This was great breakfast tv. Positive, colourful, full of humour. Entertained many before the start of the day. Now what do we have? Pierce Morgan hate spewing on GMB or bland and boring BBC robots reporting the latest doom and gloom. Man take me back.
Basically The Big Breakfast was so different and so full of humor that it put an end to any rival shows in the UK then and now. Breakfast television in the UK never recovered from it and probably never will, that's how good it was. Johnny and Denise were wonderful together, really the ultimate crazy TV presenters to start your day off. The problem with the rival shows was, and nothing has changed in the mean time, they all took them selves far to seriously, something that The Big Breakfast and Johnny and Denise did not. And that's what made it the success it was.
Everybody who watched this needs to email Channel 4 asking them to bring this show back. Apart from anything, we need laugh in the morning and repeats of Frasier and everybody loves Raymond were boring five years ago.
I remember standing at the bus stop near Hackney Wick station waiting for the bus to work. I started chatting to another guy there and asked him what be did for a living. He said he worked on the Big Breakfast TV show. I never had the faintest clue what he was talking about. But the next morning I did watch the show. Really enjoyed it. And recognised the guy. It was "Carpet Monster".
I wish we could revive the great tv shows of the 90s , although chances are they'd be fronted by recycled presenters like Claire Balding or the like. Rather keep the naustalgic memories
They are both on every weekday morning in London on Capital 95.8 ont eh breakfast show from 7 - 10 . it's hilarious. Pity you cant see them but the old chemistry and spark is there in bundles. I love em. I'm sure you can tune in online !!

And as soon as Facebook came along, we were able to reconnect with the few of us who had lost contact. To be honest, I've lost contact with more people since social media than I ever did with landlines. But trust me, you never lose contact with friends permanently, even if social media didn't exist because you'll bump into them again at some point.

I just think its amazing how different the late nineties really were in terms of look than today...its weird really because when we get to about 2003-2004 onwards no body really looks any different then than they do today...but nineties, eighties, seventies all had very distinctive looks...strange...maybe its because looks became just standard 'ecletic' during that time and have just carried on...
