Her Russian fans chosen Diana as "National Treasure" (no official title).
In her home studio, she is currently experimenting (Corona time) a lot with different music genres and performing on both large and small stages.
2020 Diana graduated from school and in September she has become a student at the Russian Institute of Theater Arts. She will study in the specialty "Variety Artist". She also wants to learn to compose and arrange her own songs.

For sure, many of the site's visitors will be interested in the history of my collaboration with Diana Ankudinova. I'll try to tell you about it.
Diana appeared on the 2nd season of the project "You are super" and immediately declared herself as a strong and unusual participant. Then I worked mainly as an accompanist. A well-known and very talented teacher, Natalia Nikolaevna Efimenko, was responsible for the creative part.
Perhaps many people expect me to tell them how I was immediately surprised, delighted, and so on. But this is not true, I will not deceive you. First of all, there was a huge number of participants, so much music material was passing through me that I could barely process it. Secondly, in General, the level of the competition is high, and there are many, very many strong guys and girls. They are all worthy of attention, and some are potential big artists.
But already in the third season, I managed to work with her personally, one on one. It began with a Blizzard, where I first felt its artistic power. And then the Wicked Game.
Just for sure, many people are interested in the history of the creation of this number. Well, in fact, you can tell a little, just came up with the idea to make this song and immediately formed its sound in my head.
On a project, we are always very tight in terms of deadlines. This is the main problem. There are a lot of participants, everyone needs to choose a suitable song, and there is no time. Plus, of course, if the participant is strong and well-established, then the responsibility for choosing the repertoire increases.
Diane picked up a song, we roughed it up, showed it to our editor-in-chief, and she rejected it. So we decided to develop my idea with Wicked game.
It was necessary to quickly show some draft decision and approve the song. In the morning I played it to myself, sang vocalisations, figured out the form and invited Diana to class. We turned it around a little, added something and made a record. The management approved the idea, and I sat down to arrange it. Then there were some edits, finishing, our music producer helped with the effects. And the vocal part, the vocalizations, the singing-it was all done by Diana and me in the classroom, and in fact, no one but me was correcting it. This was a big responsibility for me, because, in fact, for the first time, I was entrusted to do a song in its entirety, and not just with a contestant, but with the winner of the previous season.
Diana was both interesting and challenging to work with. She is a rather private person, does not let anyone near her and does not seek to be friends herself. In any case, so it was with me.
I couldn't decipher it, didn't quite understand it, perhaps. Rather stingy on emotions, it is not always clear what she likes and what she does not like. But as for the music itself - it grasps quickly, and the result of this work, of course, more than pays for all the difficulties that have to be faced.
What makes her unusual as an artist, as a singer? Well, first of all, it's the voice. Definitely. It is large, strong, rich, instantly recognizable and, at the same time, understandable and close to everyone, or at least a large number of people. As a vocalist, she is completely devoid, perhaps not yet devoid of any fashionable mannered chips, she has a direct feed with a huge, real, honest emotional content, all the more surprising because she is actually still a child.
The problem of many young artists is that they are under the influence of the so-called "firm", English-speaking singers, hung from head to toe with melisms, some splits, wheezing, and other condiments. There are so many of them that you can not feel the taste of the dish behind them. They hide their emotional emptiness and the weakness of their musical material with these perfumes, but anyone who is accustomed to good vocals and good music can immediately feel it. I am, frankly, extremely tired of such singing and I am sure that the vast majority of listeners are no less tired. And here is Diana just a happy example of such an absolute disregard for these trends, most likely intuitive ignoring, and honest singing with full immersion in the imaginative world of the song. Combined with a huge, unusually beautiful voice, this gives a really disruptive effect.
I have witnessed this transformation of Diana several times. She sings in class. Just sing. Neither cold nor hot. I'm beginning to get upset. I say, and why not so emphatically? Well, the meaning is this, perhaps in other words. She answers: "so I was singing without emotion» I say, " why?» Shrug their shoulders. "Now let's start with the emotion," I say. And it includes something in itself, some register, or some option, and sings "with emotion". And it works staggeringly. Because they are two different people. I didn't understand why she was singing "without emotion". But now, I think, he has begun to guess. Just for her, "emotion" is not a chip, not a gasp, not a grimace. It is really spent emotionally while singing. Honestly, really. This is its main strength, I think.
Again, it's not just Diana who has such honest singing. Our project has several real, strong participants. You may ask, why then only Diana has so many views? Well, we can try to answer that. Here, I think, it is the magic of the timbre that already plays a role. This is physiology, if you will. Well, if a person does not have such a timbre, then he will not construct it in any way. And the tone of this, combined with the artistic power, as it acts on large masses of people.
But everyone has their own path, what will be ahead for the Chicks of "You are super", no one knows, so we can only wish them all to remain real, sincere, and not pretend on the stage, but live.

This song she's performing in French. In case you didn't know, she is classified as a true Contralto, a very rare vocal type applied only to women. Cher is a contralto. The closest male vocal type is called a Counter Tenor.
