    Bird needs to go. No way can someone like him hang around players who will retire with $200m in the bank and yet do not care about winning....and so many Pacers are not on the Bird wavelength when it comes to success. Get out Larry, we love you. Lose some weight, go running with Parish, live a long time, and let us enjoy you for many more years!

    Ego once against screwing things up. People are too concerned about who's in charge and hurt feelings to bother with little details like... winning. That goes for both Larry Bird and Paul George.
    Larry can't get Paul enough help.
    Paul can't make a shot late in games to win the game.
    You know what? In life, problems have a way of following you around from place to place. Because all the problems you face in life are inside of you, not outside like most people would like to think.

    • @thebeast12333

      Or perhaps he knows Paul George is simply not that guy

    • @unguidedreaper7763
      @unguidedreaper7763 7 лет назад

      Qichar it really isn't Larry Bird's fault. The Pacers aren't exactly a hotspot for free agents. And when it comes to wanting to win, Larry Bird is right up there with Jordan. Paul George as a player needs to push himself to want to win and be a leader. There's no leader there and it reflects in there style of play and chemistry as a team.

    • @matttheknicksfan
      @matttheknicksfan 7 лет назад +1

      Unguided Reaper bird gets a piece of the blame, if u think u cant fulfill your duties than dont apply to work somewhere. look at magic, bum jackson, i guess even mj. they expect their name to lure in fa's and thats where they go wrong. magics results arent in yet, obviously, but if pg ends up a clipper and russ stays in okc then.... you know? you gotta have more than just a name or 2 and/or a big market

    • @Qichar
      @Qichar 7 лет назад

      +Unguided Reaper
      You have a point if the world worked off intentions and not results.
      I'm sure at some point when they were deciding if Bird was the guy for the job, they took into account his history as a player, and the power of his name in drawing free agents. I'm sure some young players might be star-struck to shake hands with Bird. And what did Bird do to assure management that he could put together a winning team? Whatever pitch he gave, we haven't seen it materialize as results.
      Eventually, they are going to judge your ability at a job by the results. Fair or not, small market or not, employers have a tendency to delegate blame downwards. With authority comes responsibility, and the GM is responsible for recruiting talent. If he's going to say something obnoxious like "Paul George doesn't decide who plays here," the next obvious question is, "Well, who's responsible for this roster that had zero chance of competing for a championship for the last X years?" Yeah, that would be Bird. The buck has to stop somewhere, and the owner being the one writing the paychecks is also the guy who gets to decide, right?

    • @thebeast12333
      @thebeast12333 7 лет назад

      Nothing he said about Paul George was obnoxious. Instead of thinking he's in charge he should worry about not choking on the court and actually leading like the star on a team is supposed to. Bird has a winners mentality Paul George does not it's easy to see Bird's annoyance with him.

    If the Pacers are smart they should trade him this summer so they don't lose their franchise player for absolutely nothing. That would crippling for a small market team that is never going to attract any big time free agents. If they have an opportunity to get some talent and a good draft pick, they have to do it!!!

    No one is going to give you valuable assets in return for a season rental. No matter where George goes, hes opting out. So this "you can still make a trade" thing Chris was talking about is nonsense. Only thing you're getting back is expiring contracts and a 2nd rounder if you're lucky.

      @crhuynh8 7 лет назад

      Many Faced God don't forget lebron betrayed and bailed out his hometown, best friend and team twice, known as the frozen one in big stage, Allen and kryie and nba rig saved his legacy twice, but worst of all, being exposed that lebron needed to have two super team and all time highest and unlimited payroll just to compete in the weaker conference.
      Smh what a pity 😭that the truth is that a superstar like lebron needed to be babysitting by Nba all his career. Most physical gifted with the least accomplishment without the help of nba to rig and market him

    • @mannymatencio1279
      @mannymatencio1279 7 лет назад

      Many Faced God is that so for his whole career staying on the east side. why he doesnt want to go west where real competition is tough.

    • @manyfacedgod8815
      @manyfacedgod8815 7 лет назад +2

      He was born in Ohio and got drafted by Ohio.. loves his city and went back after leaving Miami. He went to MIA to beat Boston and their big 3, who also is in the East... don't see any point in going to the west. And it's no point to try and use that as a argument to degrade his career accolades. KD on the other hand went to the team that he had to worry about.. nobody else in the west would challenge OKC like GS did.. and he knows nobody else is coming out the east but LeBron.. and he knows his team in OKC would probably get backdoor swept again like they did in 2012.. so he joined GS.. the NBA is LeBron, no matter how you want to say it or put it..

    ESPN obviously would like to watch Paul go to the East Coast or West Coast...Typical garbage, Larry Bird fought for small market teams to be able to keep their franchise player. This is the type of thanks that small market teams get that don't sit super stars and tank to get the top prospects. Larry did great finding the talent that he fell at. Paul George the highest draft pick Indiana has had in forever...9th or 10th overall, something like that.

  • @cnrhdly
    @cnrhdly 7 лет назад +6

    Love Chris but he's wrong on this. PG to LA wouldnt be about lifestyle. He does honestly love the state of Indiana and loves being almost out of the limelight. Palmdale(where he grew up) is a secluded area away from the big city. Im not by any means saying that for these reasons he's going to want to stay, but they aren't the reason he wants to go.

  • @joonant1

  • @trumpdon3395
    @trumpdon3395 7 лет назад

    they got swept but every game was close. Pg13 did not take his team over the top. Pg missed two free throws to win last regular season game. Then embarrassed himself and teammates in the playoffs. He disgusted Larry Bird who knows what it takes. He saw that and said I'm out
