I think the narrative around this bill has mischaracterized its purpose greatly. Why do you even want to teach sexual orientation to kids? Kids should not be exposed to the world of sex. The bill is explicitly about "sexual orientation" and "gender identity." It is there ultimately to not confuse or perverse children with ideas explicitly about sex and is not about removing LGBT expression, representation or diversity. You can show them gay men married and the ways people live. But it ought to not be sexual and kindergarten ought to not be convinced to being non-binary/ transgender by teachers. They will know that for themselves and not be confused by the adults they look up to.7 You don't actually disagree with the bill because you agree teaching about sex in school is inappropriate. There are teachers that are taking it too far and unfortunately, it is necessary to make these laws so that, this gross behaviour does not happen. Unfortunately, the narrative around the bill has made it about representation, which is a gross mischaracterization and only leaves kids vulnerable to the weird things that are unfortunately happening in schools.
