  • From ZERO to HERO Land Management MAGIC! Let's make some land management magic happen on this beautiful Southern Illinois hunting land with 2 Kioti tractors in action! Join me as I tag team once again with my buddy Curtis Roger's at his 101 acre Illinois hunting land as we make the final preparations for plant fall food plots for deer on this property. We'll also take a look back at the 'Before' look of this area back to when we started this land management and wildlife habitat improvement project. In case you missed those here are a couple of links to the actual clearing of the spot that we will finish off today with food plot final soil preparation:
    13,000 TAKEUCHI & BOBCAT E42 R SERIES Part 1 of 3: • 13,000 lb Takeuchi & B...
    CLEARING LAND PART 2 OF 3: • Clearing land with min...
    Clearing Land for food plots Southern Illinois Kioti tractor & Bobcat mini excavator FULL LENGTH: • Clearing Land for food...
    So in today's episode Curtis will be bush hogging the recently cleared food plot opening since it is now overgrown with brush and weeds. Then I'll take my Kioti RX7320 and my home made Chisel disc harrow and start pulling the roots out of the ground and working the dirt for food plot soil preparation so that we can get this beautiful new opening in the woods planted in a new fall food plot. Curtis also has two beautiful stands of corn food plots that have done very well in this same spot. Thanks for joining us today, and as always if you enjoy our content please hit the Like button and share it to help us grow our very diverse land management and country living family on our Channel. Kapper, one things missing----where's Curtis' chemical SPRAYER to put the hurt on all that grass and weeds before and as you're planting?

    • @kapperoutdoors
      @kapperoutdoors  3 года назад

      The weeds are not that bad this time of year as far as new ones popping up and competing with the cool season plants. We can only transport one machine at a time.

    It's nice to have 2 tractors tackling a project..especially when you need more than one implement ...come spring i plan to buy a larger tractor to go with the one i have now..of course i'll have to buy a heavier trailer as well lol . My 23 hp compact just isnt big enough for my 136 acres...too small..it's like peeing on a forest fire lol

    • @kapperoutdoors
      @kapperoutdoors  3 года назад

      Best of luck with a bigger tractor! I know the feeling very well!! If I'd have only bought a big one from the start I could have saved thousands in cash with all the upgrades!! And yes it is exponential with 2 guys working 2 machines at once. Man you can really get a lot done very fast! We also tag team with planting and that is also awesome. One machine does step 1 with the other waits, then instantly step 2, which machine 1 preps and so on. Take care thanks

    I think Curtis is going to have to splurge on some gravel for that one crossing. If it's still wet in August it will be slop all fall and winter.

    Is the hood of the tractor scratched or is that dirt. Working around trees and brush the hood of our tractor gets scratches. Hard to avoid.
    Beautiful job.
    Our ground is so hard the disc will only go 1-2 inches deep unless we had a recent rain. In central Texas

    • @kapperoutdoors
      @kapperoutdoors  3 года назад

      Probably scratches! I told Curtis I'm going to start charging him for scratches soon if he don't get them trails trimmed!! LOL. But you are right, when you are in the woods and thickets the tractor's get used and some scars! Best of luck with the hard ground down there! Thanks

    Why don’t you just use your tiller for new plots ? I use it a lot for plots and putting in new trails. Just go slow and let it eat!

    • @kapperoutdoors
      @kapperoutdoors  3 года назад

      I don't use my tiller where there's stumps left I try to preserve it that's when I use the chisel disc to get the stumps and Roots pulled out first. Today I broke out the tiller again on our farm after I ran the chisel over it a couple weeks ago. The tiller does work awesome man! Thanks
