Love the battle theme here, it clashes so much with the techno aspect of the fight by using flutes and tropical instruments, it feels so out of place, kind of like THIS entire area, plays with your expectations.
Technically it's never been official that she was murdered, only thing we kept hearing was that "she was taken by lynx"- I'd like to think she's still alive in an uncreated sequel ^^ Also, it would've been a real jawdropper if it turned out Harle was Lucca all along transformed by lynx, I feel that would've been a much better twist than her being a dragon we never get a full explanation for :/
I always thought the boss music was a bit strange in this fight compared to "typical" boss music; however, when you think about it, it seems to have some logic in it. The irony of the entire situation in the game up to this point and this battle and the events that transpired (even though I don't fully understand the story in CC yet) matches the irony of the music for such a situation. I think Yasunori, the brilliant super genius composer may have had this deep meaning in mind when he wrote this piece....whether consciously or subconsciously. Although I'm not a fan of the music itself, when it's applied to the big picture of this situation, I love the deep connection.
I lOVE the music! It reminds me of a very flat tummy, or drumming on your own tummy, or on the side of the tummy. Very tribal and light weight. Maldivian girls gently tap their tummy or on either side of the belly button to a triplet beat. It goes like 12 3, 12 3 with the pinky finger relaxed and gently clapping on the ring finger as the hands touch the stomach. It is done very effortlessly and with zero energy, like a breeze. You really need to see it, It is not like belly dancing which is slightly racy and forced.
No chance it wasn't a conscious decision. Makes no sense for the composer to randomly write a primal/tribal beat for a futuristic sci-fi boss battle. You don't just stumble upon a paradox like that.
@@IamCanadian3333 Crono, Marle and Lucca did apear at the portal which is on the beach before the final battle. The producers said it was not a sequel to CT because it was not the sequel the gamers were expecting
They said it wasn’t a direct sequel. Implying it’s still a sequel, but not the kind everyone expected since it’s 20 years after the events of Chrono Trigger. It’s literally on the back of the game case in the description.
The dialogue, good lord.. How did they create and sew all that piece together into such complex story?? When I was a kid, all I want to do was just finish this game and defeat powerful boss, I don't give a damn about anything else because I'm still too dumb to understand the dialogue and story. But now as an adult, reading every dialogue and try to digest it, geez such an astonishing masterpiece..
One of the most broken combo set up is have serge use mastermune, have someone cast eagle eye on serge, have strengthen cast and then vigora afterwords. Serge wrecks everything except maybe 2 bosses
Imagine borrowing this game from a friend and his memory card. You load up a file on Chrono Cross before you even played the game and you fight this boss. 🥴 (Also, someone had to have been a fan of Trigun, because Grobyc's gun arm looks sus)
Shmoked Pancake Robo, Schala, meeting the main characters, the orphan. It all makes sense. But maybe it was easy to recognize for me because I played the fangame Crimson Echoes.
+Shmoked Pancake I disagree the dragons were there since the start of the game, we only didn't knew their true role until the end, the same goes to FATE, who was present since the beggining (Lynx). Their roles developed slowly throughout the game, everything always covered in mysteries, all of our actions in game led to them, until we finally discovered Lynx identity at Dead Sea and part of the dragons story, which we believe to be our allies for a moment just to realize their are not. The plot will slowly but poetically closing with the events in Chronopolis, Terra Tower and finally Opassa Beach... that's just so beautiful. everything is connected, everything is explained in a subjective way, which makes it more beautiful and at the same time difficult to understand. CT and CC have connections and the porre soldiers and ghosts are the least important. Belthazar is the main manipulator of the story and is the same (almost) Belthazar of CT, Dead Sea is easily a reconstitution of the 2300 in CT, Schala's fate who was finally revealed, even Guile is highly assumed to be Magus after the events of the new ending of CT for DS version (through nothing is comproved). leaving it aside, the game is still loaded with philosophical dialogues and treat of a series of important matters like environment issues, racism, concepts of right or wrong, misery, reality, etc.
+Shmoked Pancake What did you think was wrong with FF7? I like that game but I never played it as a child so it wasn't a nostalgia thing for me. My first RPG was Wild Arms which I didn't like.
The main characters from the original barely appear in the game , except for Robo who you have to kill. There is no time travel only traveling between an alternate dimension where the reptites rule. And you fight Lavos as an afterthought in this game. There is a connection, but it's pretty damn flimsy.
Dalton should be the one who makes chaos in guardia kingdom he should show and be killed by serge because hist totally jealous to other people who have peace life
We're supposed to be sad about Robo getting killed off, but I didn't realize this was supposed to be him - or hell, that this even HAPPENED - until about a decade after I played this game. Nice try, writers, but you still fail.
+jeff Warren You didn't actually read my post, did you? I accept that this is Robo, but it's so badly presented that I didn't know that for years. Assuming I don't just chuck the entire game into "Never happened" territory the way I usually do, but that's a personal decision.
this is the only corny part in CC. i love the ancient rural setting only to jump to a technological setting is a big turn off for me. but i still love this game. atleast the dragons won over machines in the end.
I'd hardly say "won over" tbh. Yeah, they eventually were set free, only because we did their work for them (which was part of their plan). They didn't do really much with it because shortly after, we defeated the dragons and then Lavos/Time Devourer.
I dislike most of chrono cross since there was no sense of scope. There are a ton of great ideas in there that are executed way too poorly. If the story wanted to be about nature vs technology, they could double the amount of high tech areas in it and still have it work really well, but they didn’t give a setting like that the care it deserved
Love the battle theme here, it clashes so much with the techno aspect of the fight by using flutes and tropical instruments, it feels so out of place, kind of like THIS entire area, plays with your expectations.
one of those creepy bosses and very impressive graphics at the time. I was so convinced this thing look real
its even hard to tell what was better, technologies or story of the game
FATE looks like a PS2 model almost.
Lucca was avenged.

Lynx really messed up Serge's original body.

I didn't know Liara was in this game.
ok this vid needs a remake buffie
chrono cross is supposed to not be a sequel to chrono trigger... and yet the proof is RIGHT HERE
Whoever said it wasn't? Heck Miguel's whole shpeal after you defeat him was basically re-telling Chrono Trigger.

So Wazuki = LYNX?
Noooooooo, they killed Robo!!!
+Drawxne RIP Robo :'(
WTF is Robo
Vini Mattos Have you never played Chrono Trigger before?
mijumaru97 sorry, now i got it. I didn't remember
Is it just me or does Fate look like an asari? Or vice versa?
vice versa. FATE was first.
Yes. Fate even resembles Mystique from X-men a little.
Thanks for including settings!

This fight and that face had young me freaked the fuck out, not only that but the way it tied so much shit together between the two games it was wild
This must be in complex dream!
The heck? Grobyc strong arm's just like Vash The Stampede.. 😁
Vamos derrotar Fate!
Got him with the one two Saints Summon + Magnify combo. He went from perfectly fine to dead in a few minutes.
Okay, now it’s obvious where Chaos Rings got 90% of their inspiration. The other 10% being hunger games.
This boss looks very easy. Even taking into consideration he is on a much higher skill level (I have nit gotten there yet)
Is it just me, or was FATE a pretty easy boss?
Was very disappointing.
@@BuffMaister Well, what you expect when you got Mastermune?
@Kalini Son of a Gun gets oneshot by WandaSwords

Chrono Cross bosses are too easy tho... I hope in the remastered version, they make it a bit challenging...
Man I just beat the game and there were a fair few that were really fucking annoying if you didn't buy enough Elements to counter their bullshit.
Played through the remaster and yeah, it was easy. Too easy if you ask me. Never played chrono cross before this either, so it was way too easy.
