This is a great stand, period! It's lightweight, climbs easy ruclips.net/user/postUgkxlQ7TDIrnnSXXbRgFFaxqwullRJJIuYAs and feels solid while in the tree. The seat is easy to fold up for climbing and sits comfortably for long days in the woods. The only downside I have is that it might be too comfortable, but I like napping in the tree anyway. This is the second Summit Viper I have owned. The old one is steel making it heavier, but this aluminum version is about 9-10 lbs lighter. I recommend buying a better fall harness as the one included is clunky and not super comfortable. I think it will work fine if you NEED to use it, but there are lots of other more comfortable options out there.
Sounds good!
I hadn't thought of cleaning my vehicle out like that. I have 2 Border Collies and 1 Aussie and they drop a LOT of hair, GREAT IDEA!
That’s awesome! They must be a beautiful crew of pups! If only they made one of those robot vacuums for cars 😂
Nice stand, here in Tennessee and found 2 trees like you used and will try your ideas, It looks perfect. Thank You for the demonstration and video. Subscribing.
Thanks for watching! I’m in Tennessee as well, was a tough season here for sure. Have fun making the stand!
I'm in the Syracuse area too. Now we can hunt big game in Onondaga County with rifles!
Yessir! I put out another video about that a few weeks back, I haven’t seen anything about when it will go into affect. Even called the DEC and they said they didn’t know anything about it. Do you know if we’ll be able to tote a rifle this fall?
I love how you made the steps, Thank you.
Thanks Kathy, someone commented to nail shingles onto it and I thought they was pretty clever. It gets sketchy when it’s snowinf
Nice job solo, not easy but great job and idea! Would still use a harness and ensure support on those main beams for your safety, well done, Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Greg, funny enough i just released a video reviewing this stand after a year. I wish i included these suggestions! If you are keen on checking it out, I show where i'm thinking of building another blind and would love suggestions! Thanks again - Jake
That's the mentality we grow up with, it's like I just shit in a 👕. A tree is just the next step. Boats. It's a little adrenalin bump
You did great.
Thanks!
Nice video Jake. Definitely add the roof for next fall. It’ll make those rainy days that much more enjoyable.
Thanks I’m going to try to! You’re channel name makes me miss home and New England mountains (assuming it’s referring to New Hampshire). Hope your season is going well!
Nice video, thanks for sharing. There is no doubt that you are the dogs master, he helped you build that stand, he never left your side. Beautiful dog.
Thanks for watching Brian, he’s my best friend for sure. He is currently laying on my feet under my desk as I write this 😂
Awesome design and assembly of your stand.
Thanks Alan, already got some additions planned so stay tuned 😂
Watch using that tri-square like that when cutting with that saw. Dont pressure it like u did on that one cut. You'll get Kick backs and they equal injuries. I like ur uncles idea of 1in gaps for the snow. Good thinking.
Yup, I was trying to get it done too quickly and sacrificed safety, aka was stupid! My uncle was a carpenter and is an invaluable source of knowledge! Glad I ran everything past him
Nice job! I would add a couple more support beams great job. 👍🏼
Thanks for watching! Def need a few, thinking I’ll put some 4x4s underneath to the ground!
Great job pal! I live in Canada and loved the build!
I appreciate you watching! It was a fun one for sure, hopefully another one coming up soon. Can never have too many haha
Perfect!
Thanks David, it needs a couple touch ups a few years later but I still love this stand!
Nice shirt
The blue one
Very Nice. (from a fellow upstater)
Thank you! We’re on our way up there right now to hunt this week.
@@jakefromupstatefarm ; oh great i’ll be doing the same in the Syracuse area. Clay actually. Good Luck and safe travels!! 🦌
Good job.nice stand.
Thanks Don!
You mentioned 9 mile creek and thought he's not far from Syracuse area..Nice job on the stand. Good luck hunting!
Appreciate it Ed!
Well Jake, I built your shooting bench based on the OWTM video, and NOW you got me wanting to put a few of these up in the woods on my farm!!
Do it! But if you have a significant other who shakes their head when you spend too much money on hunting stuff like mine does, then you can’t say you got the idea from me 😂
@@jakefromupstatefarm Too late! I already put the blame to you!!! LOL
I recognize that barn but I don’t no from where
Hey bro I made a super nice heavy duty box stand between two trees very similar to how you're set up is it worked great for a couple years unfortunately you get straight line winds and the trees don't always blow the same direction and it ended up dislodging the support beams eventually even after I tried to keep them in mother nature one in the end. Hope you have better luck than I did my box tree stand is now 3 ft off the ground set up but still effective .a friend got a nice big doe this season out of it 😊
Yeahhhh I’m a bit nervous about that. Especially since it’s on the field edge it sure gets some wind. I have another spot I’m planning to build a stand in cuz I didn’t see a single deer this year and the wind was brutal
Use 1 of them tree's because there big then use 2 treated 4x4s make sure your tree can move. Best would b use ratchet straps
Nice, thanks for the video
thanks for watching!
Gorgeous farm. Sweet dog. Nice work, Jake.
Thanks for watching Mike, the sweet dog brings the most joy for sure
So hard to wanna hunt in upstate without having people to and i absolutely love the 9mile
It’s a beautiful area!
@Jake from Upstate Farm oh absolutely i originally lived in the west winfield area and its kinda the same both nice areas
Great job and interesting video! What a beautiful setting in upstate NY. Thanks for sharing and can't wait to watch more!
Thanks Steve ! It sure was a blast to make. Thank you for watching!
I'm in june man, we take a shut of a tree 🌳 get the chance
I enjoyed this video bud. Keep them coming!!
Thanks man, workin on a few at the moment!
Not bad jake, keep it up bro
Thanks man, didn’t see a deer from it this year but still served as a sweet tree house for my daughter 😂 hope you had a good season
Thought for sure you had more subscribers. At least 10k but you are criminally underrated. Definitely gonna Subscribe
Haha I wish! I’ll need to put out a lot more videos to get there but I really appreciate your kind words
Another great vid Jake! Keep it up!
Jake, will you bowhunt, shotgun hunt, or both, out of that stand? Nice build! If you're going to do it, do it right, and you did. Nothing worse than being in a stand, and being miserably uncomfortable. We need to see vids out of that stand! : )
I’m going to try haha I have filmed quite a few videos out of it but haven’t connected! Maybe this year will be the year 🤞🏻
Well I like your tree stand. A roof Just put put some 2X4 from tree to tree then plywood time. It will help to keep you dry . Remember what ever you screw or nail the wood in to the tree . It will get pulled in farther and farther every year. In 35 years you will have walls, drop windows and a heater. And yes put a rope on it to pull up your gun and supply’s .
I wish I did this a week ago! Spent the whole week getting snowed on 😂 It got down to 19 and that was enough for us to start planning for walls, windows, and a heater! Happy hunting Joe
@@jakefromupstatefarm Start out with propane, that way when you make the switch to a wood stove it will be even nicer lol.
The first stand I built when I was 14 is still standing, and there is definitely something different about stands that are open like that one, and yours. It's more enjoyable, you feel more in tune as long as you aren't suffering.
My unsolicited advice, is that if you have room for two stands leave that one as is, and make the other enclosed heated stand in another spot.
We live in a dry cabin. Out house. Bucket under the sink. Were when it's 45 below I don't give a dumb. I'm getting a old t-shirt and putting a mark in it . Feeding the fire a wet log.
A dang nice job building your stand single handedly. I'm considering buying a cordless saw; how long did your saw work before the batteries konked out? Good idea to build your platform before heading out to the treestand site. That would have been more cumbersome trying to get that done at the stand site. You should have more subs than what you have. Will try to boost some of that from a few shout-outs to fellow subscribers. Again, great job on the video and great that mom and uncle approved the trees. You don't want to piss them off or your hunting adventures will be limited. Okay, keep on doing what you're doing and have fun doing it. Houndsman One. 👍🏽🤠 2/7/23
Thanks for the thoughtful words, I just gave your channel a sub as well! I have a rain barrel and will be referencing the barrel video you made with drinking nipples when I make a waterer for my chickens. As for the saw, I got mine used from a hvac tech who was upgrading and ive never had power issues. I have 3 18 volt batteries that suffice for all projects. I’m sure the newer 20 volts last even longer! - Jake
Awesome job….looks like your in the Marcellus area
Yup! My favorite place in the world
I would have painted it before I put it all together. Learn from me and on the steps put little braces under each steps. Built steps up to my box blind and after a few years they rotted and the screws failed and I went right through a step and fell all the way to the ground. Could have been worse than it was. So I’d get those steps braced.
3 years later still not painted lol I’m slacking. If you check my other videos I just added some siding and didn’t have time to paint it either. I live in TN this is at our farm in NY
Good video man. Definitely got some good notes from this. I hate seeing comments with only negative things to say, those people live everyday with a stick up their butt. You do you and keep it up 👍
Thanks Jordan, I appreciate you saying that! If you’re building one and have the resources to put a roof on first go around that’d be my only suggestion haha
needs more screws! xD
You got any connects at Home Depot!? Happy to throw my hat in the ring for a sponsorship 😂
A pretty descent 2 man stand, most likely, Perfect is a VERY big word. might even be "perfect" for you, but "the" perfect....not even a chance. You will even think of improvements to that stand after you spend some time in it.
what program did you use to draw up those plans?? Thanks
Hey I used sketchup free, I have another video about it as well
I got a buddy wouldn't get in one of them with me drunk.
How high is the platform off the ground ?
Can’t really remember, probably around 8-10’
You need lader
He's still angry cause I git drunk last time shit off the stand.
Hello handsome 😊👋
Could you share what type of drill ,and screws?
I used a dewalt 20v impact and an 18v drill. The screws are just 2.5in deck screws
Beautiful video but why didnt you let your dog come up? You have a wonderful dog.
Thanks glory, It wasn’t him getting up that I was worried about. Just pictured him giving it a leap of faith to get down. I’m a bit of a helicopter parent 😂
Where did you buy those yellow saw-horse? They are taller than the ones i usually see.
I'm not sure where my mom got them but these look to be similar and are 38" so 2 in taller than counter height

You mention 9 mile creek and I recognize a tunnel you drove through. Where are you from ???
I grew up in the camillus area.
Hey John, I’m from Tennessee but my family still lives in that area. That’s the bridge by marcellus falls!
Jake, U look old enough to make ur own decisions!!?? How old are U?🍁🍁🇨🇦
Not sure I follow
@Marco Polo - You're never too old to value the wisdom of your elders. Their suggestions come from a lifetime of experience that you may not have.
Yea, I read some of the other comments saying nice job blah blah blah. Your just lucky you didn’t get severely hurt, that was some really dumb construction techniques. Broken bones are not a joke! One of the other comments said he built one like yours and the wind blowing the trees differently destroyed it. Yes, that’s what will happen to this one too. Properly done, it would be have the 2 lower beams in a steel saddle that allows the trees to move independently and the beams slide back and forth. But hey, it’s RUclips, people want to see stupid things.
This comment says a lot more about you than it does about me. Spending the week in the woods with my dog will be a great memory I’ll have for the rest of my life. “Don’t take life too serious, nobody gets out alive anyway.”
I'm gone in the first minute. Bad audio, highway driving......no thanks. My tip---jump right into the meat of the video.
How do you know the meat of the video wasn’t garbage too if you were gone in the first minute?
I'm not enjoy, cause you much talking and i just Saw your face. I want see full all part of the tree house and how to build it, next time please do better
Sure no problem! I’ll go tear it down and rebuild it in silence just for you! Like and subscribe for 2.0 version!
@@jakefromupstatefarm hehe thank you very much 🤭 sorry.. i just want to know, cause i Will make it one in my house.
Up state ...past Hudson valley goin north in the blue line ...out by Syracuse n buffalo.... that's just western ny ...no reason to use the upstate...just sayin
If we’re being nit picky…Syracuse isn’t Western NY, it’s Central.
@@jakefromupstatefarm O ..ok up state is the adirondacks mang ...in up state even the catskills are refured as down state .
@@nathanking9083 nah. Anything that’s not NYC is considered upstate to the rest of the US
@@andrewbarker4443 I no ..spend a winter in any small town in the adirondacks..the.1 store in town closes at 7pm and the next "town" is 25 mins away an hour if u ur lucky enough to live that close to a big box store ...forever wild
