    I am just getting started in the craft. I watched your early videos and see how you progressed. pretty darn amazing journey. You do a fantastic job in explaining your processes and what works and what doesn't. I have watched many videos of "professional" knife makers and do not get near as much good information as what you bring. I truly appreciate your craft. You have come such a long way. I view you as one of the go to guys for practical info. Thank you so much for all of the content and encouragement. I look forward to future videos. Good luck in your endeavors.Wishing you much sucess.

      I happen to live 20 minutes away and Travis Wuertz was kind enough to throw me 2 VIP passes after I emailed him about checking out a TW-90 at the show, so it was as convenient as it could have possibly been for me.
      I just started doing stock removal about 3 months ago after getting tired of spending money on throwing knives and your channel has been a huge help in setting up my shop! I met a bunch of awesome people at Blade Show who are eager to help out people new to knife making...such an awesome community to be in.
      Keep up the amazing work brother, it does not go unappreciated!

    What an awesome series you provided on your channel! Very informative and very inspirational! I'm only customizing the appearance of knives at the moment but your videos have taught me that with patience and some basic tooling, that a folder knife can be created(I'm eventually going to get a CNC machine). Thank you for taking the time to create these videos, I know how time consuming they can be but this was extremely helpful! Thank you again Mike, really appreciate the advice and steps!😁🤜💥🤛

    Alec Steele mentioned your channel as a source of great info. for learning, and after watching this vid I'd have to say he's right. I'm constantly amazed at the level of talent that can be found on RUclips on so many subjects; this is the first of many of your vids that I intend to watch. As for this knife that you've just finished I personally wouldn't do anything else to it; I'd rather see something is strong and well built (which this knife is) over something that is 'artsy fartsy' and weak and useless. Thank you for the great content. You've earned yourself another subscriber......

    Just spent an afternoon watching the majority of these videos. And I have to say, I love this knife. It looks fantastic. I like the simplicity of the design. And I like the size a lot. It's on the large side but that's a good thing.
    I hope you keep it that size.
    PS....I'm not a huge fan of the guillotine! I like my fingers attached. Ha Ha.

    You're really good at video edditing, your timing is good. A lot of knife guys are just power tool guys, and they don't know their way around software and video stuff so the clips overlap, are too close together or way too far apart.
    Also, that etched spine shit is beautiful, I wanna do that on my knives so damn bad. Thanks for the awesome tutorials man.

    Another excellent video Mike! You were, however, making me nervous by grinding the cutting edge at the top of the wheel. You should get the reversing switch for your VFD, it's only about $17. Then you can sharpen with the wheel running in the opposite direction and won't have to worry about the sharp edge being thrown at you.

    I had an interesting idea for a folding knife. Well, interesting to me. You might think it's stupid. Since I don't really know anything about making folding knives ... it might very well be stupid. So, here's my idea ... make the knife blade about 3 or 4 inches too long so it extends past the bottom of the handle while in the folded position. This essentially makes the folded position into what is essentially a fixed blade since you'd need a sheath to cover it. Basically, in the folded position, you'd have a 3-4 inch fixed blade knife ... but when you unfold it, you end up with a 7-8 inch blade. So, if you need a short blade for doing small whittling or stuff like that, you've got a small fixed blade knife, but if you need a long blade for something like batoning some firewood, you've got that too ... all in the same knife.
    What do you think? Is that cool or stupid? I can't decide. In my imagination, I think "wow, that's awesome" ... then I start to think fo the more practical aspects and I start to doubt myself.

    • @FlorianSojka
      @FlorianSojka 4 года назад

      That is interesting but also odd. It would be difficult to make it so it is an ergonomic knife in both positions.

    Hey Mike, very good content in your video, I like your style. I do have a couple questions for you, The first is, what stropping compound are you using. The second is what speed are you using, on your KMG grinder with the X 45 belt to sharpen, I thought it looked like 30. Also , Jeremy pushed me over the edge, and now I own a wicked edge system. Thanks again for the videos.
