after watching for less than 5 minutes I can say your father does not think like an average human he is an incredible thinker and hyper logical its good to see someone who actually understands that over building/over doing things when it comes to safety isn't foolishness its logical the man is a genius in his own right in my opinion

At some point, the work spent being 'organized' and 'safe' becomes more work than the work. This shop seems more like a tool display museum than a place where work could actually happen. I would love to interview his helper/assistant/partner in a job or project, it must have been painful beyond words. When the guy you are going to work with for the day 'covers' his anvil with plastic, you know you will be in for a long day.

This is a craftsman who has walked the walked and knows the value of quality. I'm tired of the 25-35 year olds making tool box tour videos of every harbor freight tool know and none of them have any use on them. I would be honored to work with this professional and would have learned more in a day from him than years of watching you-tubers

@@therealmillerman No thanks, that kind of 'pride' clashes with production and reasonability. But I suppose if you have nothing to do and all day to do it's OK. As for me, I put the pride ,quality and effort into the job , my anvil that I beat on with a hammer is OK and I can cope with it without a plastic cover and a wax job (good grief and holy shit).

    • @joeysanchez5926

The assistant almost always works harder then the other. In my family we've known this for years. I come from a family of carpenters/contractors so I know about all the running back and forth, get me this and that then putting everything away and cleaning everything. Wrapping the cords "correctly ". Hold this hold that. Up and down the ladder. I know one gets paid for their knowledge and experience but yeah the assistant pays his dues and is usually underpaid.

A very close second favorite was listening to the pride in your Father's voice talking about his shop, not to mention his great sense of humor. I really liked the labeling of the circuits to which breaker supplied the juice. The cabinet with the tri-fold doors was great, I really liked that it was lighted. In the Navy we call that Battleship Gray color "Haze Gray". I can't say I would organize my hand tools the same way, but hey it's not my shop! I'm glad the organization works for you guys. Would be an honor to borrow any tool and of course the hammer and pry bar too.

The electrical set up is incredible but it’s overkill. If you had 8 guys working in the shop at one time, I could see it. The shop is not conducive to work in. The miter saw is a beast, but it would take 20 minutes to move things out of the way to cut along board on it. I would go outside and use a circular saw instead. The shop is the hobby.

Just wow! I enjoyed every minute of this video and I wanted to say thank you to your Dad for the tour of his workshop and for sharing his time. Thanks to you for filming & posting it! Much respect to your Dad for his love & knowledge of quality tools, but more importantly his ability to properly use and care for them. I would love to see more content and I'll be subscribing to your channel now.

Amazing shop and man who made it. Very well planned and overbuild in a reasonable and smart way. Now here's an idea for the next video, show us some of the stuff your dad has made with all those fancy tools!

Amazingly organized and detailed shop!! As a lifelong mechanic and general jack of all trades I have a big collection of tools and equipment but your Dad's origination of his collection is inspirational. Maybe one day I'll have the time to get my stuff in order.

Man if I had a shop constructed so great & extra large would move my bed, frig, microwave & a TV into it. Down my way a lot of guys going with brushless battery operated tools to get away from cords & air lines. At my first job many years ago they had an AC welder they called the mass box. Would string cables up to weld on roof and hated helping the welder on damp or wet roofs. Company would only buy gloves for the weldor so got the heck shocked out of us. You have enough sockets, ratchets & extensions to have a dozen guys working. Thanks for showing us the best one man shop in North America.

I love it when he grabs one of his benches and leans into it with his full body weight to show you it ain't gonna move, lol. Whoever had him work on their machinery was lucky. I'm sure he "did it right" every time. Not many do these days.

I think of myself as a well organized person. In fact, it's almost a hobby/OCD. But I think your dad has out done me! I bet he hates wood working in there. The dust would drive me crazy. A very nice shop indeed.
