Creative Cruciform Compositions
Welcome Back to Another BobBlast!
The featured composition this week is the Cruciform Design.
Three elements I start with before beginning a painting:
•Conceptual Idea - I start by looking through my sketchbooks
•Color Combination - I start with my Goof-Proof Color Wheel
•Composition - I use my 16 Design Composition Chart
I have gathered sixteen composition design ideas for reference. This BobBlast is about choosing one of those compositions… the Cruciform Design Composition, which is a universally recognized graphic design.
The Cruciform Composition is also referred to as a Cross Design-one brushstroke horizontally and one more brushstroke down the middle. Think of the red cross design. There are variations, however!
The above chart shows my sketches of various Cruciform design ideas.Practice many variations of this Cruciform design. Cross your heart!
