    Rob ... I 'think' you needed to drill holes in the bottom of your carbon "rear seat side panels" to mount your top case rack, and if so how did the drilling of them go? Thanks ... Looks great!

    • @itsadyerthing
      @itsadyerthing  9 месяцев назад +1

      Nonono absolutely not. The side lower seats attached to the main plastic side covers and are in front of where the mounting points are for the factory rear rack. This rack is from yamaha not the same as first generation of mt10 where if you went aftermarket youde be using the sides.. this rear rack is the exact same for mt09 2nd gen and for both Gen mt10. It's the Yamaha one. If you looking aftermarket then go with 2nd gen 2017 to 2020 mt09. It will work on you mt10 with the 4 mounting location underneath. There are pre marked sections on the plastic black factory under covers showing where you cut. This allows access to the mounting points in your subframe.
      Here's a oldie but a goodie.

      @@itsadyerthing Thank you, and after looking up under the sides again I'm sorry I bothered you with the silly question! Thank you for answering, tho! Oh, one more please: I find the MT-10 SP to be easily the most difficult bike to keep clean that I've ever had! The black surfaces show every spec of dirt, and the lack of a fairing means bugs splat on all kinds of intricate, hard-to-reach surfaces that never get hit on a bike with a fairing ... anyway, my question is: Do you think the carbon surfaces are better at hiding dirt? ... ie less likely to show every little spec? Thanks again ...

    • @itsadyerthing
      @itsadyerthing  9 месяцев назад +1

      @jeffgehman8344 absolutely for sure helps keep the dust and dirt look off compared to black. Even cleaning black you end up with black swirls. It's black..touch to deal with regardless. She's a sexy bike but yes a real dirt and dead bug magnet lol. I use ceramic coat spray wax on my products. They help a lot! There's one from Turlewax that is really good.
      Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Pro Flex Car Spray Wax 680ml 53706 - Graphene Infused Detailing Spray. A big help !

      @@itsadyerthing Great, thanks again! And I actually already have and use Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions ceramic spray. Lets me wipe bugs right off. I just don't wanna have to do it as often! 😆 Thanks again, 'preciate it ...

    Enjoyed your video!
    I also ‘secured’ the older model Yoshi slip on for my ‘22 MT10. Installed it without anything 😅 what is this ‘aluminum gasket tape’ you speak of? Thanks 😊

    • @itsadyerthing
      @itsadyerthing  Месяц назад

      @Ralphy20000000000011 was just aluminum heat resisted tape. Some use it for heater vents etc. I found that ours, our pipes was a tad smaller. Only by mm's we used the Yosh RS MT series. Was a special project build joined by Yamaha and Yoshimura. I doubt there would be any leak regardless but would be a wiggle if one trys. Wiggles are never good lol.
      Cheers and happy to hear you're rocking the MT10. What a fun bike !!

    Hey, sorry for carbon newb questions, but it looks like the carbon front fender is the actual fender, meaning it's not a cover and it actually replaces the OEM fender? Is that true of all of these carbon parts? Thank you ...

    Also, do you happen to know if there is an adapter for the Yamaha rack you have that fits Givi's Monokey system? I have a Givi V47 top case and am hoping to re-use it.

    So if you where to raise the bars any more then 25mm you would have to get after market cables for throttle brake and clutch??
    Have the same bike and im thinking about raising bars as much as possible without replacing cables and leads
    Cool chanel and cool bike
    Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺

    • @itsadyerthing
      @itsadyerthing  Год назад +1

      Oh yes. The 25mm is maxed out as it is. One would have to do replace your cables and do cable management of the harness...

    • @itsadyerthing

      Both parts and shipping. I can't recall the numbers exactly but was well worth the haggle with the seller on Ali. I have other videos also showing instalation and thoughts of the product

    Nice build. QUESTION: How is the WIND NOISE at speed with that screen? My current Yamaha FJR has creates a terrible roar... and I've become freaky about this. Is this setup here REASONABLY quiet?

    • @itsadyerthing
      @itsadyerthing  Год назад

      Yeah it's a tough bind with tye FJR where you have to either tuck or stretch cause finding the happy medium is tough. Even going with the touring shield on the FJR doesn't seem to be a big change. We'll that's all in regards to the rider hight..
      Sometimes having no shield is better than one that does work. This one I have on the MT10 is the touring shield from Yamaha and helps cut the wind and pressure off your torsos but your head and helmet are in direct wind so you do benefit from a good lid that's aerodynamic. Better to have clean wind than turbulent.. so yes windy but not buffering... no sounds either..

    • @888jackflash
      @888jackflash Год назад +1

      Thanks for that informative reply. I also own an older Bandit 1200S (half-faired).. the windshield size is roughly equivalent to what is shown on the MT-10 here; I've ridden it for years and while it is not "quiet", the wind noise is not deafening, which is what I require from any bike.

    • @itsadyerthing
      @itsadyerthing  Год назад

      @@888jackflash ah. The old Bandit ! She was awesome. Silly question and I'm sure you do. But I sure hope you are wearing custom fit ear plugs ! If not then tisk tisk..... maybe that is something you should look onto it if you don't. Makes a world of difference!

    • @888jackflash
      @888jackflash Год назад

      @@itsadyerthing Thanks... Normally I do NOT wear earplugs, never have, for 50 years of riding around the world. My hearing is.. ok.. have lost some highs; but I prefer noise-reduction earBUDS, so that I can play music. The only time I use earplugs these days is if the wind is against me on the FJR.

      Here is where I got the exhaust cover..

    So why'd you go with the Mt10 over something like the Tracer 9? I haven't really understood the naked bikes, personally. They're not ideal for long highway cruising compared to sport touring bikes and they're not great for tracks compared to fully faired bikes. Nonetheless, it's a beautiful bike and the quality is insanely good. I'm just curious about your thought behind naked bikes.

    • @itsadyerthing
      @itsadyerthing  Год назад

      I'm kinda totally opposite, I prefer to get a naked bike and add to it to make it a touring than be a touring bike that I cannot take off. I've had many CP3 engines with multiple MT09S Throughout the years and yes they are a great but the feel of the CP4 cross plan engine is just a feeling you don't get tired of. I had previous generation MT10 and regretted selling it the moment I did !
      As for milage and fuel consumption. They are not as bad as people say they are. I ride a lot with my buddy John and he has a 2018 MT09. I can honestly tell you that on average when we gas up whether we are half tank or almost empty. I may put 2 bucks more so really only a few litres of fuel difference but when compared to what you get. Ide be more than happy paying a few bucks more and still ride the same as what I did when I had my previous MT09 etc....
      Yes going fast you do really know that you're riding a naked. But we don't ride fast all day so you do adapt to it pretty quickly. My MT10 will be up for sale come end of Sept and yes I'll be ordering another new MT10. No desire to go different style. When I want to tour I'll simply gear up my luggage for what I want to do. When I want street fighter naked then it's all off. That's the best part and using factory equipped products it's really only a matter of mins to go from one style to the next.
      I guess each to their own. Hope you get the opportunity to try many models so you can see what they have to offer for you. Let's hope that Yamaha starts the POWER TOUR again soon. !!
      Cheers
      Rob

      @@MrWhoabuddy my peer just received his 2024 Tracer gt plus and is in love yet also owns the 23 XSR9. And had a number of different yanaha bikes like FJ09 etc... very happy he is. Yeah if you already have play bikes then I clearly can see why a Tracer 9GT would be a right choice for those who want to get out ans stretch the legs and go for miles with comfort and confidence that there will be no troubles on the way.
      I normally keep the bikes and flip them ever end if summer. It's a way for me to keep my investment up to date and equal while at the same time I allows me me to offer a great bike as a reduced price to future owner. Since I've been working for Yamaha for 23 years we are very lucky to have a good employee price that allows us to play and pass on the deal of our own personal bikes to public. Thus only real reason why I ride Yamaha.. 😉
