and wait for you to hear Vivaldi's compositions, bach was great over a lot of generes (classic, romantic, baroque) but Vivalid was the god of baroque and has some insane compositions that sounds pretty much like "metal"
I'm convinced, from listening to classical numbers, that if many of the most notable and famous composers were still around today.. they would be metal heads no doubt. \m/
Bach was metal before metal existed. Basically classical music is metal before metal. That's why it works so well if you take it and put it in modern metal.
Carlos Santana once said, "I realised a long time ago that instrumental music speaks a lot more clearly than English, Spanish, Yiddish, Swahili, any other language. Pure melody goes outside time".
Having discovered Polyphia not long ago, it's really interesting to have such "documentation" to see how they matured from 10 years ago, already a solid trio covering Bach in a really direct way, raw sound and promising young virtuosos, and hearing today their intricate sophisticated arrangements, riffs and fine themes with a very polished visual production, they worked and kept it up and they went really far.
This is the Polyphia I listened to in my early 20s and while it took me a bit to get over their evolution, seeing the sound they were aiming for in 2018, I'm glad they did because they went from just another djent/prog-metal band to something else entirely that's God-tier. Still miss this version with Brandon though lol
For real, they had a bunch of drum covers with Brandon up till the Renaissance album. Then they deleted those videos when he left, they honestly should've kept them up for the hell of it
@@aaizner847 It wasn't really that funny. The guy who created the Muppets (and lots of other popular puppets in the 70's/80's) was named Jim Henson. So the joke would probably also fly over anyones head if you weren't a kid in the 70's/80's...
its not that they dont have skill. its that particularly the drummer needs to realize what is appropriate to play for this style of music. he's just going off doing a solo rather than playing the song. even though they're doing a metal cover, blast beats still dont fit with classical music.
nah, they started as a tech metal band, then did a few rockish/ jam band albums before going into .. well w/e you call their last 2 albums. check out their album resurrection .. it was pure metal and they recorded it when they were all like 16-17

BY THE LIGHT OF THE MOON Music is music......whether it is played on a over compressed guitar, violin, cello, organ or orchestra. the notes do not change.....if you're familiar with sheet music you would know this. they played 90% of that was the way Bach wrote it to be played. Its just been adapted to modern times and modern metal. Maybe you are just not a fan of modern metal music???????
People who make comment like these have no clue how strict music was back then. The church probably wouldn't have allowed Bach to use the dirt channel, let alone an electric instrument.
They are obviously very skilled musicians, Bach's a master and they did a very good rendition of this concerto. They may also be classically trained or have some experience and knowledge of classical music either way they are still very young and as a fellow 18 yr old guitar player they are extremely inspirational. and what they choose to wear and how they have their hair shouldn't matter, only their talent should matter in the discussion of a performance.

If you take distortion out of metal music, you get low quality classical. If you put distortion in classical music, you get mind blowing metal.

BCI: Before Scott Ibanez
Before the second clay lol. They still got clay the drummer
@@AFN2750 they always had clay the bassist. Clay the drummer is the new drummer. I think this drummer is named Brandon?
Peter Zelaya yeah I went and learned about that after I saw this video a few weeks ago
Brandon Burkhalter. He’s a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist to. The band also used to have a vocalist at the very beginning
What the hell this is amazing! I only ever heard newer Polyphia songs, never knew something like this existed.
Before this they had vocals.
Right?!!!! Man wtf I've been missing entire chapters of their lives
Thanks the algorithm

im a guitarist and i like how they play but... damn that drummer is insane
The guitarists are playing a classical piece. They're capable of a lot more. The drummer is composing his own part

So many comments full of whining... It's a cover of a classical piece. Is that not enough?
This is so impressive and badass. You guys are all geniuses. Please make more classical cover videos like this. Probably one of the coolest video
Why so many haters commenting on this video? Polyphia is incredible.

they might've been too surprised about this one after listening to their newer stuff so much
