Good grief man, some epic video there, and great editing. I've seen some of the video on HeliBASE '74 coverage, but wow, too cool. When 25 yrs of age I had a few extended hols in US from England, DeLand in Florida and Perris Valley California were my haunts. My career spanned up to a tiny 98 jumps total, but this was 1996, the PD Stilleto was the new (and one of the first) eliptical canopies, 95% of skydiving was still relative-work, but a new "head-down" style was emerging, mastered by the "Flyboyz" at that time. Squirrel suits were a very rare but emerging variant on the sport also. Basically, i'm green with envy, I used to love the exits, particularly from a Sky-Van, but helicopter exit, base jump, squirrel suit or head-down freefly, alas I did not!! Keep it safe and please keep sharing the video. Blue skies Sean "Owd-Larrd" Mckenna a now 45 yr old 'crinkly' ;-)
Stuart Rothon sorry but I used to watch this with My baby boy every day, & the soundtrack was perfect, brought back a lot of memories of happier times, now it's gone & so is that little boy. peace brother.
I saw a lot of great wingsuit vids.. But Bro, this is the most amazing one! Getting better year by year. Can't wait for the 2015! :D Thx for making this! Keep up the great work Rob! Cheers
4:41-5:17 This line is just too good to be true every time I watch it from different pilots/flyers. The closeness of those rocks underneath and the speed...man.
Took your advise and looked up Tandem Base. Talk about taking a sport with little or no room for error and making it more intense and dangerous. Your videos are amazing so sad to see to video flyers die last year in one crash - very sad. Did not realize that Ludo was dead. Watched a bunch of the Dream Lines Videos after watching this. Keep up the good work.
A practical question: If their arms are in the wing-suit, supporting the 'wings', how do they pull the 'rip cord'? Just like in a parachute jump, or another manner?
Another fantastic video! 2m22s secs was amazing and the docking at 12m I didn't know was possible!!! The final tribute was fitting but if any positive can be taken, it's that this list was much smaller than in 2013. Hats off to everyone involved in making the video.
Glyn Martin Thanks very much, just a heads up the list at the end wasn't everyone who died during 2014 wingsuit BASE jumping, those 5 names were in the top 20 of this sport and true pioneers I did a tribute only to them because losing them was probably the biggest lose this sport has had ever.
***** apologies. I stand corrected. Still, these compilations are a worthy tribute to the men and women who push to the limits. After all, it's that trait in people that moves humanity forward. The willingness to take risks, the willingness to do what others don't.
Amazing footage and editing! I am old, and I almost blew a gasket just watching the close flybys. Who composed the opening musical piece? That was an excellent intro.
Could they ever make a wing suit with enough lift for tandem. Now that would take some serious balls to ride!! Amazing video - I stumbled on this watching You Tube and it's the most intense thing ever. Be safe guys!!
Charles Napier Search Wingsuit Rodeo, thats probably the closest thing to a wingsuit tandem. Also there is such thing and a tandem BASE jump go check that out! Thanks for your comment!
+Stillstanding Thanks!! comments like these really mean a lot to me. And the 2015 one is going to be awesome, been collecting footage throughout the year and some really sick flights have happened!
I lack war resources, I must retake atlantis with this tactics, I will rather learn alone or face evil with some brave commanders. I dont need skydiving because when you issue an order I will fly. even if you value me not I respect you abilities. Know I am Lucifer.
I am a Borg command Matrix, respect my authority or just stay out of my way when you see me roll in my wolfpack. I am not interested in interfering with your fun I just wish I wasnt including and had the opportunity.
losepoundsandinches And you are a bad person, because I'm sure that he was a very god person, and if you are happy for his dead, you have a big problem.
losepoundsandinches Well, those are the little joys that you are going to have all your life. And probably after you'll finish your boring mean little average life on a deathbed somewhere, you'll gona' do it full of regret that you did nothing, and even Whisper(the dog) had hundreds of more fun an adventure then you did. ;)
TheDeelix Two professional jumpers crash per month, 25 per year (2013) including some very experienced, last week crashed and died the "King" of them the Colombian Jhonathan Florez (700 jumps). The death is instantly , no deathbed, no time of nothing, neither to say: ... Who turned lights off... ???
Bloody amazing!! I get goose bumps just watching these guys. However the idea of flying so close to the earth only increases the risk of disaster. I salute their courage but I only hope they know when to call it quits. They must get a hell of a rush, but can they ever stop?
You'll need a decent amount of money to train your way up to it, but yes. The real blocker is that most people live a life where they have something to live for. Base jumping, especially base wingsuiting is insanely dangerous. If you're ready to accept death as a tradeoff for the adrenaline rush and beauty of the sport, then go for it. Every year we lose many BASE athletes. You pretty much need to ask yourself "am I ready to die tomorrow". I've never base jumped, I stick to skydiving but I assure you the rush is worth it!
Some insane stuff. Last proximity flying I saw was the part in the ski movie "Seven Sunny Days". I see the guys are pushing it even more to the limit now, I would even say a bit over the edge. :-) Those long flights close to the ground are sick.
6:06 Burj Khalifa برج خليفة The exact height of the structure is 828 m with 163 floors, with 180 meters being the longest spire in the world. Точная высота сооружения составляет 828 м при 163 этажах, причём 180 метров приходится на самый длинный в мире шпиль.
I'm happy to hear that there is already a League of Wingsuit! Above all that it should always be a Brotherhood of Wingsuit performers. The level (technique and art) is very high today. You should manufacture your wingsuits with a system (jet/rocket) for emergencies, when more lift is needed, and use it only when it's needed. Best wishes to you all.
+Markulator That guy who won the WWL Julian Boulle... He's South African and one of the most highly rated wingsuit pilots to ever fly, but we have got a couple of wingsuit flyers out there, they just keeping it on the down low.
WOW! This totally blew away the 2013 BOWF. At 2:23 looks like wingsuiter's foot touched the ground. And at 3:30 to 4 min+ is Supurb synchronized acrobatics! Do you suppose that some day they will allow wingsuiting as a choice of death for those sentenced to die? If by some chance they survive, they could possibly be allowed to walk free.
+Element of Kindness - It's all in the angles. Notice the paraglider's parachute is angled forward, which pushes the air caught by the chute to the back and gives the glider forward momentum. The wingsuit flyers, however, are angled back, which catches more wind in their flaps and provides more resistance. Therefore, even though one might think that the wingsuit flyers would be going much faster than the paraglider, the differing amounts of resistance proportional to their weight allow them to control their speed and downward angle so that they can match with one another. It's a heck of an impressive display of aerodynamic knowledge, coordination, and dexterity, though!
+Tim Ibershoff Not a bad explanation, except that it isn't a paraglider, its a high performance parachute. But basically the high performance parachute is going as fast as it can go and the wingsuiters are going as slow as they can go.
R.I.P to all who give the gift of dreams to many others - and some who will peruse more in the name of their bold triumphs selflessly before them and have an outside of the box thinking or mind! trying to be short -
From 14:04 to 14:40 - It's funny how you try to guess what the next turn will be and then they don't make that turn. Heart stopping action. What went through my mind was: Where's he going to go now!!! The judgement required is mind blowing.
Yeh verry dreamy but not the music. What about the sound of the wind or other natural noisces? Is `n it posseble to record some of that? Hip hop or house is not a verry good acompiniated score.
+martin There was some natural sound on one of the videos, but also realise the natural sound is just high velocity wind noise... stick your head out of a car window while traveling at 200km/h and tell me if you would like to listen to that for 15min.
Wow! at the end of the other video it gives the impression that this is not safe enough to attempt but at least they died doing something they loved. I hope that comforts their loved ones.
Instead of making a base fatality list, they should be thinking about making a base survivor list. Would make it easier to follow the paths of the most successfull names on this scene. The fatality list gives the idea that these were only the unlucky ones. But many of them have been among the best. After studying the fatality list for a while and the corresponding life-stories, it appears to me like almost every wingsuiter dies more or less early. And hey! People do not always die immediately when having an accident. Many of them are in full consciousness after deadly impact. They die on their inner injuries within minutes. There is even a video here where a wingsuiter died on a facebook life stream. His last minutes were recorded on audio. It is not a death while living ones dreams, but a very painfull death. This is the sad truth, that nobody wants to see. The second sad truth is, that almost everybody is dead, who was sucessfull on TV or on RUclips a few years ago. Watch out for: ludovic Woerth, Dwain Weston, Ueli Emmanuele, Eli Thompson, Alexander Polli, Ueli Gegenschatz, only to name a few - all amazing characters and among the best flyers. But all dead now. I hope I can disincourage some of you, not to jump. And yes, I love the Videos also, and the vision of the flyers. But there must be other ways to live ones vision. Stay alive all of you please. Live is beautiful on planet earth, even on earth itself.
Ruined with music. Would much prefer the raw sound. Oh but someone thought they were being clever🙄 This video is bearable with the sound turned down. Did the skiers give permission to put them at risk?
Only 5 in 2014. Well, that's a hell of a lot better than the 20 plus in 2013. Not that any of them dying is good, just pointing it out...R.I.P. To the fallen....
Eddie Steele Unfortunately those weren't all the BASE fatalities that year, I only put those 5 names down because all those guys were ranked in the top 20 wingsuit flyers in the world and sadly we lost them. In the description there is a link to a website that tries to record all known BASE fatalities.
One of the best edits ever made of some of the most amazing footage ever recorded. Great job.
Simply the best and most daring wingsuit vid I've seen. I even interrupted my nieces bday party by replaying through their TV. Brilliant!!
DIG5TAR Nice!
This is the best and craziest wingsuit proximity flying video ever!
Thanks really enjoy getting comments like these!

There were around 3 fatalities per month in 2014 I believe. And these are only the tracked ones.
