    My issue with midranges is how my technique feels; Before it was pretty natural and I could almost shoot from everywhere except deep 2s and 3s. Since ive gaining strength, closer midranges feel awfully complicated, I either shoot them too strong so they miss the rim or too weak so they hit in front. I have been trying to adapt by changing the shot height but it still doesnt feel natural.
    Nevertheless, great workout and will apply to my practice days.

    • @Jp_1abve
      @Jp_1abve  6 месяцев назад +4

      Your set point in the midrange should be higher and out at the 3 point line it should be lower. Just focus on moving the ball up before you start to jump and then once the ball gets to your set point, then your lower body moves up

    Great workout, I will try to do this every day. I just have one question though. What is the counter to the pump fake half spin. If you already stopped dribbling, what is the point of a half spin if your only other option is to retreat back into your starting position. When you half spin, your back is facing the basket, meaning its not possible to do anything from this position to get a shot off without travelling. If I were a defender and i didnt fall for the pump fake, i would not react to the half spin because i know their only options are to either travel, shoot a backwards granny shot, or go back into the position where they originally pump faked, where id be waiting to block/contest the shot. Please answer because im genuinely curious about this. All the other moves are great though, I must say.

    • @Jp_1abve
      @Jp_1abve  5 месяцев назад +2

      Just search up a Kobe video in the midrange and I can even say Thais for myself when I play, even though there’s nothing else you can do and the defender knows that they still end up falling for it. Like if you pump and they don’t fall for it, usually the half spin will get them to like drop back or not be as far up on you because you make contact with them when you do the spin

    • @rivershelf991
      @rivershelf991 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@Jp_1abveI think I get it now, it's like a bail out shot, if the pump fake doesn't work, the half spin creates a small room of seperation for you to get a shot off. I'm gonna be honest though, if I were in this position, I would almost always pass up the ball. However, if this is a real game and the shot clock is low, I would probably use this move.

    • @Jp_1abve
      @Jp_1abve  5 месяцев назад +1

      @@rivershelf991 yea if you can get the shot off get it off but if you can’t then you should obviously pass the ball in that situation because if you aren’t at least kinda open it’s gonna be a very smothered shot
