Honestly, thank you so much for offering a review of a gun that does not include cluttering add-on toys like optics or a light that prevent me from seeing what it is that I would buy, and that would prevent me from appreciating the actual aesthetics of the gun design.

I see Walther released a 4.5 and 4" version as well. Walther makes excellent pistols
This shooting demo of the steel frame Walther PDP was very well done and super helpful. I just sold my polymer PDP 4” compact because of snappy muzzle ride and slow return-to-zero. But I loved the reliability and the incredible accuracy. With the better trigger and steel frame, I’m gonna jump back onboard! Maybe I’ll try the 4.5”
Only the 5” SF Match comes with the Dynamic Performance Trigger - I was sorta surprised with that
@@stovepipe8966 thanks for that detail. That surprises me too. Doesn’t the PDP Pro SD have the dynamic performance trigger?
The SD Pro does come with the DP trigger.I’m not sure why they released the 4” and 4.5 “ with just the standard trigger. They’re a bit hefty for most folks carry or duty use and gamers would want the trigger. @@gair1944

PDP compact>>PDP pro SD>>PDP match>>PDP match steel frame.
Started out at a world-beating $490 and an easy decision. Added the performance trigger for a buck 80 and end up at the same price as the SD with a few extras. The Next thing I know I am looking at 1700. And imma completely befuddled as to what’s the right choice.

Manufacturing a steel frame like this is costly, I think that's a big part of the increase in price. I suspect (don't know for sure) that the reason the Rival-S costs less is because it's made in Turkey versus Germany, and appears to be a casting versus billet.
I fully understand the reasons for the incremental increase in costs.
I’m just trying to figure out if I should spend the coin for the ballz-Deluxe version or will the basic (not basic performance) version satisfy my inner spoiled child.
My gut says the SD with the trigger and mag well is as good as I deserve.
PPQ SF Q5 is always an option for a cheaper price.

PSA has optics ready for $950. Unfortunately imma in a restricted state and packaged 10 round pistols are few and far between for any firearm and are usually 15-20% more costly than their free cousins. Couldn’t find a 10 round PPQ

I would truly like to see your comparison of the steel frame PDP and the SIG P320 AXG Legion. Had the opportunity to exercise a P320 AXG Legion and was truly shocked at how smooth, flat shooting, accurate and fun the P320 AXG proved to be. Your thoughts and opinion would be greatly valued.

I’d definitely test one of these out for competition is I wasn’t stuck in Canuckistan. Luckily I did get a 5” full sized PDP before the ban and it’s very accurate . I just found it not quite balanced or heavy enough to be my dedicated competition gun .
after putting sprinco springs in the DPT trigger, it's by far the cleanest and nicest trigger to shoot on the planet (for less than $2k)

I think its so superior that the metal version is redundant and extra cost is not warranted. Love the PDP design so much i also have a PDP Compact 4". The Series F was too small for my hand size. Sold it for a H&K VP9 SK 🤣

Are a lot of newer pistols coming with sights that shoot low? I recently got a Gen 5 G17, and it definitely shoots low for some reason. It looks to me this pistol does the same.
Can you test the 4 inch version if it SF makes it significantly more comfortable over the polymer frame? EDIT: I just checked my subscription of you and I have subbed but notifications were off! I did not do that. See if this is widespread.
Which gun shoots flatter and which has the better trigger, the Walther PDP Match steel frame or the Canik TTI?
This sounds like the dream striker-fired gun like the only thing it could do better is a lower bore axis but oh well it excels at everything else.
After reviewing over 400 handguns I think bore axis isn't as big of a deal as people like to make it out to be.

Obviously no fault of the gun, but it is odd that in two of your tests the bullets were not flying straight when they hit target. Were they both the Federal Syntech 147?
Yes, and that load has historically been good. I think I must have gotten a bad box.

@awokeone7997 the reliability of walthers and grand powers arent even in the same stratosphere. All 4 of my grand powers broke

For the price and being a competition gun, it should come with at least fiber optic front sight and a blacked rear one.
I think the assumption these days is everyone buying a competition pistol is going to shoot optics . The iron sight divisions are dying out fast
@stovepipe8966 I get it but for the price you shouldn't have some cheap plastic sights. Even the Shadow 2 compact come with better sights at a lesser price tag.
I don’t disagree but I guess rather than add more initial cost , they decided to let the end user upgrade sights with either an optic or better irons. My experience with S2 sights is they can break or loosen . I had mine optic cut and just took the sights off lol ! @@awokeone7997
I think Alther realized that if people were going to buy this pistol they were likely to get a red dot
The idea Behind “practical Accuracy” is to shoot as soon as the sights recover in strings of 6. Typically that’s going to be at a reactive pace. .30-.50 splits. What you’re doing resembles “group shooting” IMO.
This would be a good midlife crisis gun for me. If only i had $1800 to spare.
