would have loved to been able to explore this amazing ancient city a the time of this filming....my first time to wander around the temples was in 1994... Have been there many times since ....Namaste ✨
Everything is Changing Vastly till this time 2020. We still could see lot of the differences then and now. But I would really like to thank Mr.MichaelRogge for sharing this Video footage on RUclips.... God Bless you Michael ..... 🙏👌🙏
these heritages sites, antique and unique architecture of Patan made me feel how awesome this city was... really appreciated for uploading the birth city of me and my ancestors..
Wow! but due to lack of knowledge about importance to heritage and traditional architecture gifted by out forefathers, most of the houses in street are converted into concrete lousy buildings. Nostalgic to see the temple Ganesh at Okubaha, where I spend my precious childhood. Thank you Michael
Wow! Patan in Kathmandu South back in 1975? I was there only 3 days ago. Things haven't changed except that there are far too many automobiles and motorbikes around nowadays. Maybe back then in the 1970s fewer English signs and explanations were available.
The ancient inhabitants of Patan are the Newas. So, in Patan, the festivals are enthusiastic like Rato Machhendranath Jatra, Kartik Naach, and Krishna Janmashtami. The variety of festivals also justify that the city homes both Buddhist and Hindu traditions in harmony. Nowadays, there reside people from different destinations. Well I got a chance to live in Chakupat during my visit in 2012 & there was a lots of road construction under process then but every places seemed well maintained & beautiful when revisited in 2020, surprisingly Patan is still seems as beautiful as I felt when visited first time in 2012, there’s no much huge impact of earthquake hit the city, one of the most important villages of Lalitpur under the Licchavi dynasty is Lele. Still, some stone pillars which date back to the Licchavi era can be found there. Thanks for this great video sharing, it is close to my soul
