    So if you wanted to you could remove the front wheels. And weld on two more that are inline with the rear wheels. Run a chain from each rear to each from and have it kinda behave like a skid steer

      You could probably get away with shortening the wheelbase by a foot or more. What a neat idea 💡 would dominate everyone in the mud if you pulled it off

    I live on a river and it can get pretty muddy. The zero turn does a great job of slogging in the mud, but it goes even better with dual tires using tractor tread tires.
    It also allows me to move my Wallenstein Timber Talon trailer around which saved me from buying a separate bigger tractor or UTV. Basically I have a zero turn that can mow, dig with a backhoe, grapple logs, run a grader or bore holes with a post hole auger. I can do a lot for very little money with my now dual tired zero turn.

    I got this mower specifically to be able to drive it through a 36 inch door ruclips.net/user/postUgkx1VWTrayKBdCKAjzAcZ_Eg4dhHTae3LkN also recommend or gate It is a little tight with the grass deflector installed but has more clearance with the deflector replaced by the recycler/mulcher. This model appears to be popular and a little harder to find for that reason. I can't judge the dependability as I have only mowed the yard twice but everything else on the mower is very nice and working fine so far. I added options for the run hour timer, arm backrests, recycler/mulcher, towing bracket, deck lift assist and cover.

    I'll take the regular mower any day over the zero turn, even for mowing my yard.

    • @flash1259
      @flash1259 2 года назад +2

      Not me. My front yard is around 2.5 acres. I've mowed it with both and it takes a lot less time using a zero turn.

    • @descargaelbano
      @descargaelbano 2 года назад

      @@flash1259 My yard"s only an acre and I have a 50 inch Dixie chopper and a 42 inch Craftsman LT1000. If I had just an open field to mow I would probably take the Dixie chopper, but since I have to go between trees and fences and tow my trailers and other vehicles around the yard. My choice is the LT1000. I can get further into the corners and closer to the trees with the deck although it is a bit slower.

      @@descargaelbano My wife started mowing our yard with a 42" Craftsman mower. I beat that thing to death and Sears finally replaced it under the extended warranty I always kept on it. Now the replacement has went bad but, I didn't keep it under warranty. I upgraded to a 50" Troy Bilt zero turn when the first Craftsman went bad. That helped a lot and made mowing faster. Then I bought a 2014 61" Bad Boy Outlaw XP. That helped a whole lot. I started mowing places with it I had only bush hogged before. I was cutting 4' tall grass with it. My son is still using the Troy Bilt on his approx 1 acre yard and I still use the Bad Boy. I also added a Kubota 3901 and a used Rhino TM 84. I probably mow around 12 acres total. This year I used the finish mower to mow the power line right of way the power company hasn't mowed since I've lived here. That's probably 3/8 mile long and how ever wide the right of way's are.

    • @flash1259
      @flash1259 2 года назад +1

      To give you somewhat of an idea of what I mow this is just outside my yard fence. When I bought the land it was so thick with white cedar it was hard to just walk through it. It took a long time of clearing to get it to this point. On the other side of the trees there's a flat spot more than twice the size of what you see. I still mow my old yard across the road. That's only around 1/4 of an acre though. i.imgur.com/hg8tOnI.jpg

    • @chud327
      @chud327  2 года назад +1

      Same here, I had a 54 inch craftsman and replaced with a 48 inch zero turn craftsman and it was about twice as fast. Still love tractors, just not so much for mowing. It is now a pain to mow with a tractor when you go to turn around and I am constantly thinking how much faster and easier a zero turn is. However, when it comes to mud, give me the old tractor. thanks for watching.

    Mowing decks should just be optional equipment on newer mowers. Knock $300 off the price without a deck and use that money to put some grips on it.

    • @chud327
      @chud327  Год назад

      They would sell some, but knock more than 300 off, have you seen what they charge for bare replacement decks. Should come with more aggressive tires and a locker too. Needs better pulleys and a nice bumper. People would buy that. Still cheaper to build you own, but could be an option for those who do have time. Thanks for watching.
