  • This is my personal review of the boots I currently own and use while riding my Harley Davidson Sportster and Honda Gold Wing. Surprisingly, my Harley boots are not worn nearly as much as the few other brands I dive into! Please keep in mind I am always open to suggestions of other boots brands your heart is loyal to! Comment about them below!
    Lets take quick look at 4 brands and where they came from!

    Beth, clean your boots with saddle soap and use mink oil after. It will make the leather softer and will help with break in if you have a stubborn boot.

      Agree, I used to watch tv and other non-walking activities, over a long period of time, while wearing boots to break them in.

      Ya ecowboy thats what i was thinking when Beth was talking about the finish on her red wings .but i was thinking if the color has worn off then prehaps a leather die to give them some color then work in some leather condishener over the whole boot.

    Great review on boots! My only issue is that none of them are actual riding boots so in the event of an accident on the road, you’re not going to be as well protected. I have a pair of Street & Steel Oakland boots and they have 100% saved me from a broken foot with my 720lbs Honda came down on it. They aren’t the most comfortable boot for walking around a lot but they are fantastic for riding.

    Good to know about that last pair, I need a really tall pair (to hide the fact my pants are too short 😅) and I definitely would have snagged those at the dealership without a second thought if I saw them!

    • @BikerBabeBeth
      @BikerBabeBeth  10 месяцев назад

      They are so cute! You might have better luck keeping them laced tight around the ankles while riding. I just for the LIFE of me keep them up without bunching.

    Great video and reviews Beth!
    I've worn everything from combat boots to knee-high lace ups and Harness-style ones, just settled for my Dan Post and Corral cowgirl boots while on the Road Glide.
    I'd love to see a video of you reviewing your different riding jackets and pants/chaps too! 😎

    I wore DM's for forty years (because i really liked their light weight and comfort) but as a Motorcycle boot they are terrible. The leather is thin, they let water in badly when it rains and when the sole wears smooth they are a danger when you put your feet down on wet roads and they have zero ankle protection. But the final straw was the quality got worse over the years and they always split at the crease just where my gear change lever is.
    So a few years back i got a pair of TCX X Blend boots. They are comfortable, good looking and have a reinforced gear change pad and built in ankle protectors.
    They do a version for women called the TCX Lady Blend. You might like them.😊

    I try to avoid boots that have laces on them. Im always paranoid that they'll come untied while riding and get hung up in my belt or something, LoL! I own 2 pairs of Harley boots and they both use buckles and a zipper that go up the side.

    I've noticed that many people in the US don't buy bike specific boots, especially in the cruiser niche.
    Why is that? I mean for the price of a pair of red wings or doc.martens yiu could get a purpose made motorcycle boot that is also classically styled that will do a way better job of protecting you while still looking cool

    • @BikerBabeBeth
      @BikerBabeBeth  10 месяцев назад

      Nah cruisers riders don’t tend to wear boots specifically made for motorcycles. Most don’t tend to be aesthetically pleasing to me.

    OK trying this again cuz I pushed something wrong. Two things about boots. They must have webbing in the tongue to keep water out and they need to be treated so they are waterproof. I use Sno-Seal on my boots I have heard Mink Oil is hard on the stitching I like one piece boots without laces so I don't get water in them. I try to avoid rain so usually there isn't a problem although it rains constantly in Oregon. My favorite fashion boots are Doc's knee high boots with the zipper on the side but only wear them when I dress up in my kilt. My favorite boots are made locally by Columbia Sportswear. Not cheap but they are rebuildable and really tough.

    Forma adventure touring boots for winter and Alpinestars ankle high sneaker style for summer. Italian design manufactured in eastern Europe.
    Both steel toed, and purpose made. Your HD knee highs bunch up bc they have no harmonica pannels!
