Born here in July 1958 and lived here until 1972 when I moved to Florida after finishing Ryan Junior High School 216. I lived on Kent Street two blocks away from Union Turnpike, which was very beautiful during the four seasons. The house that I was born in was also built in 1958 so all of my fondest memories including the 1964 - 65 NY World’s Fair and the 1968 NY Jets and 1969 NY Mets world championship teams both played at Shea Stadium which was only 15 minutes away via the Grand Central Parkway.
It is interesting to see the complaints in the comments. Part of the reason that theses houses are so expensive is because people want to live in Queens close to Manhattan. Suburbs away from the city are further away. There is something for everyone. New York is not for everyone. Yes! There are bigger houses, in other areas, yes! You can get more land in Southern States, obviously the people that live in Jamaica Estates want to live there. Google homes in Connecticut or upstate New York, and see what they mention you can do in those places. The all list:Visit NYC! There’s a reason for that! People want to be in NYC. I see people mentioning Florida. People from NY retire and move to Florida.
"one day, that's the goal"....nah....One day, you pack your bags and get the hell out of NewYork. There are much more beautiful homes than this in Florida for half the price.....Newer homes....I grew up in Jamaica Queens. I live in Hawaii now.
@@ДаАд-щ7ф oh that’s nice I still have to visit Italy it is on my bucket list! I live in Kew Gardens which is literally 10 minutes away from Forest Hills Gardens and it is such a beautiful area. Are used to live in South Jamaica which we called the dungeon war zone so I am blessed to have moved out
@@kindaconservativeengineer2902 I have seen south Jamaica on the way from jfk to my hotel in Manhattan, I wanted to stop there to see 50 cent old house but it was too late, I think that a lot of neighborhoods in queens are hidden gems like all the planned communities
I grew up in Queens. As a youngster I dreamed about living in Jamaica Estates. Now as an adult it doesn’t quite make sense. You can get so much more for less in other states. The homes are actually cramped together; so costly with virtually no land space. Also if you’re from the area you know that the surrounding areas are quite ugly and rundown. There are middle class suburban areas in Nassau county that are way more clean and attractive. NYC on a while is so overpriced and overrated.
You were so close to but didn’t go by the Immaculate Conception Monastery. They have a great property. The area was or still may be the home of the Cuomo family.
Houses like these are in the inner city of Rochester. Same size yards and all, kinda the same looking streets (during the day) they go for about 45k to 60k because of the danger of crime and getting killed in a shooting... IN YOUR HOUSE! I mean folks in their homes, playing or what not, someone outside shoots and a bullet goes in and kills them! LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION The house at 1:31 looks like some in my town of Greece, in the older neighborhoods. they go for about 130k 3:17 looks like some of the older Jewish neighborhoods in Brighton. If you have a brand spanking new home built on a lot of land in Pittsford NY then you get into the million, but everything inside is very high end. the floors, marble countertops sounds systems central a/c 6 mil would be the VERY highest you'd find here, and it would be massive, like 6,000+ sq ft. Pittsford is the equivalent of the Queens area you showed us. The Jewish section, as I said, is very high end.
Wowwww 45k to 60k? That is amazingly affordable! I cant believe rochester is getting that bad in terms of crime, thats really sad. In NY, the jewish communities have really nice housing. Forest Hills and Bayside area has a lot of jewish folks and those are some of the most expensive places per sqft!
I used to live in Jamaica Estates, but we lived in a luxury apartment on Highland Ave that Donald Trump's father built. We only lived there for a year after I was born.
smh I don't live far from here and there is no way in hell I would put that kind of money in an area like that blocks away from bum ass congested hillside ave lol. if anyone has that type of money and wants to be in the "New York area" consider Garden City that's a beautiful area. I personally wanna get the hell out of ny altogether lol

That was an excellent comment!!! I get tired of hearing what you can buy in other places with the money you need to buy a house in NY.
Beautiful houses and place.
😍 pretty , I lived in woodside for a while and never went out there
Home to Mr. Mcdowell from Coming to America.
"That would be something." "Wouldn't it."
lol yup
At 1:03 that was donald 's trump house When he was a kid and then growing up, the one with white pilars
What blew my mind is that Curits Jackson "50 Cents" neighborhood of South Side Jamaica Queens is just 20 mins away from here. lol
I wonder how much home taxes are there. I pay around 2700.00 pr yr on a 360,000 home in north GA
you dont even want to know.... one million dollars will get you a mansion with a landing stripe for a private jet outside of NY!
Hi what you are giving a tour those houses are not on sale I guess plese show which one is on sale
Which is the ara name?
You can get those kind of houses here in Montana for $300k
yea and be in a state with 200 other people

Wooo, es hermosos .
Wish I liked in Jamaica estates as a kid
Looks alot like New Rochelle, NY
@Jacob SMITH lol
I live there my uncles bought a house for 2 hundred thousand dollars in 1997 now is millions
In terms of aesthetics I think that forest hills gardens, that has similar prices , is better
Correct. Houses in ascan place, forest hills are beautiful. Are you from NY?
@@kindaconservativeengineer2902 no, I’m from Italy but I love ny and particularly some neighborhoods like forest hills gardens and ues

I would contest that the average home prices are more expensive in forest hills gardens. Plus the property tax is a higher in forest hills gardens
Nice homes but really close together.
Didn’t Bunz live out there in Belly? lol
I'm going to get a place out there
Dmx and Nas movie 🎬 Belly
It's where the Jamaican drug Lord OX used to stay 😂😂
Have to win the lottery!

watch out for those leopards!
It's too expensive and you do not get what you pay for. $4mil would get you an exceptional home elsewhere. Those houses are really 1.2million.

Stick to your goal
All the Jewish have moved from Jamaica since Pakistani and Bangladeshi took over it’s like a village now
Jamaica Estates one of the most beautiful neighborhood in NYC
Normal westchester county houses but with lower grade school district and surrounding crime
The houses are too close together.
What is your point to show like this?
This looks like a regular neighborhood bro. Nothing fancy.. calm down bro 😂😂😂🤡 you can tell you live in apt
Ugly houses I don’t know why they are so expensive
