here is my cover of such a beautiful solo of John Petrucci , The Best of Time (Black Cloud and Silver Lightning)
i used Ibanez JPM90 ham , Axe Fx Ultra , Motu , Mac Pro
and caught by iPhone4

1. you need to learned whole solo first
2. break it down in to parts and practice it technically one by one
3. put it all together
and the last thing must be "play it musically"
wouldn't be the best way but it works for me

ผ่านไปเกือบ 2 ปี กลับมาดูคลิปนี้อีกรอบ เมื่อตอนนั้นมีคน Cover เพลงนี้มาลง ไม่กี่ราย ปัจจุบันมีเยอะมาก แต่คลิปนี้ ยังยืนยันว่า Classic และได้อารมณ์

Beautiful Ibanez and fantastic tone! Petrucci used a JPM90HAM to record LTE 2, and IMO that was the pinnacle of his "Ibanez Tone" - the addition of a Maple top to his Basswood body, Ebony and not Rosewood fretboard, and Air Norton/Steve's Special pickups combo was the best guitar tone he got until the Music Man BFRs (which are a different sound due to the vast usage of tone woods in the body & neck)

@petrucci973 thanks for comment , yes it has a few imperfections on my solo :) . About PU i'm sure that JP used bridge PU on the beginning but due to his gears are the cause of that ballsy tone and of course his fingers :)

@7StringSeven I beg to differ. I own both an MIJ Ibanez and the new Musicman JPXI. They're both amazing instruments with very different sounds and feels. It's all based on what you can do with your hands...and to an extent what amp you're running them through. Then again you're entitled to your own opinion and that's respectable.
