As a gay man I truly felt the embarrassment when the bartender asked "how does the fellow look like" and the lady said "you deserve a handsome fellow". Thanks for bringing that up Angel ❤ it shows how it's hard out there for LGBTQ+ people, even if there is much love as well. It's so uncomfortable sometimes when you don't know if you can trust strangers to come out.
Angel never disappoints but this is just amazing. Her best yet. Such a star. Deserves to be seen and heard by a huge audience. Sensational performance. The pre album released tracks become even better against the backdrop of this longer length footage. Sublime.
It hurts when you plug and find artist that you love to pay the 15 to 20$ ticket and 7 years later hopefully they are where they want to be and you’re paying more than you want to for that same ticket at a venue 5 times larger. It means you picked a winner. =p p.s. do you think she thinks she’s made it irregardless of the pain in her music? I hope so. If not she’s going to be writing the same song for life.
I am in tears by the beauty and the pain, the fears and wanting to bury that negative parts that attach to us. At least that is what I got from watching this masterpiece. My parents passed three months apart, but my mothers death still haunts me as we had a strained and complicated relationship. I know my mother loved me, but it was difficult to please her. When Angel heard her mother on the phone, I cried. I wished so much to hear my mothers voice just one last time, to hear "I love you", as she did not say throughout my life until she was in hospice. Hearing her say "I'm sorry and I love you", was words I never thought I'd hear from her, but it meant the world to me. And I just want to hear it once more. The part where Angel pushes her body into the tub seemed like she was leaving the past to make way for the present and letting go of the fear, pain and anguish. And that gave me a sign that I must do the same in order to make way for the present, and without fear, pain and any negative thoughts. I hope I didn't get the message wrong, but I had to let this out. Thank you Angel, for letting us see the beauty that is your art. And I felt all of it.🙏🏻💛🦋
I think that’s such a beautiful testimony and story! I don’t think there’s a “right way” to perceive this piece. I think this and the album itself are both very different for different people. The takeaway and the message can be applied to so many different things going on in so many people’s lives. I think that was her intent with this. Give you her thoughts, her experiences, etc. but make it vague enough that you can apply it to yourself and learn what you need from it. I know I certainly got what I needed from this album, and I am so thankful for it and Angel.
Inspiring... to let go and leave the past in the past, to let old dreams die, to leave your parents behind, to live your own life, to answer the call to be you. To renew, to become the present. Thank you for this.
That was so beautiful. It made me cry. I'm so sorry for your losses. I love how you represented the place where we go to not feel anything. I think I know what you're alluding to, something I've struggled with as well. I'm so happy you made it to the other side. You're a great actor, by the way.
This is so touching and gentle. it made my eyes wet. An album about these themes could be very depressed. But Angel is so gentle and great. She put all the melancholies, regrets and tears in. Then just turned them into beautiful tenderness, hope and release.
This is gonna be my record of 2022. My parents are still alive. But I can feel her pain of having to move on from her parents. I just fell in love with her voice I heard at a record store. So needless to say I waited for this album. It’s probably not leaving my turntable (when I go buy it).
What a sad but hopeful short film. I started crying at Through The Fires because it’s like “yeah, life is shitty but let’s create our own utopia and be high as hope. Chasing the sun is also such a perfect closing for a record about love, loss and grief. Angel Olsen is such an important story teller. I’m so obsessed and I can’t stop listening to the new record. 🫶🏾❤️
Such a beautiful, poignant work of art. I've been through an immense loss recently and this film felt so relatable to me. I especially cried during the Through The Fires sequence.
@@song2sirens I mainly got kt because it was going to be a cheaper way to get hatchies and angel Olsens albums. When I saw how much any of the variants of angel Olsens album would cost the membership made sense.
This has to be some of her best stuff yet, appreciate her sharing something so deeply personal/intimate with everyone. Wishing you all the best this year, and the years to come.
Incredible, What a piece of Art. What a vision. Angel you are saving peoples lives, souls, and sanity. Thank you to all who made this for the little nudge toward enlightenment.
putting out something like this must have been a hell of a journey. what a year, babe. and what a beautiful thing you made out of all these crazy shit that happened. strikingly beautiful, once more. this is very, very special and brave. happy pride, babe. it means a lot, a lot. strength to carry on and voice to sing, always, babe. love you big time.
Brilliant! And kinda reminds me of what Kevin Morby did a few years back with his film Oh My God...which is odd as his ace new album has just been released and has that country soul vibe as well.
@@waynedexter you are more than welcome Dexter. Make sure you check out his songs Campfires / Nothing Scared.../ Come To Me Now / Beautiful Strangers. All ace.
It’s beautiful. WTF are you even talking about??? 😂 go watch your 60’s movies in scummy reel to reel film if that’s your cup of tea and quit being a hater.
I’m a fan of angel for a long time but finding this new version of her difficult to take. Let’s be honest, these songs aren’t very good and this film is self indulgent tripe.
That’s your own opinion. It’s very wrong, but it’s your opinion. If you’ve been a fan for “long time” then you know every album of hers is different than the rest. She’s never complacent. It this era isn’t for you, then leave it and let the rest of us enjoy it.
You can’t feel it but I’m throwing tomatoes at you. You have never said anything correct in your entire life. Your death will be inconsequential. Angel Olsen supremacy. She will reign for a thousand years.

How is Angel Olsen not the biggest musician on the planet? Like, seriously?
She is! the planet just does not realize it yet.... :)

"Country" Angel is the best thing I've heard in years.
I’m so glad you get Lucinda Williams. And, I’m so glad that she gets you. “We love you both, Big Time”💕
I lost my mom two months ago suddenly and this touched my soul and I feel seen. Thank you for showing how hard it is to live with the pain of grief.
I'm Just Crying...thank you, angel olsen. love you from japan.
Love & Tears from Taiwan.
Repeat the film again and again.
Angel Olsen backed up Lucinda Williams on her latest album, “Stories From A Rock ‘N’ Roll Heart”💕
thanks for the free ride and all the good times 🧡

You can always count on Angel to bring real meaningful music. MUSIC! Thankyou!
just ordered the pink vinyl edition and popped over here to get a preview of some tracks and found this. nice timing....
and now I've watched and listened, and... felt.
I'm supposed to be getting the secretly membership exclusive one but apparently they don't ship until the first full week in June.

Can’t think of a contemporary artist of her caliber
The best
Wow. This was really beautiful. It makes the album (Big Time) even more powerful. I don't know what else to say. "Chasing the sun for you"
a beautiful visual accompaniment to a beautiful album... i'm so grateful she chose to share this art with us
I need that little synthesizer loop coming from the box so bad.
Thank you so much, I truly needed this. Once again, thank you.
