With Persona 5 Royal coming out in the West in the next month, I wanted to shake the rust off of one of my favorite games and do a challenge run at the same time. While Arsene is one of the coolest looking personas in the entire serious, how does he hold up being the only persona for the whole game? Today we ask the question:
Can you beat Persona 5 by only using the starting Persona, Arsene?
IMPORTANT:

I can imagine it like "dude, i know i told you i was you and all. But you can leave me behind dude, i'll always be around so just FUSE ME ALREADY!"
Surprisingly base Arsene as I have been growing one, has impressively high Speed- allowing Joker to get first turn, though once Makoto joins. Joker will always get 2nd turn since her Persona, gives her the highest base speed out of everyone. Have Arsene at level 70 and his base speed is like 68-75, and giving him the right spell cards. Arsene with his speed at 70, can make Joker break the game if given the right skills/fusion.
@@Megamanexe Wait, how does that work exactly? Does each persona have a hidden stat that determines who goes first? I thought it was Agility. I've always been confused of this since P4
@@fitzviandraduivenab2790 Agility does make them go first. With Persona 5 base Arsene if you grow one from the start and all the way to the end, or halfway through the story. Around level 70 has a base speed of 68-75
Which when equipped on Joker, will allow him to go right after Makoto and before everyone else.
Makoto with Johanna, and if you have it evolve. Will give Makoto the base speed of 80, always going first no matter who turn it is.
Depending the Persona Joker has equipped, if their speed is lower than his party members own Persona? He will always go last in the group. But with a speedy Persona equipped, will have him be taking turns right after Makoto.
And yes- in a sense, when your fusing to make a new persona. If you look carefully at their stats, and depending on your confidant level. It will determined which stat gains the most, if you cancel out and click over and over. You will see that 1 or 2 states will gain plus 2 or 3 points in that specific stat.
I don't know if you can fuse an Arsene, but the regular one you get from the beginning of the game, will start to have incredible speed mid to late game. Making him pretty fast and right there with Johanna.
@@Megamanexe i think all joker's personas have random stats each level, you can level then up in the gallows and it shows what stat is geting increased, it changes every time you re-enter it
For people commenting "oh he changed personas", at 11:30 he said the footage was corrupted for mostly the rest of the video, and has it on screen saying that, so while it's not shown what he does specifically because he's using different footage, he still used just arsene, you just don't see it because it's not his footage. Hopefully that kinda clears it up because I have a feeling, despite me and other people posting that, they'll still go "yOu ChAnGeD pErSoNas"

Yep. That boss fight was the worst thing to ever exist. It was so frustrating.
Okumura's palace has been made much easier and shorter in royal. The barracks section has been shortened, you can skip most of the saucer section with the grappling hook as well as grapple into the control room, and many mobs spawn with aliments meaning haru can instantly knock them down.

it's certainly annoying to deal with but have any of you tried fighting Lavenza?
not the twins fight as that's pretty easy as long as you have good equipment and persona
Lavenza fight is extremely gimmicky and difficult, each phase have a timer and you have to deal a certain amount of dmg or you'll be one shot when the timer run out
each phase alone have an extra gimmick to it, making it extremely annoying to deal with, and her weakness constantly shift back and forth so it's a game of whack-a-mole while also racing to deal the most dmg that you can
she's also crazy powerful and her attack could one shot any of your team member

Oh wow Persona 5 really did turn into a story about how we saved Christmas.
This series makes me want to buff my Izanagi enough to carry me through all of Royal. Cross Slash is my favourite move as it’s really strong and very satisfying to use.
Theoretically, this challenge would be a lot easier in Royal due to velvet alarms. The second time you use gallows in an alarm, it buffs stats directly instead of EXP. If you kept getting fusion fodder, (which also triggers alarms) you could buff a persona all the way to 99 in all stats.
One nasty little secret I discovered during my new run.
Sae's boss fight in the second phase kinda blows at the last bit.
If she enters desperation mode, you better pray that you do enough to get rid of that last sliver of health.
Otherwise you get one-shot. Granted, I didn't concentrate on Futaba on this run so I'm not exactly sure if final guard would apply.
You just gotta guard
Final Guard would apply, as it triggers in any situation in which Joker would die.
