I recently decided to make some greeting cards with photographs from Scotland and Romania and other places I've been to. I stumbled upon this video while researching this subject. Thorsten - you have a vision of photography which embraces people and their environment and the beauty of things. It seems natural that this vision should include Leica cameras and the beauty of their functionality which is so well crafted to the task of capturing your vision. I have watched your videos on and off for several years now and find it all very convincing and seductive. I am not a Leica owner but am not sure I can resist it much longer .....
Haha. You made me laugh with the ‘one more thing.’ For those who don’t know Mr Thor yet, behind the model looks, the expensive bags, the multi-million-dollar Leica collection, is a sincere kind person with whom one can just have a cup of coffee like with an old friend. ;-))
P.s. the title shot of the video looks like you are Steve Jobs introducing the white iPad - and the window on that postcard is where an Apple logo would be. The hidden wink to SJ, Thorsten brings the postcard to the people :-)

I really like this idea. Small postcards are almost a waste - why not just send a big one? There is much more impact that way, and there is more room to write a longer message. As for selling photos, I think that these days, there is no point selling photos. Here, you are not selling photos, you are selling postcards. Usually, you are selling books. I would not buy your photos (or anyone's photos), but I would buy products with your photos on them or in them. Photos are a dime a dozen. I have a few photos on Unsplash, and I will eventually put more there. Already, L'Oreal, via McCann Paris, has used one of my photos from Unsplash. I hope that this continues! Of course with some photos I can't do that, because they are taken for clients. But when a client hires you, they aren't buying photos, they are buying photography. A critical difference, I think. I do think that there can be a model to sell very high quality stock photos, though. Imagine a stock agency that holds only photos made with medium format cameras. That business model could work.
Enjoy your videos but doing business with your company was not very pleasant experience. 3 mos wait for product and only after PayPal intervened was a product shipped.I hope others do not have same

I have a postcard from a former boss that I have held on to for over 20 years. 'Hand written' has always had meaning, and even more so today.

Lots of offset printers and digital printers who offer to print postcards. These are 300g paper.

Canon used to make a small dye sub postcard printer. I think it was called Selphy 100. Battery or AC, small enough to travel.
