    Hey Seth, no apologies necessary for a "slow" couple of weeks. I find your trail maintenance videos just as interesting and educational as your feature builds. In fact, I'd love to learn more about exactly how you choose your paths. Like why you cut through one log, but might choose to go around another. How do you decide where to make a trail turn?

      Okay there is a few reasons that this might not work. Seth said that it is steep down there and only 90m long. That doesn’t leave much room. Also it probably will take a long time and a lot of dirt to make it. I think he might build a tech trail of some sorts down there instead of a jump. He has the airbag trail as a big jump and there’s already a lot of them.

    Seth, you’re one of the people who helped me get into mountain biking and inspired me to start trying to build trails. I worked with my school and now there are trails there and tons of people I know and people I don’t know are riding there. Yesterday I was digging and a couple came up with two kids. The mom said she couldn’t believe how much better they had gotten. She said just a few weeks ago they were on trailing wheels and now they were riding the trails and comfortable on their bikes. Keep up the awesome work. You inspired that and because of you more people are getting int mountain biking. Not just the people who watch your videos.

Maybe its because I'm jealous of all the landscaping or handy projects you tackle on the way, and Id love a place of my own to landscape as I see fit. The Alaskan Mill was a really awesome gadget, I'd love to see any more landscape/building gadgets you end up using for the steep Moonshangle parts!! (My suggestion instead of the tiny winch, when you need to move things heavy try using pulleys/snatch blocks to help make it easier! It will be a great way to keep simple mechanics into your builds, while also sharing some less common techniques! Destin of Smarter every Day has a great pulley video)

    Ive been building downhill trails around my house for years and if i could give you one suggestion id would be make a gravel road or even just a trail along the property line. It gives you a general idea of the area your working with and prevents u from going in ur neighbors property

    • @chrisdauria61

    • @evan6.7
      @evan6.7 4 года назад +7

      Chris Dauria just bc theres no house next to him doesnt mean the person who owns the land wants him making trails there. I live in tye woods just like him with no houses around and the land owner next to me puts cameras out. And building a gravel around the perimeter also gives you better access to the mountain bike trails to bring in equipment and supplies
