Did you really do this test without getting a sheet of plywood or sheetrock? Unreal. Cmon guys.
The Santa Cruz and Maverick, both have a raised position for the cables on the tailgate. When partially raised, its level with the top of the wheel wells. They both will easily carry a 4 by 8 feet feet.
@@jnicksnewstart That's what they say but isn't the whole point of this test to prove that claim is true?
You would be pretty hard pressed to get 1500 pounds in the Hyundai when you can only put 600 in the bed.
ok-ok those trucks are alright/what about a 2021 mercedes benz sprinter 2500 diesel 2.0 liter /how would compare/the sprinter would get better fuel mileage/thanks much
Wouldn't that van be twice the price of these trucks?
@@gte717v are those truck cheap/those 4 wheel drive/i just want really wanted you guys to test drive a mercedes sprinter 2500 cargo 2021 four diesel 2.0 liter/a 144 wb/which i have /thanks much
Brand new segment, the compact segment? Chevy LUV? Ford Courier? Subaru Brat? VW pickup? The manufacturers abandoned this segment in the US for a long time, but it's definitely not brand new.
Keep up the great work! Your channel has made strides and your podcast is excellent. Great selection of guest and as always very thorough and informative. In the market for a truck and have learned so much here!
Whose the young guy? Tommy's younger brother?
Race them
It would be fare if the s.cruz was tested without the tunnel cover
Yea, this series is a miss, guys.
Would like to compare the Frontier to a modern Dakota BUT.......
Nissan for sure
12:50 thats mostly bs. its 661lbs in the bed on the santa cruz, ONLY. 14:13 AGAIN. also, that santa cruz might be rated to tow that high but any sane person would not tow more than a couple thousand. 14:50 should have been mentioned WAY earlier in the video.
the 660lbs only in the bed has been repeatedly disproven. It can take full payload in the bed.
I dont understand why we havent seen any actual offroad tests for the Frontier yet. Big RED flag 🚩 To compare it to trucklettes like the Ridgeline and Santa Fe. Even bigger RED flag.
I'd still buy the Nissan over the Hyundai
And why is a body on frame "proper" while unibody is not. Proper is a word not to include if you are aiming for non bias.
