- In this episode of the Prospect Spotlight series, our scouts take a half-hour deep dive into the game of a projectable and athletic centerman with strong playmaking ability: Jett Luchanko! First, they introduce the player with his profile, statistical production, and his trifecta of puck skills: shooting, passing, and handling. Next, they shift their attention to his habits, tools, and toolkit, discussing why he is falling down rankings, including their own. Last, they debate Luchanko's projection at the NHL level from both stylistic and statistical perspectives, before capping off the episode by looking at which NHL teams would be the best fit for him.

Yes he's going to be a fan fave but we'll see if passing on Buium works out. I like him better than Helenius who I did not want after watching this. Liked Demidov, Catton, Dickinson , Silayev for the Flyers but that didn't work out. Though he is not a top line center with his speed he might be able to play with Michkov. Need coaching on shot, stickhandling but fans will love him if he's involved in everything on both ends. Love the D.

I would like to see a scouting report video on John Mustard. He seems like the player profile the red wings would draft but I'm not confident he'll be there at 47. Could you see red wings drafting him at 15 ? Why or why not ? Thanks for all the great content.

I agree… seems willing to go into “greasy” areas to score, first time felt this excited since Lindros, which was bittersweet when discovered the arbitrator threw in their prospect Petr Forsburg with that trade…. and even moreso seeing Forsburg win two stanley cups and Lindros getting clocked by Scott Stevens who literally ended his career early.
I wish the Flyers would stop with the 2-way center nonsense... I was ecstatic they somehow got Michkov. I thought Briere will stop drafting based on buzz words like "work ethic", "200 feet game" and so on and will look for high ceiling, potential stars, at least in the first round of the draft. It seems not. But, true, the kid is 17, let's see how he develops in the next years. What I don't want is another Laughton. You can add that type of players in trades whenever you want.

Id rather have a defensively responsible center than winger. Like if you had a line Tips and Michkov well that other guy better be responsible defensively. Its not a bad pick Id rather of talking Helenius but I also think Jett fits Torts style.

Question If Lou would grab Luchanko at 20 , who would Blackhawks be looking at 18 ? Michael Hage ? Blackhawks already have Ludwinski , Greene , Stjernborg, Safonov, Thompson at Center.
Igor Chernyshov or Michael Brandsegg Nygard would be interesting winger targets
