In the Summer of 1981, I was just entering my Freshmen year at U.of H.. I knew a guy that had a girlfriend that was away on the mainland for school. He was going nuts because his girlfriend would not call or send him letters. Although the guy was emotionally a wreck, he survived by the presence of his friends and family. During he first semester at U.of H., that guy asked me to listen to a tune he had wrote... this IS THAT TUNE. Thanks for the memories Cruza. ~Animal
wow. that girl was me. i went away to pepperdine in 1981. john's song is one side of the story. i won't say more because the bigger truth is that i loved john very much. he's a truly good guy. long-distance romance is very hard, and distance does funny things to people. as an epilogue, when i went to visit him in boston in the late 80's, and was ready to spend the rest of my life with him - because he was truly the best guy i had ever known - he said no. my poor heart!
