in my opinion, the most naturally talented player of all time - such a shame that he went missing for years before he won the world championship again in 2018-they should have been his peak years, just imagine how much more he could have won
@@johnmc3862 As a former ref on the amateur circuit, I have worked with plenty of players, some of whom are now pros (including the current world champion). Most of them are really great people but snooker is a game which requires sustained concentration, so you rarely get to see their personalities during a match. Mark is one of the few who can concentrate when relaxed & making jokes.
Fantastic of course. The top pros are in another stratosphere. But the very first first black that Mark sinks, a great fine cut but it hits the cushion inches before the pocket and somehow still goes in.
In what other sport would this happen? It would be like a PGA Tour pro playing a municipal course and breaking 60. They would never do that though, far too stuck up for that!
It was a great privilege for me to referee my first 147 achieved by my favourite player.

They do get paid for exhibitions, but they have pride & want to give value for money. I think this ticked that box.
