  • I knit socks in the size 37 / 6.5 by casting on 20 stitches in total and increasing to 16 stitches per needle.
    You might need to increase more or less stitches depending on what kind of yarn you use and on the size of your socks.
    Check out my other videos if you want to know how to knit the rest of the sock.
    Please let me know if you have any questions in the comments below.

    I have only watched a few of your videos, but find them very clear and a joy to watch...you stay in the camera view and you explain very clear...I have been knitting for years and just thought maybe I would want to learn to make socks...so glad I found you...thank you for sharing...

    I typically won't watch a training video with music. I usually find it too loud, totally unnecessary, distracting and often downright annoying (one only a few minutes ago was on German short rows with rap music!). But yours is a perfect choice. In fact, I love everything about your style and I can't wait to see all of your videos. Your voice is excellent, the camera stays on your work, the detail is very thorough, the speed is just right - this is a fantastic video and you have a new subscriber. Many thanks - so happy to have found you!

    I am new to knitting and finished 1 pr in a worsted yarn, and now I am using a sock fingerling yarn from Opal (Rainforest) I think, looks almost the same as the yarn you have here with greens and purples. What size needle should I use? You're videos are the easiest to follow. My go to, and go back to, when I have searched and watched others, but come back to your videos. They're THE BEST!

      For the Opal Rainforest yarn I would use needles in 2.5 mm. Thanks again for your nice comments, I am really glad that you find my videos helpful :)

    Thank you for your excellent instructions. Very easy to follow. The only question I have is why did you switch from magic loop method to DPN needles....isn't magic loop easier and much faster?

    • @haalu
      @haalu  7 лет назад +1

      Hi Marie! I switched back to DPNs because it's easier for me :D I am so used to them that I feel like magic loop is slowing me down. Also I havn't done a series about magic loop yet so I thought I would make this video with DPNs and then introduce magic loop in another video to not overwhelm knitters who are just starting :)
      But you can obviously continue with magic loop, if you prefer it! :)

      Thank you. I had the same question. These are fantastic videos. I use to knit a lot, but I fell away for years. You are helping me to get back to my knitting and I love it!! 🧶

    can we do the cast on the double pointed needles if we don't have the circular needles

    • @haalu
      @haalu  4 года назад +1

    Hi. Can I do the toes on 2 dpns and then transfer to circular for two at a time knitting?

    Can you tell me if there is an alternate way to do the cuff besides k/p ribbing

    • @haalu
      @haalu  6 лет назад

      Hi Sandra! Hm actually I always knit a ribbing for the cuff since it is way more elastic than normal stockinette. You can try any other pattern but keep in mind that since your cuff won't be as flexible it could either stretch out or be too tight.

    Very good video thank you.... where did you purchase the needles from?

    • @haalu
      @haalu  6 лет назад

      Thank you! :) I purchased them from a german yarn shop, the circular needle is a Zing needle and the DPNS are Karbonz (both by KnitPro).
