motivation and encouragement.

@@carmenfourie5346 Its gone well however I just hold her over the actual toilet.. curious if i should just go ahead and buy the bjorn potty so she can start planting her feet as i worry holding her like that as she gets heavier will be hard to do.

Just had my first I really wanted a natural birth but my waters broke and I wasn't having enough contractions so after getting a pill to "get things going" I was shaking uncontrollably and throwing up with no breaks between unbearable contractions, I was terrified I wouldn't be able to move with the epidural but after I got it (apparently a fairly light dose) I could dance around and go on the birth ball no catheter and went to the bathroom on my own 😊 I did almost pass out when I tried to stand the first time after the birth though 😅now I'm debating whether I'll be willing to try a natural birth on the next one despite being so anti epidural before this one 😂 my entire labor and birth from the moment my waters broke to baby coming out was 12h which for a first kid I think it's pretty good 😊
