    I was born in 2001 and I got all my Dad's action man figures, and whenever we went to a car boot sale I got some as a present, one of the best things I ever got was the Action Man Scorpion Tank! That's what started my love of armoured vehicles and tanks, and I still have it to boot!

      You look after those Action Man figures and kit. I still have some of my stuff from the 1960s and 70s and it still brings me great joy. I sadly sold some of it some years ago and I regret it. Hang on to it! Enjoy!

    The Challenger 2 MBT is an impressive tank hopefully the Challenger 3 will be even more impressive and deadly, I do need to go to tank fest one of these days to experience the noise the thunder of tanks.
    I am restoring a Chieftain MK10 MBT that is fully operational and very nearly restored all we have left to do is to respray the outside. I intend to post videos on how to maintain the Chieftain, starting procedures of the engine, starting and operating turret, using the improved fire control system (IFCS), trimming the gyroscopes system to stabilise the 120mm barrel and many other features on the Chieftain MBT like operating the search light. I will also discuss the L60 Leyland engine good and bad points.
    We recently restored better than new condition Leyland 804 tractor check out the video you folks will be surprised looks like new.

    Boxer is going to replace a lot of vehicles but I still think we need a IFV that is tracked like the Warrior and the Best replacement for it would be a modular tracked vehicle that you can change the modules on so it could be used for different roles if required

    I was listening to an interview with an American Gulf War veteran the other day. He told how he was doing recon--in a humvee. I was perplexed. Why do recon in an unarmored vehicle with no built-in armament when there are all these vehicles specifically made for such duty? He recounted how artillery shells were exploding around him and his detachment, and how that instills the fear of being killed. Yes it does, for sure. But if you're in a reconnaissance vehicle with some armor protection, maybe you feel more safe, because you actually are more safe? I just couldn't understand doing reconnaissance in a humvee when there are other vehicles designed for the purpose. You'd thing the well-funded American military could do better at the front.

    • @MasonBryant
      @MasonBryant 3 года назад +1

      You talk about the humvee when we were driving around in the Jakcal. That thing would roll and crush people easily in operations plus everyone in it were totally exposed. Not a good vehicle.

      Yes, the Firefly, which used an Australian technology package for adapting the 17 pounder anti-tank gun to a tank turret. It was an effective ambush weapon and more of a turreted tank destroyer than a general purpose tank, due to the awkward operating conditions inside the turret.

      @@michaelguerin56Ever heard of W. G. K. Kilbourn ?
      "i’m going to ask you a question, K. But before doing so I must want you that the Americans say it is impossible, the British Army says it is impossible, and as a last resort I have come to you. The question is, can you by any chance put a 17 pounder gun in the American Sherman?”
      “I told London to ring me back in the morning when I would have the answer one way or the other. I brought all the drawings back here to the house, worked on it all night, and by modifying the breech of the gun, using parts from other gun mountings and without drastically altering the turret, I found I could get the gun in with one-eighth of an inch to spare! The next morning I gave London the answer and I was told to get a special design team together and work like stink to finish the job by Christmas. When it was all finished, I was sent down to a ministry establishment at Fort Halstead where I had to lay it all out in front of a dozen or so brass hats before it was finally agreed that it could be done.”
