Some of these comments are so harsh, this is excellent work. Anybody looking at this should be able to tell how much prop placement and detail work has gone into creating the atmosphere of this rail line, so don't just say the elevation changes are unrealistic and leave it at that. Also people, please be aware that it's often impossible to get realistic rail infrastructure in CS because of size limitations and how the game works. CS was never designed with good-looking rail networks in mind, so it takes a lot of effort to get anywhere close to real life. That being said, it is true that some of the elevation changes, junctions and curves are unrealistic but this is a WIP in Cities Skylines, not a railroad sim. Well done!
Technically speaking that is not his fault... it's a simulation glitch... there should be a train stop light like in real life. The game engine is old and needs re-write. Not gonna happen though
Yes. And German train destination displays showing München Hbf at the start of the video. Not very japanese. And the track gauge is wrong at start, I guess european gauge, changing later to japanese gauge. Very unrealistic.
Lol people taking piss because of the trains glitching and driving through each other, which is the games doing and no fault of the designer forgetting the stunning work that's gone into this!!!!! Wow it looks amazing
You don't think that maybe most of them are just having fun with the fact that the trains did phase through each other? Really, man. Sometimes I think too many people these days can't handle anything that even remotely resembles negativity.
@@aaronyandell2929 No, I don't think that. A lot of people are complaining how unrealistic this video is and giving the uploader a hard time by pointing out every little thing wrong with the video. There's a difference between constructive criticism and just being rude.
Amazing level of detail! Great work and editing. Appreciate all of the prop placement (which is so tedious) and how realistic all of the train line paths look. C:S can be so challenging.
Imagine being able to actually replicate the largest city on Earth if the area on C:S would be enough. That would be the most painful yet satisfying build in the history of C:S. This is amazing work. The level of detail is already amazing. Hope to see more
Truly beautiful design on the city. With that ssid, I too laugh at the 3.37 moment. While fully understanding it had nothing to do with the creators design and everything to do with glitch. Truly nice work. I bow to your skill.
That's a real priviledge to experience something that I would never dare to do in real life. I hope that real career/life advancement comes from such amazing work.
I still can't figure out someone would spend their time building this highly detailed city. Not to mention the amount of effort to record and edit this video. As a CS beginner, I am honoring your time and effort you put into this masterpiece. Awesome, just awesome.
Impressive work! The attention to detail is stunning. Great use of assets and props to create an excellent representation. Endless hours of patience in producing this masterpiece. Thanks for sharing this inspirational city build.
Manslaughter by locomotive is a real. The only case that has been charged (asfar as i a aware) was after an engineer hotboxed his locomotive and pulled out onto a mainline
So much nostalgia! I lived in the Tokyo area for 11 years, and I spent a lot of time on trains: Shonan-Shinjuku Line, Tokaido Line, Negishi Line, Sotetsu Line, Keikyu Line, Yamanote Line, and so much more. The sounds were perfect. It's been over 5 years since I lived in Japan, but it still feels like yesterday. Wish I could still be there.
This is one of the best a) cities b) train rides in YOUR OWN PERFECTLY DESIGNED city and surroundings!!!! Amazing work, please give us morer of this 🔥🔥🔥
Masterpiece. Even more if you realize that this game wasn't developed primarily as railroads simulator nor was supposed for 1st person view. Hats off to this player-architect and mods/assets developers as well as to game creators.
Beautiful cinematic and city. Nice work. But I can't help myself from saying that when theoretical physicists say that matter cannot occupy the same space twice, they actually meant something like what the trains did. LOL. I enjoyed the ride.
Everything is so detailed I was actually fooled this was as real as it gets! Amazing work. Though I wonder if there is a mod that can make the train runs on left hand traffic. Would look perfect if it does!
I've never been to Japan and to be honest I don't really care about Japan, except maybe from some movies like Lost in Translation or Grave of the Fireflies. But because of your craft, now I have profound admiration for Japan's infrastructure! Thanks for the upload. This is a piece of great new knowledge to me!
Superb train ride! All the stations are very realistic. Even so, I prefer the station of Chiba; the view on the mountain in the background is splendid.
absolutely love this! I recognize the last bit from my holiday in Tokyo. Traveling between Shibuya and Tokyo. absolutely amazing. One thing though that keeps bugging me... the map is on right-hand drive, and in Japan they drive on the left! ^^"
right-hand traffic in japan, hmmmmmmm one tip for railways would be less elevation, some of it is a bit too much the comments and jabs left aside though , the map looks good the building placements and road structure are pretty well done
The Right-hand traffic is actually intentional, hehe. Thank for your advice on track elevation. I'm aware it but it will take time to fix it due to the track's surrounding area is full of buildings.
So amazing! Unbelievable that it was made by non-Japanese... Would have been better if you chose only JR East trains (tons of JR West or non-JR trains in this video), set to left-hand traffic and coined some completely fictional town names (too different from the real stations that it gets less immersive). Anyway, the landscapes are so detailed and beautiful! Huge respect for your fantastic job!
Reminds me of how I used to travel all the say out to Chiba only to complete the JR stamp rally haha Btw, how did you get the train announcements and is there a way of having departure melodies as well?
Great video! Love the detailing and editing. I have to say though, besides the crash many have already mentioned, there's also a couple things I noticed: - You've also jumbled up a lot of the locations (Too many to list. For example, Shin-Urayasu isn't at all close to Shinjuku and Tokyo). - 1:01 the train on the left is a JR Central train, not sure what that's doin' in Tokyo Station! - 1:04 the train on the right is one of the older stocks which can't be spotted in the Tokyo area. (same at 1:12 on the left) - 1:28 Yayy!! Finally a JR East train!! But shortly after at 1:41 that is a JR West train which again can't be seen in Tokyo - 1:48 I think that's a Yokohama Metro train, but I'm sure that it's not a JR train So for most of the video I see a lot of JR West/Central trains that don't actually appear in Tokyo. Then at 6:06 there's a foot crossing between two platforms which is just not a thing in Tokyo (also - Yatsu Station is not a JR station, is it?) - 6:52 rail crossing! Exists, but rare. - 7:27 that's a Tokyo Metro train which rarely runs overground in central Tokyo - 17:28 Freight train! Rare - 19:08 Never seen that train before. It looks like a limited express train - 20:43 Station staff: "Stand behind the yellow line!" Cims: "how about NO" Sorry haha I don't mean to trash on your work, just a few things I noticed. Fantastic video nevertheless
For the station name, due to my city is not based on any specific city in Japan, so I just take it randomly to make it more "Japanese". Same to the train. I guess it would make the Japanese audience frustrated but I hope from time to time with more comments and advice like yours I would make my city and my video closer to realistic Japan :D
If only Tokyo actually looked like this. The one thing I dislike about Japanese cities is the complete lack of greenery. They're literally the definition of concrete jungles. Nice job though.
