  • Imagine you build a project and then you just run out the pins. You need more pins for your project to drive something.
In this video, we will learn to add more pins to our Arduino board using this module. I will demonstrate it with Arduino UNO and an EPS8266 board WEMOS. We also test the output by blinking LEDs and a relay then test the input of this expander module by reading input from a button and an infrared sensor. And we also try to use more than one module to a single Arduino board so we got 16 additional pins.

    Good morning,
Many thanks for your video. Everything works fine for me but I have a question, how to change the PCF8574 inputs. I would like to configure my Atmega328 but cannot do it without modifying the PIN outputs (pin A5 and A4)...
Thank you and have a nice day :)

how to write or read individual ports or pins of 8574 module using wire library only? do not use pcf8574 library.

Using this module, can the servo library work with a servo connected to the module directly or i need to write my own pwm code that talks to the the module?

Hello sir, I've found a problem when I connect the pcf8574 extender module(blue color one) to my nodeMCU. The LED connected to the pcf8574 extender module can only generate a faint light. Does it mean my pcf8574 extender module is broken or something goes wrong? What is the solution? Hopefully, I can receive a reply. TQVM

@@limjunyi2211 that's normal since this module is designed as sinking. So you should put pcf -> resistor -> Vcc. And the LED will light up when you put LOW output.
