I'm 60 and my brother is 57 with Crones Disease, and has had about 16 or more surgeries removing his intestines, as long as he lives, I will make sure his bills are all paid ,as he can't work . He's no burden to me, He's my brother. Our parents are gone and he's all I have left of my family here in Ohio. If I have a dollar , then he has 50 cents. This song brings me to tears .I Love You brother........

Started playing, l started crying. Thinking of Jr. I'd heard this song a thousand times but today it had a personal feeling, to me. I didn't go home for 6 hrs. That's when l finely stopped crying. I was 12 in 1972 when my brother and I were in a WALKATHON for (the boys home) . I became tired after 16 miles of heat and fatigue. My brother put me on his back and when people asked if he was tired he'd say "He's not heavy he's my brother". Yesterday I carried my brother's coffin to his final resting point as the military buggle played. Someone asked me if I was tired from carrying him and I said "he's not heavy he's my brother".

Saw this giant on stage last year in Munich, he hasnt lost anything of his voice! We had a blast in the audience, thousands went home in deep satisfaction. In this song he is not half the voice of The Hollies but who cares. ;)

Our parents are deceased and I'm living with my brother who has a terrible case of Bipolar Disorder which makes him abusive and cruel sometimes. . I'll tell you....HE'S HEAVY....but he's still my brother and I'm going to continue carrying his load and mine. Hopefully he'll go to treatment soon. It was introduced to the Hollies in the summer of 1969 while residing in London and the record was released on September 1, 1969. featuring the piano talents of Elton John, and with lead singer Allan Clarke providing a heartfelt rendition of the lyrics. The US release was 3 months later - December 1, 1969... But what the hell... Neil does a wonderful interpretation.

My brother passed away 10 years ago this coming May, and he was heavy (weight wise) but there is nothing he wouldn't have done for me, or anyone, he had the biggest heart of anyone, save for maybe my father that I have ever known. I am sorry for the loss of your brother.

I felt like some music by Neil Diamond today. That's the simple truth of the matter.
I played this at my brothers funeral, he was my best friend my strength my joy my all. He gave me a ring and told me that if the time came to sell it to do so but i said i never would. But this year 2012 i had to do the unthinkable and sell the ring. But i no how he felt about material items but it still hurts but we were hungry. I love u so much Sam and the pain of loosing u will never get easy. So much that we did together and this song will always bring me closer to u.

Could never beat the hollies version
Saw this giant on stage last year in Munich, he hasnt lost anything of his voice! We had a blast in the audience, thousands went home in deep satisfaction. In this song he is not half the voice of The Hollies but who cares. ;)

whity72 we bought tickets as a birthday present for my mum who seen him the first time he came out in the mid 70's thinking it would be his last tour..unfortunately he announced due to health he wasnt able to do the tour...my mum passed on her live neil to me and have found it so sad to see time catch up with another legend a little too soon..
Our parents are deceased and I'm living with my brother who has a terrible case of Bipolar Disorder which makes him abusive and cruel sometimes. . I'll tell you....HE'S HEAVY....but he's still my brother and I'm going to continue carrying his load and mine. Hopefully he'll go to treatment soon. This song was one of the best things that came out of the 60's.
