The fact that you correctly got these highly-regarded Politzer Prize literary novels that I've never heard of, and yet got completely stumped by Where the Wild Things Are 🤣
I loved the way Jack was researching Kurara and it's just the way a non English-speaking Japanese person would say Klara. Absolutely loved that. Had me cackling
Me screaming at my phone while Jack misses this!!!! It was one of the only three I got. I DID give up after 5 minutes though and googles nothing… this is a quintessential children’s book in the US. I don’t know how popular it is in the UK, but I would expect most adults in the US to get this one.
Funny, Klara and the sun was the very first clue I solved basically straight away but was totally stuck on others that you sailed through :D Also, what's a bit weird: I also guessed Trainspotting and when I did the test, it was correct. You typed it in wrong (transpotting) so I thought that's why it wasn't accepted but then for you The Railway Children was correct. Seems like they might accept several different solutions as long as they fit the image. Anyway, that was fun :D Well done, Jack, you nailed it! 👏👏
Brooklyn should definitely be on your reading list- it's set in both New York and Ireland (2 key Jack categories) and follows a girl moving between and working out where she belongs
It’s been said below (or above?) but the “Natural History” clue is “Where the Wild Things Are” … the only one I could guess confidently. I was shouting at my screen 😂 … You did so well! Congratulations 🎉👏👏👏
Brooklyn is such a good book!! About the Irish diaspora to the US, growing up, coming of age, making a choice between "home" and a new life, and nostalgia. You'd like it!
I'm absolutely beside myself right now. Where the Wild Things Are was a favorite of mine growing up. I dressed as Max for Halloween IN MY ADULTHOOD, and I actually love the movie adaptation as well. I only got, like, a third of these when I tried the quiz, but that was the first one I recognized.
You'd love Brooklyn, and all of Colm Tóibín's novels (especially The Master). He's got that very Irish writing style where there isn't much plot, but there's really nuanced character development and beautiful descriptions of everyday life.
I was at the edge of my seat waiting for you to guess Klara and the sun. It was the first one I found, but I think I was tipped off by the colours of her T-shirt, as they matched the book cover I had seen in book shops. I had the same reaction as you when I (finally) guessed Demon Copperhead. I was completely stumped by The waste land, and didn’t guess the bunny/monkey book correctly cause I thought it was a bear suit the kid was wearing - and confusingly enough there IS (apparently) a book called Hare vs Bear 🙈
I'm not as up on recent novels. But I got all the ones from older books, including the one that stumped you, "Where the Wild Things Are." Little surprised you'd never heard of "The English Patient", it's not only a famous novel, but it was made into a movie that won the Best Picture Oscar.
@@tinylittleanj2 I’ve watched both for awhile but he has been more like forward and seems to not be watching what he says which I like. It feels like he’s just being more himself.
@@blackraven0513 oh I don’t feel that way at all? I think he’s funny and charming and actually just met him in person at the Barnes and Noble in NYC and he was an absolute gentleman. Get well soon though
This reminds me so much of the mayhem in the library Puzzle! It’s a jigsaw puzzle and the artwork has references (very similar to the clues in this one) to 101 books. it’s so fun
Me sitting here watching you struggle with the Klara and the Sun clue, when it is one of the only ones I got on my own and the FIRST one I got immediately. And I only know the book because you introduced me to it lol
The one you couldn’t get is the one I would’ve recognized immediately (if someone hadn’t already given it away in the comments). Some others I might’ve eventually gotten, but that one I knew right away just from Max’s pajamas and crown.
The trash bin and the lion had me completely stumped. Tbf, I hadn't heard of either of the titles, so it was really hard to guess. Some of them you can guess just from context, but especially the lion was almost impossible. I started just googling random words that sound like lion and beauty 😂 I'm surprised you didn't get Where the Wild Things are! Considering it's a very well-known book, and it's basically the main character in the clue. Then again, I can understand your brain not being in a 'kids' book' frame of mind.
As soon as I saw the Klara and the sun clue, I went to the site, confirmed it was what i thought it was, and went back to the video, that one and tomorrow x3 are the only ones I got lmao
I lost it at him gradually just roasting the woman with the hat 😭seriously why did they give her that?! I spent half my time being like "the big hat I got on holiday?" "the woman in the big hat?" total red herring tbh
The English Patient is quite well known (To be fair the film is more well known) and also "Thomas The Tank Engine" and "Night At the Museum" are both books Jack 😅 Yes I like many other commented that last one is "Where the wild things are" ❤ LOVE the film adaptation of Brooklyn, I highly recommend that film at least.
I got 6 then gave up and watched this video instead lol. I was so upset with myself for not getting Demon Copperhead, its literally my fav read of the year!!
Signs I’m an elder millennial: Adults didn’t grow up reading Where The Wild Things Are. Fun fact: On the Hamilton mixtape track ‘I wrote my way out’ there’s a lyric: “My mind is where the wild things are, Maurice Sendak”
I think it might just be a weird gap that Jack has because I’m an older gen z kid who grew up loving Where the Wild Things Are and I know lots of my peers did as well
I think it's not much of a generational thing but a region/interest type of thing? I'm also Gen z and I knew of the book as being very popular but I never really got into it and didn't know anyone else personally who did, but my now adult friends very much grew up loving WTWTA (we just went to a museum exhibition on his work/life)
I tried before watching it and i only got "how to train your dragon" "chemistry classes" and "where the wild things are". Whats funny though, is that where the wild things are is not only the first one i got but i didnt have to think about it at all
the book you didn't get that's clue was natural history was the children's book where the Wild Things Are written by/illustrated by Maurice Sendak he is also the author/illustrator of IN THE NIGHT KITCHEN
Awwww I'm so sad you weren't able to guess Where the Wild Things Are. I only got like 3 and that was one of the easy ones for me... Because I have a 3 year old and have read that book over 30 times this year. The quarter aged young adult cannot be expected to remember all the children's books and doesn't yet have toddlers of their own to remind them of the classics.
I was screaming at the screen for like five minutes!!! It’s WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE by Maurice Sendak. It was my fave kids book as a child. It was literally the first one I got when I took the quiz
Yessss i was gonna recommend a video of you doing this quiz!! I only got 15 this year I think Edit: can’t believe you didn’t get where the wild things are straight away that was one of my easiest. The ones I didn’t get was the lion one, the bin one and the English patient
The fact that you correctly got these highly-regarded Politzer Prize literary novels that I've never heard of, and yet got completely stumped by Where the Wild Things Are 🤣
Is that what it was? That was my only guess from the crown costume and tail without actually looking at the quiz…
It was one of the only ones i got right when i took it 😂
I know, that made me giggle too. It was the first one I got! I was very impressed that he got Demon Copperface though, that was one crazy!
OMG I KNEW IT!!! The whole time I was like “it’s that book about Max” but just couldn’t remember the title 😭
😮😮😮😮😮 7:48
The way I screamed Klara and the Sun at the screen. It's one of the three I got on my own 😂
I spotted it instantly but I love that book
I loved the way he was researching Kurara and it's just the way a non bilingual Japanese person would say Klara. Love it
i was screaming here as well, THATS KLARA AS A JAPANESE QOULD PRONOUNCE HEAR ME OUT JACK!!!!!!
Same 😂
same but only because that’s my favorite book
jack talking about his testicles was definitely NOT on my 2023 bucket list lmao
I loved the way Jack was researching Kurara and it's just the way a non English-speaking Japanese person would say Klara. Absolutely loved that. Had me cackling
me yelling at the screen thinking that you can hear me: WHERE THE WILD THINGS AREEE
That’s what I was thinking especially since it’s the 60th anniversary and a new audio came out with Michelle Obama to celebrate it.
Same!!!
It's MAX, Jack, for fuck's sake! It's Max in his wolf suit when he made mischief of one kind or another. (Mom of two, I was bound to know this) 😄😄
EXACTLY ME
ME TOO!!!! I knew it immediately!!! XD
The one with the natural history clue and the animals is the childrens book "where the wild things are' by Maurice Sendak. Hope this helps!
Me screaming at my phone while Jack misses this!!!! It was one of the only three I got. I DID give up after 5 minutes though and googles nothing… this is a quintessential children’s book in the US. I don’t know how popular it is in the UK, but I would expect most adults in the US to get this one.
@@tiffanyvantine3322 I saw it and it was the first one I guess. I was like ‘oh where the Wild things are.’ It was one my favorite books growing up.
The kid is even dressed the same as in the book 😂 Glad I’m not the only one screaming at the screen!
i was screaming at the screen cuz that was one of the only ones I knew
Yeah, the tail is what made me think that.

Transpotting is a book about gardening when trans, commonly confused but very different.
Brooklyn should definitely be on your reading list- it's set in both New York and Ireland (2 key Jack categories) and follows a girl moving between and working out where she belongs
and has a movie adaptation featuring saoirse Ronan who jack loves! (I assume, I actually don't know if he does)
i did not learn this until now but the Caboodle team can see every single answer you put in
It’s been said below (or above?) but the “Natural History” clue is “Where the Wild Things Are” … the only one I could guess confidently. I was shouting at my screen 😂 … You did so well! Congratulations 🎉👏👏👏
I am CONFIDENT that I’d never get one of these on my own😅
I need to be deeply psychoanalysed for the level of superiority I felt when you didn’t get one I guessed straight away 😂
Brooklyn is such a good book!! About the Irish diaspora to the US, growing up, coming of age, making a choice between "home" and a new life, and nostalgia. You'd like it!

Easiest one for me
I was waiting to see your reaction for finally getting Demon Copperhead, but "Demon Police Face" was just too much lol
You'd love Brooklyn, and all of Colm Tóibín's novels (especially The Master). He's got that very Irish writing style where there isn't much plot, but there's really nuanced character development and beautiful descriptions of everyday life.

finishing this quiz is a real flex
The character in the crown in the corner is the little boy from Where the Wild things are
I took the quiz yesterday and walked away with 10/20 right and was OBSESSIVELY checking your channel for your upload and it has finally arrived!!
Has anyone else noticed how Jack seems to be less censored in his more recent videos? I love it 😂 he’s so funny
It’s just the second channel :)
@@tinylittleanj2 I’ve watched both for awhile but he has been more like forward and seems to not be watching what he says which I like. It feels like he’s just being more himself.

The fact that he didn’t get the only one I instantly recognised from the crown + tail costume 😭😭
This reminds me so much of the mayhem in the library Puzzle! It’s a jigsaw puzzle and the artwork has references (very similar to the clues in this one) to 101 books. it’s so fun

Jack sees 3 children happily reading books about trains...TRAINSPOTTING! LOL!
Where the Wild Tings Are is genuinely the only answer I knew. Loved that book sooo much as a kid.
1:45 Omg these are so cute!
I think it's just "Where the Wild Things are"
As an Early Childhood Educator & book nerd, I find it amusing that the one that stumped you is Where the Wild Things Are 😂
after cain’s jawbone, I’m so ready for this
I am pretty sure trainspotting and transpotting would be quite different haha
I LOVED the marriage portrait, and I think you’ll love it too!

Not me getting the demon copperhead recommendation from YOU and recognizing it before you did 😂
"where the wild things are" was legitimately the only one i got!!
Great job! The English Patient is a very good book and movie. You should try it
the natural history one is where the wild things are. that’s such a childhood thing how could you not get that 😭
Love these. Found them all last year.
9:45
For a moment i thought jack was gonna do an underwear ad 😂
The English Patient bei Ondaatje is also an epic movie... but the novel is just spectecular. Won the '92 Booker Prize. You should read it.
As soon as I saw the Klara and the sun clue, I went to the site, confirmed it was what i thought it was, and went back to the video, that one and tomorrow x3 are the only ones I got lmao
That’s Max from Where The Wild Things Are, by Maurice Sendak.
8/20 by myself.... So impressed how uou sailed through these!
I spent a Sunday afternoon on this it was so much fun!
10:38 I thought this was a reference to the book for the movie 'leave the world behind'
Where the Wild Things Are :) I think it's not a great clue because it depends more on you recognizing Max than puzzling it out based on context
coming back here to say I only started doing this a few years ago because of Jack & this year I won🎉
I only got 5 cause I’m stupid but boy does it make me feel good that I got where the wild things are immediately
I didn't know any of them, so I didn't feel like screaming any answers at my screen :) Some were really cool riddles!
The line of beauty one was so impressive
I do think it's a little mean that the silent patient isn't marked as close. I couldn't get that bestsellers table for the life of me
I lost it at him gradually just roasting the woman with the hat 😭seriously why did they give her that?! I spent half my time being like "the big hat I got on holiday?" "the woman in the big hat?" total red herring tbh
i love that where the wild things are, that outfit is literally so iconic but Jack just swung and miss
anyone else get where the wild things are immediately? screaming at the screen ngl
The first thing I got
I was screaming klara and the sun, where the wild things are and demon copperhead so loud 😂
the way the ONLY one i knew was where the wild things are

The English Patient is quite well known (To be fair the film is more well known) and also "Thomas The Tank Engine" and "Night At the Museum" are both books Jack 😅
Yes I like many other commented that last one is "Where the wild things are" ❤
LOVE the film adaptation of Brooklyn, I highly recommend that film at least.
wher the wild things are and bunny vs monkey were apart of my childhood.
THE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS IN THE BACKGROUND WE ARE SOOO BACK
The confidence with which he typed ‘Transpotting’ made me google if there really was a queer book released with this title this year
for the last one, its where the wild things are!!!
i recognized max right away haha
I got 6 then gave up and watched this video instead lol. I was so upset with myself for not getting Demon Copperhead, its literally my fav read of the year!!
i got demon copperhead instantly, and your 'demon... police... face' made me laugh so hard

I dont read books, but I was a huge fan of Where the Wild Things Are groeing up. Hehe. Its too bad you didnt get that one.
where the wild things are! mildly infuriating watching you not get that and klara and the sun those were the two i immediately got
I didn't even know something like this existed. But this is so on brand for jack. yes, I'll attentively watch the entire video lol
the way you said devil police head and i SCREAMED demon copperhead so louud
I was screaming Klara and the sun the entire time, the internet just makes us do such weird things hahaha
I was literally screaming “Where the Wild Things Are” at you.
the natural history one is “where the wild things are” !!!
