It should be mentioned, if you're making a bolt on neck and you intend to apply finish to it, make the template using the _finished_ neck.

Should the neck be finished first before making the neck pocket or will the neck still fit in the pocket if you finish it after making the pocket?

If you are doing a bolt on, and using a clear coat on the neck, then yes

Yes, at the end i mention i made a center line based on the neck in the template. Centerline is always a requirement for me.
