🔥 In this series, I vlog my daily practice routine as I work towards becoming a metal musician, learning guitar, synth, piano, and vocals. Along the way, I document my struggles, progress, and thoughts on extreme metal. I also talk about my projects, including my goth rock band and my black metal band, which I’m in the process of starting.
💀 Day 1-9 Recap:
🎸 I learned my first electric guitar song (Dunkelheit by Burzum) and connected it with my piano skills.
🖤 I recreated Mayhem’s ‘Freezing Moon’ cover art as a digital drawing, inspired by my interest in tattoo art.
🎶 I explored black metal on multiple instruments, including electric ukulele, and even tried singing Transilvanian Hunger.
🎤 I tackled black metal vocals and struggled with time signatures in Mayhem’s ‘Pagan Fears’.
🎹 I played Dissection’s ‘No Dreams Breed in Breathless Sleep’ on piano and experimented with layering synth.
🤘 I jammed on Death’s ‘Zombie Ritual’ and labeled my guitar fretboard like a piano to improve my learning.
🎤 I played a goth rock gig, dealt with McDonald's employees laughing at my face paint, and watched a punk band stab themselves on stage.
🔥 I also started working with friends on a blackened death metal project while learning how to use my Korg KO2 EP 133 and UnoSynth for my goth rock band.
