    Hi! Welcome to my Healthy Hunnies family.
    My name is Healthy Emmie. I’ve been featured in Forbes, HuffPost, PopSugar, and more as the go-to nutritionist for plant-based weight loss. I’ve personally coached thousands of people. Combining the teachings of Dr. John McDougall’s Starch Solution, Dr. Joel Furhman’s Nutritarian Eat To Live Diet, Dr. Alan Goldhamer, Dr. Doug Lisle, Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, T. Colin Campbell, Dr. Neal Barnard, Dr. Dean Ornish, Dr. Michael Greger and more… I’ve trademarked my Slim on Starch® system for weight loss and weight maintenance. I’ve received my certificate through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition which qualifies me to coach individuals. Each client in my Slim on Starch program works with me, as well as my carefully selected team of nutrition coaches who are registered dietitians in their personal practices. Each client also works with a carefully selected team of mindset coaches, whose personal practices stretch from therapists, trauma specialists, addiction specialists, psychologists, health coaches, doctors, personal trainers, and more. If you’re interested in working with me and my team, please visit healthyemmie.o.... I look forward to helping you change your life. You deserve health and happiness.
    What should you eat after a heart attack? My client Wanda had a heart attack. She immediately applied to the Slim on Starch Program. We immediately got her cholesterol down, she lost weight, and overcame binge eating. At 72 years old, she feels youthful and healthy!

    All for your ethos Emmie, have been following you for years. I am very glad that Wanda is feeling great, however after a heart attack she will have been started on aggressive secondary prevention including statin therapy but this is not mentioned in relation to her lipid profile improving.
    Saying that Wanda has clearly benefited from the support and programme alongside therapy, that has addressed her modifiable risk factors (depression; stress; inactivity and poor relationship with food). Fantastic! ❤

    • @carl13579
      @carl13579 Год назад +2

      Often what happens is they start on an aggressive dose but rapidly reduce it because it is obvious that the diet is working. This happened to me. In my case, I have gone from 266 total cholesterol on the SAD to about 150 (no statins) when I am absolutely careful to maintain the Caldwell Esselstyn diet; if I am a little bit more flexible, I am at 170. Because I am also post heart attack, I choose to take the lowest dose Rosuvastatin, be a little bit flexible on the diet, and stay at 130, with LDL well below 70 (usually around 60). Agree this is a fantastic success story. If Wanda is reading this, I am over 5 years on this lifestyle. It only gets easier and better.

    • @Mahalah_
      @Mahalah_ Год назад +1

      @@carl13579 statins don’t just work to lower lipids but line the arteries preventing further atherosclerosis and stabilise any existing plaques. NICE guidance advises remaining on a high intensity statin lifelong although the dose can be reduced if appropriate. Once you know you have CVD using all available measures to manage it long term give you the lowest risk of further issues. Ensure any changes are in collaboration with your Cardiology team.

    • @carl13579
      @carl13579 Год назад

      @@Mahalah_ The long term results of Dr. Esselstyn's work show that what I am saying is true. NICE may not be considering the Esselstyn results (even if they are aware of them, they may choose to ignore them given how few people are willing to do the diet). Getting your LDL below 70 and keeping it there shows long term results even for those with previous heart disease. Agree about working with your cardiologist (as I am). In my case, I have reversed my angina while on the diet.

      Dear @han9473. I could not take the statins or BP drugs, although I tried for about 3 weeks. Took over the counter sterols, red rice yeast, and SOS to get my cholesterol down. Cholesterol 248 in September, 156 in December. Never wavered on the diet, and I do walk everyday. Try for 10k steps, but rarely get there.

    Wanda is telling my story (to the Tee)💔 I (just) joined another coaching program (for a year) so I can’t look into what you have to offer (at this time) but I will definitely start looking into your approach…I already love that you address the mindset! Checking out your cookbook right now🤗 I’m 70 as well and need to put a stop to binging when it hits “it hits hard” and like Wanda (used to do) I do well for periods of time (1-2mo) and like an uncontrollable urge…I don’t usually stop until I can’t stand to look at myself in the mirror to see the physical damage I see looking back (swollen/bloated/showing my age as a beat/up version of myself and again like Wanda when I am doing well I feel more like a 40 y/o. I know I’m not broken…”it’s the food” but so desperately need to stop letting pf sneak back into my life and take over my sane mind🙃 I sooo want to get off the roller coaster of ups n downs before I too end up having a heart-attack. Thank You for wanting to help people🤗

    This looks like my life. I was bingeing on vegan processed food. My cholesterol went up to 200 but I didn't understand why. I thought cholesterol only came from animal products. After a few months later, it went up more to 238. Doctor's kept saying I must be eating cheese or something. I kept saying I wasn't. I found out myself it was the processed food with all the oil added to everything. I stopped eating processed food and only ate wfpb my cholesterol went down from 238 to 156. I'm working on getting it lower. Plus I lost 53lbs. 20 lbs to go. My only problem is exercising. I'm a procrastinator. I'm going to have to go to a gym and get a trainer.

    hi from Australia..
    ... I myself have just had a coronary stent inserted at the age of 66 years.. I have been plant based 3 yrs... now diagnosed with coronary artery disease.. with 2 further arties partially blocked.. but not stentable till 70% blocked... ( currently 30 - 40 %) ... i am on a mixture of heart medications.. statins etc...I failed my stress test .. and minor heart symptoms a few weeks earlier... did the lady have a coronary calcium CT done? partially hereditary with parents with coronary artery disease.... its very hard to take in ... and all the dairy / meat / way of living here in Australia ...

    • @wandarains2486
      @wandarains2486 Год назад

      I did have my first stent at 66 also, was told it was hereditary, and that diet alone could not achieve what drugs can. I could not tolerate drugs, so this time took red rice yeast and plant sterols, and SOS. Keep the faith, do SOS , it may take longer for some than it did for me.

    So I’m not trying to loose weight since my weight is already on the low end but my eating habits are terrible. I’m addicted to sugar and can’t go a single meal without dessert let alone a whole day. Sugary cereal for breakfast, cake/pastry with lunch and almost a pint of icecream every day! Don’t mention the tons of candy and chocolates I have through the day. I know my bad diet will catch up to me but how do I just stop?
