Let's face it, getting your master's of business administration degree (MBA) is a huge investment in terms of both time and money. Tuition at a top rated business school can easily cost upwards of $100k. As such, earning a master's degree may simply be cost prohibitive for a lot of people out there. Luckily, there are other education options available to you that are cheaper and more streamlined. This includes professional certificate and micromasters programs from elite universities. For example, John talks about four programs from MIT, Wharton School of Business at UPenn, University of Maryland, and Columbia University that may be a better fit. The University of Maryland Micromasters sounds best to me!
I took the micro-masters program class 1. Paid, got 98%. Did very well. But… I don’t have a relevant bachelors so I can never get the certificate. 😢 If I can do the work, and do it well, why does a bachelors in a relevant field matter?!
I’m still salty they didn’t point out the requirement until after I passed. But I probably just didn’t read the prerequisites closely enough when I signed up.
