That’s awesome! Def impressive when courses down here can manage bent. I planted victory AU this year to see if it handles the humidity better so we’ll see! I got pen cross to last until July last year

@@jakefromupstatefarm Ive seen and heard good things about AU.. my base that was built in the 90s is PennG2. We now use 007XL and its pretty darn good we had germination in august when spike and seeding drought spots.. keep it wet in the summer and your good but not too wet or else youll get diseases.. I recommend 007XL though to try out

Not much! Maybe a bit of mulch here and there but it should be good

A bunch of small amounts overtime add up, more for soil structure to aid with drainage in these areas that I just seeded.

its better to Go lighter on the sand and more frequent than to just Cake up your grass with sand and potentially hurt it..

I can’t mow that early, the green is right next to my neighbors bedroom. I knock the dew off to putt then mow later in the day. Wish I could get dew mows in

They fluctuate, I found mine at Walmart and another place had them at 50

@@jakefromupstatefarm no problem man! It’s a pretty minute detail, just gives a better consistency of cut. you don’t want to push the mower forward, but when you lift it up it would probably go forward a bit. You’ll feel a sensation of the mower moving by itself if you do it right.

I’ve seen all the comments you’ve posted and you’re confusing a guy in his backyard who does this for fun, with a real golf course.

@@jakefromupstatefarm the newer types of putting green grass whether it's zoysia, bentgrass or Bermuda have all been bred to do best in sand, that's why almost all putting greens are completely sand with a little peat moss. The old clay greens are becoming extinct because they hold to much water.

I would much rather use sand/peat for root zone but it would be fiscally silly for me especially since I get minimal airflow and the bent is going to die in the Tennessee weather

@@jakefromupstatefarm I'm in Virginia, I get the same weather but I just use fans on my 5,000 sq ft backyard putting green. Bentgrass can handle hot humid climate it just requires hand watering. Some newer cultivars of Bentgrass from tee 2 green have shown to be more tolerant to heat and humidity. Also check out the ultra dwarf zoysia grass, it's 4 new cultivars for greens. They stay green all winter long from what I've read. Bladerunner farms designed these zoysia grasses

@@jakefromupstatefarm You did a good job. I had one of those push mowers. I loved it - it does a neat finish I like and it's good for fitness. If it's done regularly a nice spray of mulch is sprinkled over the lawn. It's very wholesome, all round!
