I want to thank you for your courage to speak out on your anxiety and depression. So many people suffer silently with it, especially men. I also see God's work being done through his hands. Not just by the work it's self. Being honest through his feelings. Like this video, it's OK to have a few off days. But don't give up, get up.
It's alot harder when you don't have that buddy to drag you to a golf course or a spouse to rub your back and say don't worry babe I got this today. That's why God sends him, he rolls up and makes the difference in someone's life. We need more people like this.

Anxiety is a real thing. I [unknowingly] had it even before it was a "THING"...just thought thought I was weak. I refused to get on an antidepressant for years as my Dr recommended because I had never been depressed.
But when he finally convinced me that would cure Anxiety- I discovered he was right.

@ellenadams5650 We need to value and care for a whole person including mental health. So many physical health problems can be attributed to issues like anxiety and depression. It's unfortunate that it's taken so long for the medical community and the world at large to acknowledge and help treat people.

Candybell3214, I have had over 100 plus surgeries and procedures since birth. There is only one way to stop depression which is stop keeping God out of one’s life. If one asks God to help you by praying to God, by reading the greatest love letter to humanity the Sacred Scriptures the Holy Bible and ask God to forgive one of our sinfulness. I promise you that ones depression or any of problem God can and will fix if one Loves God as much as he loves us. You’re problem or illness my not go away but God will give one the tools to make you happy, joyful and at peace inside one’s soul, body and mind.
Satan does want any of us to rely upon God for everlasting happiness, joy and peace. God loves us so much that he wants all of us to be in Heaven with him for all eternity. But if we follow the world and Satan our happiness, joy or peace will be very brief.
If one forgoes the world and realize on God alone the joy, peace and happiness will shine upon us with God’s graces and blessings.
Again, completes the Three Pillars the God asks us to do daily which are prayer, Penance by (obeying his 10 Commandments ) disobedience to God’s Word and will and study and know the Catholic Faith which is the only Universal Truth that Jesus Christ founded and set forth through his Apostles

Maybe also, this was what had to be done to bring more awareness to mental issues/challenges that not many are taking seriously. He should document the whole process to get a book in the making to help others overcome this disease because that is what it is. Our leaders also need to provide more help to those suffering. It is a hard fight. I see my loved one struggle every day.

Great Comment Frank - i once wrote down i see it as invisible for others to see, imagine being sat in a chair on a beach looking out to sea, and everyone is having fun around you BUT you can feel a Tsunami out to sea coming towards you that others cannot see THEN it hits you, crash's into you, But to others you are sat in your chair nothing happening, The Tsunami is crashing over you and around you moving past going inland and you have to stay strong 'Not Panicing' in the chair and you just have to be patient and 'WAIT' , then it all flows back to the sea and you are sat safe in the chair due to not having fell apart.
i also wrote while in that chair/time deep in the depression at your lowest you can link in with The Inner Spirit/God and you can examine what is presented to you and you can work on it as it is something that is blocking your spiritual progress that time of depression can be where you find a pearl of wisdom in the darkness.... secret is do not panic..! Best Regards James

I suffered from anxiety so much that I had to force myself just to go to the grocery store. I know some people don't believe in the Lord but I do and he told me that the devil was trying to steal my joy. It wasn't an audible voice it was just something that popped in my head and I know it was the Lord. It changed my out look and I hardly ever have anxiety attacks anymore. I pray a lot and the more I pray for others the smaller my problems seem.
I'm so glad you're doing better not just for you but also for your beautiful family. May God bless and keep you always..

You are not alone. This happens to so many people every day. You are stronger than you think. The fact that you shared all of what you have been experiencing and going through proves that. It's not easy to admit to yourself that anxiety has taken over your life, much less make a video admitting it to thousands of people. You absolutely rock! You are an inspiration and are to be admired and looked up to. So strong....Thank you.

As a phlebotomist who's been drawing patients blood work for the past 30 years. I've come across some patients who are nervous, scared & faint. I've learned to talk to them about other things that's happening. It's my way of distracting them. Some still feel weird but most make it through. I don't like having my blood drawn coz I don't have good veins.
I'm glad you finally got it done. It's our river of life. It says alot of what's going on with us. Thank you for sharing. You are a blessing to many folks. I pray for good health and healing in your body in Jesus name ☝🏽❤️🙏🏽

This is a great step in telling your story. There is a huge stigma around anxiety/depression and men. We aren’t allowed to have anxiety in this world we live in. If we do we are weak, soft, snowflakes, but the reality is that coming through it proves just the opposite. We are strong, strong enough to get through it and still be here!!!!

When I went into that rabbit hole I almost didn't make it back. May I please share with you some instructions my doctor gave me. Simply when you notice your mind is dwelling on negative thoughts, immediately turn them around and recall something that made you laugh, that made you happy. During challenging moments, deep breathe and blow out slowly. Most importantly, hold your loved one close, they are hurting with you. We love you, Al. Take care and we'll see you soon.

      Same… I’m still surprised I survived! ❤❤❤
This is what helped me with major panic attacks, hope it works for someone who needs it…
When it’s getting worse than you are prepared for:
Name 5 things you can SEE
Name 5 things you can HEAR
Name 5 things you can TOUCH
Name 5 things you can SMELL
Name 5 things you can TASTE
I have Complex PTSD, and because of issues with insurance etc., can’t find a Dr in my area. So I’m unmedicated and struggling hard. The first time I tried the technique, it worked so well that I just cried a River… it has never failed. Even during catastrophic accidents.

Two of my grandchildren have difficulty with the thought that their doctors visit may include needles. I have zero problems with them, I once had to have a skin cancer removed from my leg, the nurse was going to have me lie down, I told her no, I wanted to watch and the doctor said I could. Also no matter how gross something looked or smelled I didn’t gag. Well the no gag thing is gone. I can gag at almost everything now, but needles still don’t bother me, and I have a suggestion Al, I have seen you get stung by many bees, I’ve seen you pick up a snake….that is something I’ll never ever do in my lifetime, but as far as needles and bees, try and think to yourself that if you can handle a bee sting which is actually going to hurt really badly, that you can handle a small stick of a needle which will only last a very few seconds. I’m a diabetic, my doctor had me on Ozempic for awhile, I didn’t like the side effects and went off it pretty quickly, but I have to say that the needle on that syringe was the smallest I’ve ever seen and I didn’t see how there could possibly
be a channel inside it to carry the medication, but there was. Too bad every needle isn’t that small. I’m guessing the needles diameter was a fourth the size of an eyelash! Doctors should start requesting those! All this being said, I’m glad to hear that you’re doing better, the family is doing good and your daughter is well! 🙏🏻

I’m an EAP clinician and I see hundreds of people in the clinic with anxiety, including health anxiety. I’m so stoked for you that you’ve found a way through to do something about it. It’s so important to get your health checked out and attend to what is needed. Do everything you can to calm down your autonomic nervous system and set yourself up with a green prescription of good food, sleep, nutrition, exercise and someone to talk to everyday about how you’re feeling. It will help.
You’ve got this Al, you’ll get through it. You’re already helping people by sharing your lived experiences about anxiety to inspire others to do something about their anxiety too. ❤

Thank you for sharing. Sometimes our guardians, guides and ministering angels give us many signs that we need a time out. I am curious about your age, as I believe 28 is the first year of true adult life, and ages 26-29 are the toughest self examination years. Also, you are obviously a very sensitive being and full of compassion for others; finding the compassion for ourselves, and self love is a lifetime work. When difficult thoughts take up too much time and FEAR (False Evidence Appearing Real) decreases our sense of well being, keeping your hands busy is the wisest thing you can do. Games, puzzles, and I love watching Lego Masters. As you engage in a reset, I can see you fine tuning what is right for you, as an individual. Be well and have a prosperous and abundant 2024.

Al, please ignore the negative comments. They don’t know you. Anxiety and depression are real. It’s NOT “all in your head.” I used to think that until I went through it myself and realized I could not control it myself. I lost my husband of 52 years last year and didn’t realize I was going through depression until I was going day after day, not getting out of my chair and letting my housework go. I went to my doctor and got on a good antidepressant. I’ve been worried about you and have prayed for you and your family. Good to see you back..

I’ve lived with the same thing you went through my whole life! It’s terrible, every little ache makes you think you are dying. Once I started medicine for my anxiety and depression, my attacks have almost completely went away. I hope you have a great life Brother Al. Don’t be afraid to seek help for your mental well being! God Bless!

Al, let me tell you why I started following you for a very long time. 1. Is because I love the way you are gracefully so happy helping someone or just anyone that needs it. 2. I love your beautiful attitude which is always the same and even when someone stole from you, you didn’t show how upset you were but continue to help someone in need of your help. This is what you called graceful Blessings. I have to admit that I was so sad that there was something medical going on with you, and that you didn’t want to share. I am so happy about your test results and is looking forward to following and continuing to pray for you and family. I love you Al. God Bless Love’s 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️❤️❤️🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️❤️❤️🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

When I was in my 20s, I suffered severely with anxiety and panic attacks. I suffered for about 8 years and had gotten so bad that just leaving the house to go to work was a struggle. What you are describing about being stuck in your head describes it perfectly. It’s good that you finally saw a doctor and I hope he did a cardiac work up too to rule out anything abnormal. Once you have a clean bill of health, hopefully the anxiety will resolve. If it continues, please seek out a counselor/therapist who specializes in anxiety/panic disorder. It only took me a few visits with him to learn effective ways to manage my anxiety and my panic attacks became a thing of the past. Please don’t make the same mistake I did and wait years to get help. I will keep you in my prayers 🙏

You are the sweetest, most precious man Al. Get better soon, and we miss your yard videos and to hear who you are going to bless next. One thing I noticed is that you do not have much fat on your body. One doctor that examined Bruce Lee, martial artist, said he died from lake of fat and too much exercise. Eat more butter and healthy fats and increase "complex" carbohydrates, as in broccoli, and other cruciferous vegetables. That is what my dietician says.

Hi AL I'm not one to comment on videos but I felt compelled to let know that you have taken the first steps in dealing with your anxiety. I have witnessed this with one of my sons who has had depression and anxiety for 11 years . He now has a family and is doing much better. Talking with friends and family helps, but sometimes professional support is needed to get over the hurdles. Don't be embarrassed ❤ We all need love and acceptance. You are truly a beautiful soul. God bless you , your amazing wife and family . 😊 you got this

There’s no such thing as “just anxiety!” I deal with both depression and anxiety and neither is easy in any way. I’m also glad to see you openly talking about something that is much too often kept secret.

Your videos for a long time now have helped me through the grief of losing both my parents and with my own mental health struggles.
You inspired me to sort my garden out and get up off my butt. Showed me there are good and selfless people in this world.

Anxiety and depression are BEASTS and they look different for everyone. I'm glad to hear you're doing what you need to take care of yourself. You don't owe anyone any explanations, but sharing your story definitely helps other people. xoxo

Al, there is one reason you were one of the first people I followed. Your gentle heart, and kindness is so obvious and real. It just pours through the screen. You are such a good person. This was heartbreaking to watch you share your struggles, that could not have been easy. I wish I could give you a hug. When I watched your videos I could always escape for 30 minutes. Which I don't think you could. I wonder if making 1 M subscribers wasn't very, very stressful, and that when you made it, it just all crashed down on you. Fame can be very hard on people. The only thing I didn't hear was how your daughter is doing? Take care of yourself Al.

It’s so good to see you Al! You have taken the first most important steps by admitting to yourself and others that you are dealing with anxiety and depression. I spent 60years trying to handle it with no one knowing. After a good antidepressant and anxiety meds I am doing better and you will too. You are very smart to address it and get help. I am praying for you to feel better and get some relief from this ❤️

Just remember Al.....Fear (anxiety) is a LIAR.
I know exactly what you've gone thru.....everything you're describing I went thru in my early 30s..... couldn't function at all.....couldn't leave the house without my husband and kids.....I know....and I'm tearing up just hearing you and where you were....
I'm praying for you my friend🙏🏽

Al.... Your mind, emotions, and overall health have a huge impact on how you see the world around you. It can control you, and take the wind out of your sails. If we're honest, all of us have been through these internal struggles. We all handle it differently. Like others have said, you don't owe us an explanation, we're just happy to support you, and we wish you and the family only the best. You have a lot of love and positive energy coming your way from all of us. Remember that !!! You're not going through it alone.

Thank you for sharing your story Al. You work so hard, and the stress of life can take a toll. So proud of you for seeking medical attention when you have anxiety around such things. Please don't ever let your fear stand in the way of seeking medical attention. A couple of days after Christmas, I managed to have a medical emergency myself. Didn't want to go, but am so thankful I did. You need to remember that you must take care of yourself or you can't take care of others. Clearly, you have many people that YOU give hope and enjoyment to through your videos. Your online community does care about you and your well-being. I'm so sorry you've been having a tough time and that your daughter was sick. Thinking of you. Virtual hugs to you and your family.

Anxiety and depression is a huge issue with those who serve others. I was in the social services field, both professionally and personally. I relapsed into alcohol and zoned out horribly. It takes huge amount of willpower and strength and faith to come out.
Legos are perfect! Its time consuming and focal work!
Great job being honest, keep doing what you do!
