Two wonderful watches! I have the GS, because it’s a GS that goes with everything, and I can’t afford the Rolex - which is also a brand that I mostly not consider.
I own the sbgn003 and have to point out that this much older expII isn’t a fair comparison. The modern ExpII should be compared as those old Rolexes has some flimsy and cheap feeling features like stamped clasps, bracelets and hollow end links. The modern expII is jewelry though compared to this older expII that is a true “tool Watch”. The modern expII is a better watch than the sbgn003 no question. But it’s a $3200 watch versus a $7000ish msrp watch (more like $11000-$14000 in real world). If you want the Rolex, by all means buy it. But for me, the SBGN puts me In a a club of very rare informed watch nerds who are willing to take a chance.

The GS is an awesome watch but the white dial on the Rolex brings it to another level of clean, smart, unique, etc...

Besides the bracelet on the modern Explorer II, what else do you like better about the modern Explorer II over the grand seiko?
Great vid. Just ordered an SBGN003
I have the Grand Sieko Snow Flake it's a very light weight watch very comfortable I prefer it over my previous Rolex Datejust 2 very happy with ir.
I have that grand seiko and love it.
Excellent résumé
The SBGN001 is rated to 5 seconds a year
