I'm a classical singer and teacher from Vienna, so very grleatfull for her book "Develop yourown voice", I reed it in German language. It changed my whole perspective of singing and of the body as our instrument. It would make a huge difference when someone explaned it to me, as I started to cultivate my voice many years ago in a school. Thank you very much for this interview!
This is such an important and wonderful discussion. All these years later, I think Kristin Linklater is still the greatest voice teacher at work today. I strongly recommend her book "Freeing the Natural Voice" to anyone - not just theatre people - but anyone interested in developing voice. Voice is such an invaluable part of our lives, but too often neglected. Someone once said, "Your voice is your second face." Anyway... Thank you so much for sharing this!
I have that wildness too, travel to NYC and no idea how will going. But I trust in myself, is my nature. When I think something my brain say to me: LET´S DO IT!! looool Thanks for this wonderful interview, I´m completing my university TFM about voice, thanks a lot!!!
This woman lived for her work and so it now feels inevitable that the forbiddings of the outbreak would take their huge toll. I think Kristin, who represented a lineage in the theatric vocal arts, was the last great voice teacher of the 20th. Tragic loss
