Great pak from Jex👍......u hit the Canadian classic rock jackpot. I saw Headpins open for KISS on the creatures tour. Enjoy the goodies Jeff. Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey there Lee, so awesome hearing from you this evening! More like a Canadian JEXpot lol! The more I here about Headpins the more I’m curious about hearing them, especially now after knowing their ties with KISS thanks to you! Take care and thanks for your enlightening comment Lee! Cheers ~ Jeff
Hey kerry great to hear from you, thanks so much for stopping bye to check out Jex’s generous package! Yes! Lots of great titles that will keep me going deep into 2024. Take care my friend and talk soon! ~ Jeff
Hi Jeff. Congratulations on the beautiful VCLT! Awesome stuff. I like and collect tapes too. This is a cool analog format. Have a lot of fun listening! Take care my friend! Cheers 🤘
Hey Andy so good to hear from you! A wonderful and very generous package from one of the kindest person I’ve had the pleasure of meeting on RUclips! I love the tape format whether it’s eight track or cassette! Take care my friend and talk soon! ~ Jeff
Very cool of your buddy Jex to send you some love from the non-stop always running VC Love Train. Does he live in Canada? Quite a few of these bands like you mentioned are Canadian. I saw April Wine live as a backup to Aerosmith in the mid to later seventies if I remember right. Very cool of him to throw in some of the 8-Tracks too. Outstanding presentation of appreciation Jeff. I really enjoyed seeing everything. Thanks for sharing it~ Rob/Boston
Good morning Rob hope you are doing well on this beautiful sunny Tuesday morning! To answer your question, yes Jex lives in Canada! As I mentioned we have been friends for many years and met through the VC as you and I did along with NammaN and several other great friendships because of this wonderful and generous community! Sounds like April Wine and Aerosmith must have been one amazing concert and I have no doubt that you have some amazing stories from the experience, either bands would be wonderful to experience but together would be a terrific show! Jex sent an amazing eight track package to me around 6 years ago that I linked at the top of the video right at the beginning that was absolutely busting out at the seams full of classic bands as well, Jex has always enjoyed sharing the gift of music with people! Thanks for watching, your wonderful comment and looking forward to catching up with you over the holidays as always buddy! Take care and talk with you soon! ~ Jeff
Hey there, brother Jeff! So glad to see that the package has made it's way to you (finally, lol!). I need to file a complaint with the post office; six years is just unacceptable ;) Happy to hear that you didn't have any of them on cassette, and I really hope you enjoy the ones that are new to you: -The Headpins are fantastic, straight-up rock 'n' roll from Vancouver BC, with Darcy Mills shouting out those vocals! The title track "Turn It Loud" is guaranteed to blow you away! They had another hit with "Don't It Make Ya Feel", which still gets regular airplay here in the Great White North. -Alias is another Canadian rock group, mostly of the AOR variety, this time from Toronto, Ontario. I'm not as familiar with them, but I felt like they might be up your alley. -Tom Cochrane is a Canadian singer/songwriter who was best known as the vocalist for Red Rider (definitely look them up). You MUST have heard his hit song "Life Is A Highway", which is on that very cassette you received. What's crazy is that between the time I sent the package and the day you received it (which was just a few days), Myles Goodwyn, former vocalist/guitarist of April Wine passed away in that time. Definitely blast that 8-track in his memory, brother! As soon as I came across that Frehley's Comet cassette, I knew it was going in the package. If something is Kiss related, I think of my brother Jeff. Speaking of "brother", I guess we could pass for brothers, couldn't we? ;) Jeff, it was a pleasure seeing you unbox this package, and the reactions that came with it. I'm wishing you some great listenings, not to mention some very Happy Holidays to you and your family. Take care, and cheers Jeff! -Jex
Hey there Jex! First off I have to say thank you for this amazing box of music goodness! I really couldn’t believe my eyes on the amount of cassettes and all of those amazing tiles that were in your generous package. I have been going through those Canadian tiles a little deeper and yes soon as I saw Life Is A Highway it definitely hit me like a ton of bricks, what a wonderful track and can’t wait to get into Tom’s entire album! That is sad news about Myles , I was thinking about taking that eight track apart tomorrow to get it cleaned up and refurbished with the new pressure pad and splicing tape. In light of the news about his passing I will have to make a concise decision to get it done. I think that I was intrigued by the Title of the band Headpins and the cover so I think I was putting that one on the top of the pile to listen to after your description of them. The good news is that I started my Christmas vacation as of today and I don’t return back to work until January second so I will have plenty of time to sample each and every one of these cassettes (and the April Wine eight track) so the timing couldn’t be better! Thanks again brother, it was very thoughtful of you! Take care and talk with you soon! ~ Jeff
A nice collection Jeff. I knew a few more of the names, but as you, I do not know the music. I do know April Wine as I have a number of their albums. Stand Back is from around 75 and I don't have that one. Sad to see that in the comments here that Myles Goodwin from April Wine passed away recently. Such a great writer. I did get the Gold double CD featuring Kiss. The booklet is slightly scuffed, but it was cheap and the discs are fine. A great compilation.
Hello Bobby, great hearing from you and hope all is going well with you! I totally didn’t hear anything about Myles passing either, I have several albums of theirs as well and glad to get this one into the collection! I was wondering if you got your KISS CD yet, glad to hear it came in and I know it’s one you will be enjoying for a long time! Take care and Thanks for watching and commenting, it’s always a pleasure! ~ Jeff
Hey John, yes I started digging into his past and finding this information out. I still hear that song on the radio almost every day on the station I listen to. I love getting music that is tied to other bands and artists and finding things like this out! Still wouldn’t guess the pronunciation of his last name the way it is spelled…thanks! Take care buddy! ~ Jeff

I was unaware that Myles passed away. Mind you, I live in the UK, so not so well known here. 😢😢

@@JefferyRusnock Yes, I got it. It's great.
Tom Cochrane pronounced Cockrin
You may know him from a band called Red Rider and the song Lunatic Fringe
