Hi Nathaniel, James here. Ya know, I'm 58 and I've heard and seen a lot of things, and I must say Sir, that you are exceptional. It's not just anyone who can give me goosebumps... Lari Basilio, Marco Sfogli, Silvia Boschiero, Claudio Petronik, Al de Miola, etc, and now, yourself. That was not only awesome, but inspiring. Much Respect m8...
Here where I live in MO., every farmer or land owner (including myself), will have entire stands of Black Walnut trees. Henry Firearms gets their walnut from here. I’ve never had a chance to play a walnut backed guitar. I’ve played that “Eco-friendly”, Martin with Cherry Wood & to be honest it blew me away w/its crispness & volume. The tortoise shell binding also made it look “top shelf”!
Fantastic guitar, bought one last month. Top, back and sides all solid wood. Compared it to more expensive Taylors and kept coming back to the Martin. Factory setup also spot on and plekk’d so fretwork is perfect.
@@kellyschmei yes, and that was played on a tele with an additional G string (which was then tuned down a semi) in-liu of the b string. This arrangement is slightly different since it would've been impossible to get adequate sustain on an acoustic at the 3rd & 4th frets for the harmonics. That g string workaround on the tele was in itself a workaround to get more sustain by using a wound string.
I don’t play the guitar although I wish I did. But for those who do and those who understand the little nuances of being a great guitarist, this guy is incredibly talented right? How could someone be better than this? Just honestly and genuinely curious.
Nathaniel Murphy is beyond incredibly talented. His technique is second to none. The understanding and use dynamics within his playing puts him at a level most can only dream of achieving - watching videos of him playing is a joy. When guitar players are at this level, it’s hard to quantify how they are better than each other. In fact, it’s not even worth it. Check out Tommy Emmanuel if you haven’t already, his playing will blow you away.
Good tune… very dark… have been waiting for something a bit different in the soloing department, but, Sam sticks with the theme with same runs and speed picking. Love his guitar work over the last decade plus but a lot of it is sounding too similar (shredding solos). IMHO… not saying that it’s not good, just similar guitar work on many albums.
Nathaniel really should release an album of his best instrumental covers. They are always incredible.
Yes yes yes yes 💯 🎯 ❤💯 🎯
What he said! I'd order it today.
This resonated so deeply in my soul. Perfection. No words.
Great version of a great song. Nathaniel is a straight beast player. WOW thanks!
Beautiful!!!!

Those Walnut-backed guitars are great.

This is one of the best things I’ve ever seen. What a legend
More instrumental covers! This is a great idea and well done.
As always.. Just great playing, tons of soul. Thanks!
Nathaniel, you are an astonishingly good artist! 🙏
I have that same guitar but with a cutaway and I absolutely love it! But I wish it made me play this good.
Beautiful Taylor and playing
Everything he touches turns into Gold ! God bless you man ! Thank you for making my day bearable .

Nathaniel Murphy never fails to impress.... Taylor has beautiful instruments.

Fenomenal!
Wow! I’m inspired and envious.

Absolute tune 👌🏽 and still swooning
Mate, you needs to play this version out in some atmospheric woods, or on top of a mountain with a fox
Beautiful!

Outstanding, great performance. I would like to play like that, but I don't even know how to tune that way.,
Nathaniel Murphy just got you a customer right here. 👏
Gorgeous. Love it :)
Mesmerizing and compelling. And thanks for playing a guitar that the average joe can afford. The tone is in the fingers.
I love it
Wow puts my Gibson j45 to shame
Great rendition of that song
Now that's how to play a Taylor guitar!! 🥇
Go Nathaniel!
Meu sonho de consumo é ter um Taylor! 😥😍
OMG excellent my friend 🙌🇬🇧

Cool trills.
This fellow is a wise guy for sure. Wow.
Amazing! What microphone is that?
What kind of guitar tuning is this ? It sounds so beautiful !
I wanna say he said it was open E but with the b string tuned down to f# or something like that
This guitar is bad ass
my god the guitar is beautiful
Great job! Open tuning?
Bad ass
You are the boss of finger style. Always pleasant to ear.
Fantastic playing, but he was using a pick.
@@mrmoonray Hi hi ! You're right ! Sorry. He's a Master ! With or without a pick. Musicality, emotion and virtuosity.
Divine
What sort of tuning is he playing?
I reckon open E?
He posted a comment on his own video that it’s indeed open E, bit with the B string tuned to F# instead of G#
E B E F# G# E

The words are kinda creepy so this is the best rendition
Wow, that sounds amazing. Pity my 314ce will never sound that good, not the guitars fault, its the player.
Yeah, slightly better than my version 😳
such. LOVE !¡!!!¡!¡!!!!!!!!¡?¡!!!!
Looking up my ancestors because my name is Monica Veillette😮
I hate Springsteen’s music, but this is a great arrangement. The Taylor sounds great too!
