Thanks for the great videos. Just subscribed. Quick question: What gimbal would you recommend with the Canon SL2 (200D) for shooting real estate videos indoors? Thanks in advance :)
Thank you for the support. This would be a fantastic option. Because the SL2 is so light, you can only use it with lighter lenses (which is fine) or with a counterweight. I really enjoyed using this gimbal. Hope that helps.
Great video! Really want to buy this gimbal now haha, thanks ;-). One question: Do you think it's possible to keep the battery grip on your camera (we've got a 77D) when you put it on the gimbal?
Yes, it should work with all of those lenses. I also got the smallrig QR plate and counterweights (in description) so I can pretty much balance anything now.
Great video! Did you have a chance to try it out with the XT3 by any chance? I’m curious how stable it’ll be with a camera with no IBIS. Thanks for the review!
Thank you. Both of those are great options. Here is my comparison: ruclips.net/video/AM9thPT_IVE/видео.html let me know if you have questions after you watch
Hi, again thanks for the recommendation I'm getting this unit for my SL3 camera :D Question: when using this gimbal, should we turn the Image Stabilizer off from the canon lens? How about the Digital IS in the camera itself?
Thank you for this video. I’ve been looking for a good stabilizer that can balance my canon 80D but it’s been hard. I’m glad to know that this equipment can hold my beast of a camera. Also would a microphone on the camera be in the way?
ok now that it's two years later would you still recommend this? Also can you tell me about possible ways to mount my phone to any gimbal to use as a monitor?
I think this is a great product. I just bought the Zhiyun Crane 2 in used condition. It's easy to handle as well, but during shooting I thought "it could be a little more compact". I am really considering to sell the Crane 2 again and get this one. Thanks for the great review as always. Learn a lot here!
Thanks for the great review. Did you test it with fast-moving objects to see if it could keep up? I would also be curious to see if after the firmware updates the gimbal reacts more accurate when controlling it from your phone. Thoughts? Thanks.
@@TechGearTalk Yes. When you have time or I will search it out somewhere else, it would be cool to see someone running by you in realtime, sports or a car and see how it follows the subject. Thanks.
Can you say whether or not the gimbal can control the ISO/Aperture/Shutter on the Sony A7iii? If so, can you control those settings while the wireless image transmitter is plugged in to the HDMI?
Tech Gear Talk I have the AirCross 2 gimbal. Once I plug the USB cable into my gimbal from the camera, the HDMI to my external monitor goes black. I think it’s a common issue with the A7iii where you can’t use the USB and HDMI ports at the same time. If you manage to get it to work with the transmitter, please let me know.
Tech Gear Talk I think I read somewhere that there were some improvements to HDMI on the A7Riv. Have you tried testing out that camera to see if you can use the USB and HDMI at the same time? If it works, then maybe we have to wait for the next big thing from Sony.
Thank you for the review. Would you pick this over the Ronin SC as your first gimbal and why? Not sure if you mentioned this before but does this gimbal have active track? Also, have you tried the zoom and focus control on this one? Is it any better than the Ronin SC?
I like the handling better on this one, but I like the app better on the SC. I don't believe this has active track. I did not use the zoom and focus because that is not a feature I ever use (I'm really shaky when holding the gimbal in one hand 😂) I have seen it used and it is very smooth from what I can tell.
In comparison to the ronin sc, how about stabilization? I see upgradeability being a nobrainer for this one as it supports bigger cameras, thanks for another high quality content
seasoned photographer getting into video, and this was going to be my starter gimbal for 5d mark iv. I have every canon prime EF lense except a 24-70 2.8, but I do have the ef 24-105 f4, can it handle that with mark iv?
Nice video man. Im just waiting for comparison between weebill s and moza air 2, coz both of this gimbal very amazing feature etc. Do u have opinion about this?
Thanks Jack. If your setup fits on the Weebill S I would go with it because it's a lot smaller and lighter. However, for some of my setups, the Air 2 is a better fit (because they are bigger).
Hello master. Wanna ask. For canon eos m50 + sigma 16 mm f1.4. Which should we use? This weebil S or any series u recommend? Thank u on advance 🙏🙏😊😊😊🙇♂️🙇♂️🙇♂️🙇♂️
Hey there, Great video . I have the Canon 90D which you mentioned and tested on your video, and i want to ask if this gimbal works also with thirty party lenses. I have the new tokina atx-i 11-16 . Thanks
Hi. I have not tried that lens, but that shouldn't make a difference - it should work. The only thing that wouldn't work well is something like a 70-200 because it's so long. Hope that helps.
I really like your reviews, in fact I decided to buy the canon SL3 thanks to your review, I would like to know if this gimbal works for this camera, or would you recommend another gimbal?
Thank you for the informative video. My understanding of the wireless transmission module can only transmit 1080p @30fps. My question is does this mean my camera record settings has to correspond to 1080p or can I still record at 4k?
Thank you for the review. My original weebill lab would start rattling for no good reason even when stationary on a table. This despite perfect balancing, tightened bolts, and properly adjusted motor strength. The guys at Mcbain camera shop were alarmed with how bad it rattled their counter-top and after playing with the settings for an hour, promptly exchanged it for another one....which btw did the exact same thing just on a lesser scale. It has rendered so many event shots absolutely useless. Now I'm stuck with a Weebill that I'm not interested in using ever again and have gone handheld. Not interested in spending another $700 on another Weebill lab kit. Any advice, sir?
That sounds terrible. Did Zhiyun do nothing about it? If you do let like this one, you can get a dji Ronin s or sc. or a MOZA aircross 2 or air 2. Hope this helps.
Hi, how smooth you think this gimbal is comparing to old weebil? I like the form factor but the it was always jittery and totally anapprpriate for pro work. Of course with 50%speed it can be fixed but i want real quality :) so a comparision would be great with weebil one. Thanks
Hi. I don’t have real data to answer this. I only used the original very briefly and with a lot of other gimbals in between. it’s very difficult to compare without using them at the same time. I will say that I was happy with it. I do almost exclusively use my gimbal footage at 50% but I totally know what you’re saying about 100%
Is it possible, maybe using specific settings, to use a gimbal to record a smoother walking footage without making it look too unnatural or cinematic like? What I have in mind is typically exploring a place holding a camera, you want to remove as many micro jitters as possible but still have it look rather natural with slight bumps when you're walking etc. Using a non IBIS camera + non OSS lens, could a gimbal achieve this or is there any other kind of gear more suited for this use case?
It's a little hard to answer because "natural with slight bumps" could mean different things. I think it will work perfectly with the setup you're describing (no IBIS or OSS)
This really looks like it could meet my criteria, but do you ever run into the limitations of the rotation of the tilt and/or roll axes? It seems like the Moza AirCross 2 has the upper hand there since it's 360° for each axis, but unfortunately that gimbal is so much bigger. 😒 I want a gimbal that is super light and portable for my a6400. Because I am a hobbyist interested in filming my kids and doing small video projects, ideally I just want all of my gear to fit easily into one backpack. It looked to me like your horizon was off in some of those clips at the end. 🤔
I did not feel limited by the rotation in any real shooting situation. It's very possible that with messing around with it so much on a shoot, switching cameras and lenses, there were times when I didn't autotune or re-balance it well. Which clips had a horizon tilt?
Dear Tech, I really valued your appraisal of the Weebill S and I do think it's for me. I have been dying to buy a gimbal for my DSLR Setup which weighs in at 1.148kg and I am glad I waited. Your Cinematic Video take was sublime to say the least; I almost forgot why I was watching you. Super well done! Oh sorry, back to the review - Just sublime and sincere thanks to YOU, my new adopted friend..
Question - does the gimbal break down or come apart like the Ronin SC? There were many shortfalls in the Ronin SC which I made a video about, but I'd like it if a company would nail this portability with payload mastery....
Right now it goes into follow mode. The other modes use the toggle on the left PF and L, and the button on the back POV and VORTEX. I haven’t tried what you’re describing yet.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I see a problem when trying to remotely control Sony cameras through any gimbal. - If one uses a cable connection (PC remote) the SteadyShot function will disappear. - If one uses a wireless connection (smartphone remote) the eye/face AF function will disappear. Is that correct? Am I missing something?
Does it have the subject tracking functionality like the other Zhiyun gimbals? I think the other ones use the phone camera, but would be really nice to have object tracking with the feed transmitted from the camera!
Tech Gear Talk thanks. I saw an official video that Zhiyun released on RUclips and it appears it does have this functionality, not seen it reviewed yet though. In their video it looks like a couple are filming themselves and the gimbal is tracking them. No phone seems to be attached to the gimbal, so presumably it’s working with the monitor app. That would also make it a lot easier to set your object from a distance. Would be interesting to see it in action.
100% agree. On the SC, it didn’t help when I was shooting myself because I’m away from the gimbal. They just told me it’s not available yet, but it’s coming!
Hi thanks for this video it is really helpful. I was happy when you said you managed to balance it with 90D canon with Ef 24 70. I tried to do it myself but the lens is so front heavy. It is not working with me. Can you please tell me how you do it… Thanks again
Hi thank you for the review ! Do we need to mount the servo-motor for the follow focus with a Canon 5D Mk III or Crane products are Canon-compatible and the focus can be done electronically through the camera ? I cannot find this information anywhere ??? thx a lot !
well I think I found my new toy, I shut with my iPhone and Sony A6400 so I think this gimbal should do the job. I was using the DJI OM4 with my iPhone but I could not get used to operate with one hand and I see with this gimbal you can get extra leverage and better control with two hands -Great video !
I really enjoyed this, and I really like your channel! (and, the fact that you're in CLE and I'm in Akron is cool!) I'd love to watch a vid of your suggested set-up for this gimbal, as well as any tips/tricks. This is my first gimbal, so I'm getting used to it. Thanks! (Go Browns!)
So, I just ordered my Canon 90D and I'm looking at gimbals. I like the Zhiyun Crane-M2, because its so compact and concise, but I'm not sure it can balance the 90D with a 18-55 zoom lens. What is your experience? Will the M2 work or do I need a larger gimbal like the Weebill S?
Hi there. First, CONGRATS on the 90D - such an amazing camera. Next, you'll need the Weebill S, the M2 will not support the 90D with any lens - it's much too small. Hope that helps and thanks for being part of the channel!
Thank you very much for the review! I have a question. On the official manual it said the WEEBILL-S will not be able to control ISO/Tv/Av while connecting to SONY cameras through micro-USB. Is that the case? Or will they release newer firmware to correct that? Thanks!
so the weebill s can do a full 360? Is that what you meant by vortex mode? I just got the zhiyun crane v2 but thinking about upgrading to this, the crane v2 is cool but it's lacking in some areas
@@TechGearTalk it has the ability to do a full 360 but only when you point the camera straight up or down. Kinda frustrating if you want that. It also doesnt have pov mode like the crane plus does. Also it says up to 1800g but i'm only around 1044g with the m50, aps-c adapter, and a sigma 30mm f1.4 and some times it starts vibrating a lot like it can't handle the weight. When i use the quick release plate i'm almost completely maxing out the adjustments on the gimbal. And then parts of the gimbal rub bad. No switches to lock the axis either. For 150$ more the weebil s sounds like my next gimbal
This gimbal is catching my eye, but the focus addition is something I am not interested in, now, the monitor part with the gimbal alone is something I wold probably buy.
Hello: Nice review. Do you know if this will hold the Canon XF 405? It has stabilization built in but no where near what a gimble will give you. Thanks.
Hi, and thank you Bill. I have never tried a camcorder so I'm not sure. My first guess was "no" because of how long it is, but at the same time, that includes the lens... so maybe. I would go to a store and try it first. Sorry I can't give you first-hand insight.

That's exactly what I came on here to say. Need real time footage. Slow motion does nothing for me. The rest of the review is great though.

I agree with the real time motion request. In the meanwhile, you can play the video at twice the speed in RUclips if you want.

Hi, again thanks for the recommendation I'm getting this unit for my SL3 camera :D Question: when using this gimbal, should we turn the Image Stabilizer off from the canon lens? How about the Digital IS in the camera itself?
Glad I could help. The best answer here is to test it. I've read conflicting reports with different gimbals and camera/lens combos.
Thank you for this video. I’ve been looking for a good stabilizer that can balance my canon 80D but it’s been hard. I’m glad to know that this equipment can hold my beast of a camera. Also would a microphone on the camera be in the way?
Hi Love your Video. Which Camera/Lense did you use for the Studio part of your Video?
Thank you for the kind words. Using a Canon C100 MK II
Hi Reference to the Weebill S Do you know if will suite any palm sized CamCorders?
ok now that it's two years later would you still recommend this? Also can you tell me about possible ways to mount my phone to any gimbal to use as a monitor?
I think this is a great product. I just bought the Zhiyun Crane 2 in used condition. It's easy to handle as well, but during shooting I thought "it could be a little more compact". I am really considering to sell the Crane 2 again and get this one. Thanks for the great review as always. Learn a lot here!
Appreciate the insight Mike. It’s amazing how we transitioned from payload to form factor.
Thanks for the great review. Did you test it with fast-moving objects to see if it could keep up? I would also be curious to see if after the firmware updates the gimbal reacts more accurate when controlling it from your phone. Thoughts? Thanks.
Yes. There is a GO mode which is designed for that. It makes then gimbal very “quick”. Does that make sense?
@@TechGearTalk Yes. When you have time or I will search it out somewhere else, it would be cool to see someone running by you in realtime, sports or a car and see how it follows the subject. Thanks.
I’ll do that in a story when I get a chance. It works quite well.
Nice video, great b roll. One question, do you know if the follow focus for the weebill s is the same as the webill lab?
Thanks Steve, appreciate it. I don't know if it's the same, but it's super smooth from what I've seen.
Can you say whether or not the gimbal can control the ISO/Aperture/Shutter on the Sony A7iii? If so, can you control those settings while the wireless image transmitter is plugged in to the HDMI?
I've only been able to control start/stop - and yes, via the wireless transmitter. I'm still trying to see if I'm doing something wrong.
My screen goes off as well, but I can still control the settings on the camera. I wish the LCD still worked AND we got the clean HDMI out.
Tech Gear Talk I think I read somewhere that there were some improvements to HDMI on the A7Riv. Have you tried testing out that camera to see if you can use the USB and HDMI at the same time? If it works, then maybe we have to wait for the next big thing from Sony.
I have used the A7RIV but only for photos so far. Hopefully Sony can give us that with a firmware update 🙏
Hi great vid man..
Do you know if I can use it with a battery grip for the Sony a7iii? 🤔
I did not use the zoom and focus because that is not a feature I ever use (I'm really shaky when holding the gimbal in one hand 😂)
I have seen it used and it is very smooth from what I can tell.
In comparison to the ronin sc, how about stabilization? I see upgradeability being a nobrainer for this one as it supports bigger cameras, thanks for another high quality content
I would say they are similar, but I like the handling is this one better.
seasoned photographer getting into video, and this was going to be my starter gimbal for 5d mark iv. I have every canon prime EF lense except a 24-70 2.8, but I do have the ef 24-105 f4, can it handle that with mark iv?
Can I use it for vlogging
awesome review - can i use this with the first generation canon m6
Thank you Serena. Absolutely! You may need a cage or a riser with larger lenses (this is true for most smaller mirrorless cameras)
Tech Gear Talk thanks so much! Will buy from ya link
Have you tried the gimbal with Canon 90D or other Canon SLR? Is there enough clearance? Do all the function work?
If I remember correctly that camera is in the video.
@@TechGearTalk thanks for advice 🙏 my plan is for GH5 + sigma 18-35mm, and 7inch monitor
Awesome setup!!
Hey Sagi, Just bought that gimbal for my canon 200D + Sigma 17-50 F2.8 + Canon 50mm F1.8 setup.. Hope i will do good works with them :)
Hello master. Wanna ask. For canon eos m50 + sigma 16 mm f1.4. Which should we use? This weebil S or any series u recommend? Thank u on advance 🙏🙏😊😊😊🙇♂️🙇♂️🙇♂️🙇♂️
I’ll let you know in a few days 😉
Hey there, Great video . I have the Canon 90D which you mentioned and tested on your video, and i want to ask if this gimbal works also with thirty party lenses. I have the new tokina atx-i 11-16 . Thanks
Hi. I have not tried that lens, but that shouldn't make a difference - it should work. The only thing that wouldn't work well is something like a 70-200 because it's so long. Hope that helps.
@@TechGearTalk Thank you so much for your answer, because i want to buy this Gimbal and you cleared my doubts out !
I really like your reviews, in fact I decided to buy the canon SL3 thanks to your review, I would like to know if this gimbal works for this camera, or would you recommend another gimbal?
It works very well with that camera (depending on lens of course). What lens do you see yourself using?
It's an awesome gimbal indeed! And it only costs 2049 CNY for the basic model in China, which is like 290 USD, definitely a no-brainer!
Wow, that's a great deal!
Thank you for the informative video. My understanding of the wireless transmission module can only transmit 1080p @30fps. My question is does this mean my camera record settings has to correspond to 1080p or can I still record at 4k?
Hi Anthony - you can still record in 4K because you're only using the transmission for monitoring. Does that make sense?
@@TechGearTalk I got no reply from zhiyun. I'm not interested in wasting more money on gimbals. Spending more money isnt the answer.
No support would be an issue for me.
Hey bro :) is this gimbal compatible with Sony zv e10? Please reply :)
I want a gimbal that is super light and portable for my a6400.
@@TechGearTalk the walking bridge clips and the one at the very end. 🤷🏽♀️ Cool review either way. 👍
Appreciate you taking the time to share this!
I really appreciate you taking the time to leave some a thoughtful comment. Thank you for joining the community and for the support 🙏
Hey!
Great video!
A quick question - would this Gimbal support my Canon EOS 700D dslr?
It's smaller than the 90D which I used, I don't see why not.
Question - does the gimbal break down or come apart like the Ronin SC? There were many shortfalls in the Ronin SC which I made a video about, but I'd like it if a company would nail this portability with payload mastery....
Only the tripod feet come off of this one.
Tech Gear Talk dang. Thanks for making this video
Welcome! Hope it was helpful.
Thank u! Very useful for me! I’ve been waiting for this product for a long time
Super glad you liked it. Welcome to the community!
Hey there, can you customize the trigger button to lock specific motors when you hold it, like how the trigger works on Moza Air 2?
I have not seen that yet. I’ll take a closer look.
Another excellent review Sagi, would this gimbal be good for vlogging to get stable, smooth footage?
Thanks so much 🙏 Yes, this is my favorite medium sized gimbal right now.
@@TechGearTalk Fantastic, I'm sold and thank you
Glad I could help!
Thanks for the review! can't wait to get mine!
I'm super glad it was helpful Mike! Thank you for the kind words and for joining the community 🙏
Hi thanks for this video it is really helpful. I was happy when you said you managed to balance it with 90D canon with Ef 24 70. I tried to do it myself but the lens is so front heavy. It is not working with me. Can you please tell me how you do it…
Thanks again
Hi thank you for the review ! Do we need to mount the servo-motor for the follow focus with a Canon 5D Mk III or Crane products are Canon-compatible and the focus can be done electronically through the camera ? I cannot find this information anywhere ??? thx a lot !
If I understand your question then yes, you can mount a follow focus and control a canon lens.
how to choose the correct brushless gimbal motor size for my design? it depends the torque?? or the weight the company specifies?
Are you able to see your LCD screen on the 90d while using the transmitter? I can't, only on the phone.
well I think I found my new toy, I shut with my iPhone and Sony A6400 so I think this gimbal should do the job.
Tech Gear Talk Thank you. I’m really excited and looking forward to it. I also appreciate the good work you do for us.
Glad I could help. Appreciate you being part of the channel!
I'm so glad for this review. Keep it coming! :)
Appreciate you watching! Thanks for the support!
Hey I use the SL2 with the sigma 18-35 - would this lense be too heavy / long for this gimbal?
Can keep the Sigma 85mm ?? It's kind of heavy!
Thank you very much for the review! I have a question. On the official manual it said the WEEBILL-S will not be able to control ISO/Tv/Av while connecting to SONY cameras through micro-USB. Is that the case? Or will they release newer firmware to correct that? Thanks!
I don’t k ow what they will do in the future. As of now, I believe I was only able to start and stop recording. Which camera are you using?
@@TechGearTalk SONY A6400
I have one, so I'll test is and can let you know if they ever release it.
Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 mark 2 is good or not for gamble?
so the weebill s can do a full 360? Is that what you meant by vortex mode? I just got the zhiyun crane v2 but thinking about upgrading to this, the crane v2 is cool but it's lacking in some areas
Yes, it will do a full 360. Where is the Crane v2 lacking? (I always like to learn about other perspectives)
Super appreciate you taking the time to share 🙏 Thank you for being part of this community.
That looks really fantastic as well. Something small would be more suitable for me. Fantastic review!
Glad it was helpful!
May I ask where you get the background music from? Thanks! Awesome review!
Of course - and you can get two free months! www.techgeartalk.com/music
This gimbal is catching my eye, but the focus addition is something I am not interested in, now, the monitor part with the gimbal alone is something I wold probably buy.
The gimbal really does a good job. Like you, I don’t use the follow focus but really like the monitoring. Thanks for watching!
Hello:
Nice review.
@@TechGearTalk Will this gimbal work on canon 200d ?
