As someone who likes to breakdown my opponent's strengths it's easy for me to see what is most dangerous about Buakaw. And he's a got little trick with 3 of this techniques that make it so hard to defeat him.
Today we look at that and I explain just why it's so dangerous.

I can confirm that you are pronouncing his name absolutely correctly. บัวขาว: บัว = Bua (You can break this down in to 2 steps - Boo + Ah), ขาว = Kaw (pronounce the same way you would “cow”).
Cheers for the clarification man. I know many will appreciate that
Isn’t kaw the thai word for knee?
@@juanmejiagomez5514 for buakaw kaw means white
@@juanmejiagomez5514 Yes, the word for knee in Thai is “เข่า” which is pronounced like “Cow”. Also the color white which is part of Buakaw’s name is “ขาว”, also pronounced like “Cow”. Although there are differences in the “tone” pronounced when speaking in Thai. :)
@@juanmejiagomez5514 khao is for knee
He actually had very good head movement back in the day too combined with good eyes and reflexes.
I agree. His ability to pull his head out of the way of kicks and punches was exceptional in his prime
Truly agree. Its quite obvious that youre a huge buakaw fan and really studied his style.
His clinch elbows are insane too. Great video! Thanks.
Brilliant video.
These technical videos for me are what sets your channel apart. They make me feel like i am starting to understand the bigger picture of martial arts.
^
I thought Buakaw was left-footed and that was the explanation for his phenomenal left kick but I just looked for a video of him playing football/soccer and he is actually right-footed
If you practice too much,left-right goes away
I Couldn’t kick with my left leg. But when i moved to another flat,i tied my pad to a piller. The piller is in a position Where left kicking is easier than right. 1 year has passed, now my left kick is 100x better (yeah i slacked on the right one)
I will never get tired of videos related to buakaw. He is the legend
Love the bent knee roundhouse, Gabriel just broke it down on Hard2Hurt too
It's also good to mention that it's not just the impact of the round kick,
but he's still straightening his leg as it lands,
so that it drives into the opponent's body,
and the push gives his leg some spring back
for fast withdrawal/reset.
And that when he's doing that, it's not pushing straight in, but springing through. The point of contact and direction of force rocks slightly on impact.
More Buakaw videos please!!
i can t miss a vid by Mr Varga about Buakaw! he fought like a southpaw, that's why he won (strong left leg). i think his mentor was Namsaknoi the emperor who fought the same way.
Great video!, I’ve always been told the bent leg kick was called Tae Tong, utilising the shin to crash into the opponent
He also does side teeps and jumping teeps and flying knees and high kicks. He also is a master of non-telegraphic moves
Excellent video Mr Varga, thanks for sharing your knowledge, do Saenchai next! What makes him so formidable? Is he just smart and tricky? Nice shorts!
Lovin it, how you are the same fanboy like me,
but you can even explain why buakaw is so good
Very good video for dummies like me. Easy to understand. Appreciate❤
I saw an interesting jomboy video in which he explained the effectiveness of a pitcher to throw strikes because he could deliver balls in different areas of the strike zone even while releasing the ball the same way.
Thus the batter couldn't predict the ball trajectory based on the release.
This appears to be the same phenomenon.
LETSGOOOOO LETSFUCKINGOOOOO
it's one of the good things macgregor had, pretty much all his lead side strikes started the same way, very non-telegraphic.
I love that you cross reference your videos.
Sam-A has been putting clinics on farangs recently. I'd love to see a breakdown of his approach.
my next opponent is a short, stocky power puncher. i guess i can use some of the tips. Thankssss Champ
Good luck
look FOR superbon channel. he explain how to beat this kind of fighter. (Gregorian , Petrosian)
Good luck bro💪🏾
thanks guys
btw Round 1 tko via elbow 🔪🔪🔪
thanks for these vids man very helpful 👊
This was a great analysis, reminds me of a video I saw before of how GSP could set up 3 or more options off his jab / feint. If you haven't done a video on it yet, I'd love to heart your take on how to use timing to beat superior speed. How does one develop this sense of timing? Thanks!
Just takes sparring and time to develop timing
Spar with smaller faster people and it comes
Appreciating the analysis!
Yes, Muay Thai has more than one roundhouse. Great analysis
I learn more watching your videos than I do at my gym
Love the new shoes you got there
I’m Thai, you pronounce it right although even when you say his name quickly it does sound a little off but it’s all good !
Gotta like the left leg breakdown
can you do a breakdown of yodsanklai? does yodsanklai wide stance has cons disadvantage when it comes to footwork?
This is the principle why Giorgio Petrosyan and Samart Payakaroon are considered as GOATS. They don't throw flashy or fancy techniques. They're the best because they can implement basic techniques in a variety of ways. It's the philosophical concept of finding a million use for a hammer. How creative can you be, with a single tool?
When I first heard about Buakaw . Roughly 2006 ish. I was told that he was named that after the sound a chicken makes because he fights like a rooster with how he kicks.
บัวขาว Buakaw ออกเสียงดีมากครับคุณแกเบียล
great video

How do I jam someone with my roundkick or teep from close range without pushing myself back?
Buakaw would be a master of the switch foot style. Similar to Saenchai. I believe he is powerful left and right. But he prefers orthodox
Great for shutting down heavy boxer
He's the modern day incarnation of Bill "superfoot" Wallace.
Pronunciation: copy paste this to Google translate and have it text to speech- บัวขาว
More emphasis on the latter syllable, w rising tone.
😎
Please something on mike zambidis!
What happens when u try to catch his kick?
That didn't seem to happen much.
But I do remember seeing him jam the shin across the body and grab there head.
I mean catching it also means that you take most of the impact so you die basically
Buakaw’s left leg is the only weapon that could hurt Saitama.
Guys i got my nose broken the 5th time in 1,5 years. i cant fight in ring because this is setting me back from training and sparring everytime…
i think about to let it remove in turkey like mike perry did. you guys would recommend it?
please honest answers
i have a very long but slim nose. it got wider with every break but its such an blockade to do sparring bc i always think my nose could break anytime again
light sparring, let it recover or dont spar to the head straight-on, ask a doctor
Don't get hit in the nose. Do not think that I'm joking.
Try headgear with nose protection. I really recommend Gabriels video on his favorite headgear (which has noseprotection too):
ruclips.net/video/L4T3uOCw8GQ/видео.html
I think this might really help you.
By the way my nose got bigger too especially from the first year boxing...the more I sparred the less I got hit...working on an active highguard is super important too.
Just let someone throw different combinations at you and you defend in highguard while keeping eye contact (!!!).
Something like this:

Cheers
@@SquaredbyX I have my hands all the time on my face (because of my nose) but its normal that your partner will find a hole and hit you
It’s called front leg…
Will Baukaw dominate MMA in future?
No, he's 40yo and has no grappling
I would expect someone who actually trained with buakaw to know how to pronounce his name better than some random person online.
FIRST
On the ball. Very nice 👍
You also forgot tons os steroids 😂
